Slot 4: ATK% · Slot 5: Electric DMG · Slot 6: ATK% (Yanagi already has surplus Anomaly Buildup, so prioritize ATK)
ATK% > Anomaly Proficiency > PEN > flat ATK.
Skill priority: Special Attack → Core Skill → Basic Attack → Assist → Dodge
Yanagi is one of the strongest Electric Anomaly DPS in the game—sticky on-field and a monster at stacking Disorder. Well worth leveling and investing in her signature Timeweaver. Her only weakness is needing an off-element teammate to maximize Disorder; run mono-Electric and you give up part of her power.
Level 60 targets (per game8/gamewith): Anomaly Mastery is the absolute priority. game8 recommends AM 400 / ATK 2500 WITHOUT the signature engine, or AM 350 / ATK 3000 WITH it (beginner floor AM 330 / ATK 2000). gamewith targets AM 326 / ATK 2947 and stresses AM 300 minimum to activate the signature engine's effect (push 350-375+ to max it). Yanagi barely wants CRIT since she scales off anomaly; slot 5 goes PEN Ratio (or ATK%/Electric DMG in a DEF-shred team with Nicole/Trigger).
Opener: (if the team has an off-element anomaly unit, let them apply their status first) → tap EX Special on entry to enter the Forbidden Knowledge stance. Loop: Basic Attack strings 3→4→5 x2 → Special (tap) to swap stance → Basic 3→4→5 x2 again (skip the early physical hits to keep Electric output consistent). Finisher: once the enemy is Shocked, hold EX Special (Lunar Cycle) to detonate Polarity Disorder, then swap out. Time the EX into the enemy's attack window to soak the stance-swap damage-reduction frames.
When an enemy is afflicted with an anomaly, Yanagi gains 'Insight': consumable for invincibility (up to 3 stacks) and +80 Anomaly Mastery while held. The single most impactful mindscape — adds both damage and safety frames for hard bosses. If pulling copies, STOP AT M2 (per game8/gamewith the value drops off past M2); otherwise stay M0 and prioritize her signature Timeweaver first.
Enhances EX Special: +20% Shock buildup and raises the Polarity Disorder multiplier from a base ~20% up to ~50% (per game8). This is Yanagi's core playstyle, which is why game8 calls M2 her strongest breakpoint. Worth it if you have it, no need to go past M2.
Only +2 skill levels, no gameplay change.
Anomaly hits apply 'Exposed', granting +15~16% PEN Ratio against exposed targets (game8 lists 15%, gamewith 16%). A real damage bump but below M1/M2.
Only +2 skill levels.
Extends the Forbidden Knowledge state to 30s and raises the Polarity Disorder multiplier stack count to a max of 4 (per gamewith). Nice for completionists but low value-per-resource versus M1-M2.
- Self-sufficient Disorder: her falling hit on an already-afflicted enemy triggers Polarity Disorder, so she works without a second anomaly partner.
- Polarity Disorder does NOT consume the underlying anomaly, so she can chain it repeatedly for sustained, uninterrupted damage.
- Her dual-stance system gives permanent buffs and excellent on-field endurance; flexible in both mono-Electric and multi-element teams.
- Stance swaps have a guard window that reduces incoming damage, letting her attack and defend smoothly.
- The Anomaly Mastery threshold to activate her signature engine is steep (300 minimum, ~375 to max per gamewith), demanding good discs and rough on newer accounts.
- Average base stats — nearly all her power comes from anomaly/Disorder rather than base stats, so a wrong build tanks her hard.
- Fiddly anomaly timing: you must ensure Yanagi only builds Electric anomaly while the enemy is Shocked, which makes the rotation tricky in double-anomaly teams with Burnice/Vivian.
Excellent for Shiyu Defense (式輿防衛戦): durable on-field damage with strong multi-target Disorder; game8 notes an Anomaly-Mastery build clearing S across all stages in shifting-node seasons. Best paired with Miyabi (resource recovery) or Vivian (chaos buff).
Also strong in Deadly Assault (危局強襲戦): sustained AoE Disorder scores well in this multi-enemy DPS-check mode; wants a Shock-feeder or off-element anomaly partner to keep Disorder uptime.
