Recommended teams
Worth investing in as a cheap A-rank Anomaly DPS—extremely strong in Disorder teams and easy to obtain (many players get enough use out of her even unleveled). Her strengths are fast Anomaly buildup and solid off-field play; her weakness is that her standalone single-target damage is well below an S-rank DPS, so she needs team-swapping to shine.
Role Ranking
The list below is pulled straight from the overall Tier List, keeping only the 11 agents who share the Anomaly role. Order within each tier is NOT a strength ranking — it simply groups agents by their original tier.
Stat targets
Level 60 targets: beginner Anomaly Mastery 200 / ATK 2,000; M0 WITHOUT signature AM 350 / ATK 3,000; M0 WITH signature AM 400 / ATK 2,500 (the signature supplies ATK%, so less raw ATK is needed). Anomaly Mastery is her key stat because it drives her anomaly buildup speed — aim for ~350-400. Discs: slot 4 Anomaly Proficiency · slot 5 Physical DMG · slot 6 Anomaly Mastery (or ATK%). Substat priority: Anomaly Proficiency > ATK% > PEN; grab a few HP rolls for survivability since she has no interruption resistance.
Rotation & combos
1) OPENER: enter, use Basic / Assist to charge enough energy for EX. 2) HOLD EX Special 'Engine Spin' to spin — each rotation applies Physical Assault, stacks Power (cap 20, 30 at M1), grants +2% anomaly buildup per stack and turns on a ~18% team-wide damage buff. 3) You can Dodge-cancel BEFORE the final hit to release Assault at the timing you want and save energy. 4) Swap to an anomaly partner (Burnice/Vivian…) to trigger Disorder — M4 refunds energy when a teammate inflicts an anomaly. 5) LOOP: swap back to Piper BEFORE the Power stacks expire (12s, 16s at M6) to refresh the buff, then repeat from step 2.
- The cheapest and most accessible Physical Anomaly applier: a standard-banner A-rank that works even at low investment — a lifesaver for F2P lacking a Physical DPS.
- Extremely fast anomaly buildup from continuous EX spin — a top off-field Disorder enabler that applies Assault almost non-stop.
- Buffs while she applies anomaly: turns on a ~18% team-wide damage boost and shares Assault, strongly supporting same-faction / Physical allies.
- Flexible Disorder partner: pairs with Fire (Burnice), Ether (Vivian), Ice (Miyabi)… so she slots into a wide range of comps.
- No interruption resistance while spinning: takes damage easily and is risky against bosses — she must spin in safe windows.
- Energy-hungry to keep the EX spin going — relies on anomaly-inflicting partners (and M4) to sustain uptime.
- Modest solo / single-target damage vs S-rank DPS: she needs a Disorder partner to shine and can't carry on-field alone.
Recommended Bangboo
Endgame mode fit
In Shiyu Defense she plays an off-field Disorder engine: pair her with a main DPS (Miyabi/Vivian/Burnice) to melt one side — her team buff + fast Assault keeps clear times good. Note she is a support-DPS, not a solo carry, so her value is team-dependent. (Single-target burst is not her strength.)
Shines most in Deadly Assault: Disorder teams pile Physical Assault + anomaly on multiple high-HP foes, ideal for add-heavy stages. Luckyboo's pull groups enemies so Piper spreads anomaly widely — regularly a strong scorer when paired with the right Disorder partner (Burnice/Vivian).

Mindscapes — how far is worth it?
When Piper’s Special Attack: Tire Spin, EX Special Attack: Engine Spin, or Ultimate hits an enemy with a spinning slash, there is a 50% chance to gain an additional stack of Power. The maximum stack limit of Power is increased to 30. One ordinary morning at Sons of Calydon, Piper lets out a lazy yawn. "Good morning—" "Can we have another relaxing day today? It's important to take it easy, or else lil ol' me might end up working meself to death—"
During Special Attack: Tire Spin and EX Special Attack: Engine Spin, Piper’s movement speed increases. When using Special Attack: One Trillion Tons, EX Special Attack: Really Heavy, or Ultimate to launch a downward smash that hits an enemy, the Physical DMG dealt by the move is increased by 10%. For every stack of Power, this buff is further increased by 1%. A bit of effort now means more rest later. Though, it'd be even better if I didn't have to put in any effort at all — Piper stretches, pats the soft bed in her truck, and lies down.
Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 Piper is always all about trucks. Even when she's fast asleep, the rumble of an engine snaps her awake in an instant: "100 horsepower, 5-ton capacity... must be the new light truck from Three Gates Industries!"
Whenever a squad member inflicts an Attribute Anomaly on an enemy, Piper recovers 20 Energy. This effect can trigger every 30s. Riding with Piper is a heart-pounding experience. By the time she drawls out, "Hold~ on~ tight~," the truck is already barreling down the road. She always gets you to your destination fast—though your nerves might take a hit.
Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv.+2 Piper seems to have some hobbies that are not what you'd expect from her. "This horse looks like a real runner... Hmm, but not many people are betting on it. Guess the one with the higher win rate is the safer bet..." "Burp— Nitro-Fuel... I can drink more... Gimme another one!"
Increases the duration limit of EX Special Attack: Engine Spin by 2s and extends the duration of Power by 4s. As you may already know, Piper's biggest dream is to live a life of perpetual relaxation. But right now, her usually half-closed eyes are surprisingly bright and alert. "If it's for you... I suppose lil ol' me can try a little harder~"

