Attributes & Attack Types — Zenless Zone Zero

The 7 elemental Attributes and 3 Attack Types of ZZZ Agents, per community wiki — Anomaly mechanics and each group's member list.

7 attributes

Attribute (element)

7 regular Attributes — every Agent belongs to exactly one (some also carry a special sub-Attribute).

Physical 14 Agents

One of the seven regular Attributes in Zenless Zone Zero — every Agent belongs to one of ten Attributes (seven regular + three special sub-Attributes). Dealing Physical damage builds Anomaly Buildup; once the gauge is full, it inflicts a Physical Attribute Anomaly on the enemy. The special sub-Attribute Honed Edge (Ye Shunguang) counts as Physical for Additional Abilities but keeps its own separate Anomaly gauge.

Electric 12 Agents

One of the seven regular Attributes in Zenless Zone Zero. Dealing Electric damage builds Anomaly Buildup; once the gauge is full, it inflicts an Electric Attribute Anomaly on the enemy.

Members (12)
Fire 12 Agents

One of the seven regular Attributes in Zenless Zone Zero. Dealing Fire damage builds Anomaly Buildup; once the gauge is full, it inflicts a Fire Attribute Anomaly (burn damage over time) on the enemy.

Ether 9 Agents

One of the seven regular Attributes in Zenless Zone Zero. Dealing Ether damage builds Anomaly Buildup; once the gauge is full, it inflicts an Ether Attribute Anomaly on the enemy. The special sub-Attribute Auric Ink (Yixuan) counts as Ether for Additional Abilities, with no other extra properties listed by the community wiki.

Members (9)
Ice 9 Agents

One of the seven regular Attributes in Zenless Zone Zero. Dealing Ice damage builds Anomaly Buildup; once the gauge is full, it inflicts Frostbite (10 seconds by default) on the enemy. The special sub-Attribute Frost (Miyabi) counts as Ice for Additional Abilities, but its Frostbite lasts 20 seconds instead of Ice's 10, and it keeps its own separate Anomaly gauge.

Wind 1 Agents

One of the seven regular Attributes in Zenless Zone Zero — with a special history: Wind first appeared in the 0.13 Tuning Test, was then REMOVED in version 0.2.0 (when Ether launched), and only got READDED in version 2.8 via Phaethon of the Scorched Horizon's mechanics, alongside multiple enemies being updated with Wind weakness or resistance.

Lumiflux 1 Agents

The seventh and NEWEST regular Attribute in Zenless Zone Zero, tied to Remielle Dan alone. Per the community wiki, most Void Hunter Agents (and equivalents such as Yixuan) carry a special SUB-Attribute riding on one of the six other regular Attributes — Remielle Dan is the ONLY EXCEPTION: her new attribute is a regular one in its own right, not a subtype of another.

Attack Type

3 Attack Types — a legacy system from the game's early days, now mostly descriptive of combat style.

Slash 29 Agents

An Attack Type dealing damage with bladed melee weapons (swords, blades...), hitting from close to mid-range. Some Slash Agents can deflect enemy projectiles when dashing/dodging. Attack Type was previously called "Fighting Style" and is occasionally referred to as "Hit Type"; in the early 0.13 beta, Slash countered Ethereal enemies, but since version 0.3.0 the Specialty system replaced Attack Type as the main combat-performance metric.

Strike 20 Agents

An Attack Type dealing damage with blunt weapons (maces, gauntlets, bare fists...), usually hitting at short range or fighting hand-to-hand. In the early 0.13 beta, Strike countered Machine enemies; since version 0.3.0, the Specialty system replaced Attack Type as the main combat-performance metric.

Pierce 9 Agents

An Attack Type dealing damage with firearms, projectile weapons, or armor-penetrating weapons — hit range varies depending on the weapon used. In the early 0.13 beta, Pierce countered Organic enemies; since version 0.3.0, the Specialty system replaced Attack Type as the main combat-performance metric.

FAQ

How many Attributes does Zenless Zone Zero have?
ZZZ has 10 Attributes: 7 regular ones (Physical, Fire, Ice, Electric, Ether, Wind, Lumiflux) and 3 special sub-Attributes (Frost, Honed Edge, Auric Ink) — each sub-Attribute counts as one of the other six regular Attributes for Additional Abilities but keeps a separate Anomaly gauge.
What's the difference between the 3 Attack Types in ZZZ?
Slash uses bladed weapons at close-to-mid range, Strike uses blunt weapons or bare fists at short range, and Pierce uses firearms or projectile weapons at varying range. In the early beta, each countered a specific enemy type (Ethereal/Machine/Organic); since version 0.3.0 the Specialty system replaced Attack Type as the main combat metric.