How to read this build page
Every Agent build page has 4 parts: a stat table by level, W-Engine/Drive Disc suggestions, a Mindscape roadmap, and recommended teams. Read them in that order — stats tell you "what you need", gear tells you "where to get it", Mindscape tells you "is it worth pulling", teams tell you "who to pair with". The section below explains how to read each part, and it applies the same way to every character on the site.
How to read the stat table and level
The stat table shows values at the ascension breakpoints (usually the final one, e.g. Lv60) — these are BASE stats with no gear added, useful for comparing Agents or checking whether you've ascended far enough. CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG are shown separately because they set the damage ceiling once Drive Disc substats stack on top. If your real stats are lower than the table, you likely haven't fully ascended or leveled yet — it's not a build mistake.
Why the W-Engine and Drive Disc picks make sense
Most Agents have a "signature" W-Engine designed for their exact role, plus a few cheaper standard-banner substitutes. Missing the signature isn't a dead end — most Agents keep most of their power with a well-matched substitute, just short by some amount of total damage.
- Drive Disc sets (2pc + 4pc) are picked for the set effect that fits that Agent's playstyle (mono-element, Anomaly, stun, and so on).
- Substats follow a priority that changes by role: Attack-type Agents usually chase CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG before ATK%; Anomaly-type Agents add Anomaly Proficiency to that mix; Stun/Support roles often value survivability or energy stats over pure CRIT.
These weights differ per character — follow the exact substat priority table above rather than applying one formula to every role.
Is Mindscape worth chasing
General rule: M0 (no duplicates) already clears the game's hardest content, even for S-rank Agents. Mindscape is a duplicate-fueled upgrade system, and each level costs more resources for a smaller power gain. For most Agents, the best value stop is usually M1–M2 (where some key effects unlock), while M6 is almost always for players chasing the absolute ceiling, not a requirement. Check the Mindscape section in the table above for that specific Agent's numbers.
Skill priority by role
There's no single order for every Agent, but the general pattern by role is:
- Attack: level the main damage skill first (Basic or Special Attack depending on kit), Dash/Dodge last.
- Stun: prioritize whichever skill builds Daze/Stun fastest, since the stun window is where the whole team dumps damage.
- Support: prioritize buff or energy-generating skills over personal damage — this role's value comes from lifting the whole team.
- Anomaly: prioritize the skill that stacks anomaly buildup, since most of the damage comes from the triggered effect, not the direct hit.
Always level the Core Skill steadily alongside the rest — it's a baseline stat that affects the whole rotation, not just one move.
Where to dig deeper

Piper FAQ
What is the best W-Engine for Piper?
Piper performs best with Flight of Fancy. See alternatives and required stats in the Gear section above.
Is Piper worth pulling?
Worth investing in as a cheap A-rank Anomaly DPS—extremely strong in Disorder teams and easy to obtain (many players get enough use out of her even unleveled). Her strengths are fast Anomaly buildup and solid off-field play; her weakness is that her standalone single-target damage is well below an S-rank DPS, so she needs team-swapping to shine.
What is the best team for Piper?
Piper works best in the Ether-Physical Disorder team. Full members and rotation are in the Teams section.
Who voices Piper in Zenless Zone Zero?
Piper (faction Sons of Calydon, birthday Oct 21) is voiced according to the official credits published on the HoYoverse Wiki. See the full English/Japanese/Korean/Chinese voice actor list in the "Voice Actors & Character Info" block above — this data is pulled directly from the official wiki, not guessed.
Which Mindscape of Piper is worth investing in?
Piper has 6 Mindscape tiers (M1-M6), each unlocking its own effect detailed in the "Mindscape" block above (official wording). Mindscapes cost Mindscape Cinema currency farmed from limited banners, so weigh it against your budget — F2P players usually stop at M0-M1 and prioritize W-Engine and Drive Discs before pushing Mindscape higher.
How much Denny and how many materials to level Piper to Lv60?
Leveling Piper to max Lv60 (ascension + basic skills to 12 + core skill A→F) costs roughly 1,706,000 Denny, plus role-specific ascension materials, attribute-specific skill chips, high-dimensional data, and weekly boss drops — see the full list with exact quantities in the "Materials Needed" block above, sourced from the game's official leveling tables.
