Quick verdict

One of the most flexible ATK Supports around — her buff doesn't care about team or element, making her worth leveling to fill any team short on a buffer. Her strengths are a universal ATK buff and extra damage; her weakness is that the buff is pure ATK%, so she falls behind top-tier supports on CRIT/DMG amplification, and she struggles when starved for energy.

Stat targets

Core threshold: push TOTAL ATK as high as possible because the 'Cheer On!' buff scales off Lucy's ATK (shared to allies, capped at 600 flat ATK). Practical target: total ATK around 2,266+, or at least base ATK 850+ with ~120% Energy Regen to keep EX Special cycling; only asks that ATK exceed 2,000 with the rest adjustable. Aim for ~40%+ Crit Rate to prime her Additional Ability. Special note: Guard Boars INHERIT Lucy's Impact, so if you want them to add Daze, watch Impact. Main discs: 4 ATK% (or Crit if ATK is covered) / 5 ATK% / 6 ATK% or Energy Regen when starved. Substat priority: ATK% > Crit Rate = Crit DMG > PEN > Energy Regen.

Rotation & combos

1) ON ENTRY: summon Guard Boars first (they fight off-field for extra damage and, at M1, prime Energy). 2) BUFF ON: hold (long-press 'Fly') the enhanced EX Special to trigger 'Cheer On!' — hold gives 15s (a quick tap only 10s; M6 stretches to ~30s) — then quick-swap to your Attacker. 3) LOOP: return to Lucy every ~15s to refresh the buff; with M2 you can also apply it via Chain Attack / Ultimate without squeezing in an EX Special. 4) KEEP ENERGY: always bank enough Energy for EX Special — this is her bottleneck, so pair Energy-Regen W-Engine/discs. 5) Fire Ultimate/Chain on cue for damage plus (at M2) a buff refresh, then repeat from step 2.

Pros
  • Universal buff: 'Cheer On!' adds ATK for ANY faction and any element, team-agnostic — she slots anywhere and is never a bad pick.
  • Extremely easy, plug-and-play: one EX Special grants the buff, the lightest execution among supports, great for beginners and F2P.
  • Easy-to-get A-rank with low mindscape/engine reliance: works well from M0 and needs no signature to do her job — low investment, high return.
  • Off-field sub-damage: her Guard Boars keep attacking after she swaps out, adding some damage and (if built for Impact) a little Daze.
Cons
  • The buff is plain ATK% (capped ~600 flat ATK) — clearly weaker than premium supports that amplify Crit/DMG/RES-shred; it scales poorly on units already ATK-flush.
  • She is energy-hungry with low base ATK: without enough Energy Regen she misses EX Specials and the buff drops — you must build to patch energy.
  • Keeping the buff up with an on-field Attacker is fiddly before M2: you must time quick-swaps to squeeze in an EX Special every ~15s, and uptime slips if you slack.

Endgame mode fit

Shiyu Defense

Solid in Shiyu Defense as a budget buffer: slot her into single-target Fire burst teams (Evelyn/Soldier 11/Lighter or Burnice) to pump ATK in the stun window, with easy buff uptime since it lives off-field. But the buff is plain ATK%, so top-tier comps with premium supports (Astra/Yuzuha) usually bench her — she is a reliable filler, not a record scorer.

Deadly Assault

Also fits Deadly Assault: her off-field buff shines in Fire Disorder/Anomaly teams (Burnice + Jane or Piper for repeated Disorder, Lucy holding ATK for the squad) against multiple high-HP foes. A steady scorer for F2P, but with a modest buff she is rarely the top-climbing core — her role is reliably raising the team's damage floor.

The Cheer On! status lasts for 10s when a Line Drive is hit, and 15s when a Fly Ball is hit. Repeated triggers reset the duration.

Chain Attack2

Chain Attack: Grand Slam!

While using this skill, other squad members recover 10 energy, and the next character to switch in gains an additional 20 energy. Character is invulnerable while using this skill. When the skill hits an enemy, it triggers a Quick Assist.

Core Skill2

Additional Ability: Batter Up!
When another character in your squad shares the same Attribute or Faction: The guard boars inherit Lucy's CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG.

Mindscapes — how far is worth it?

M1 Drill Formations Situational

When the guard boars launch Guard Boars: Spinning Swing!, Lucy recovers 2 Energy. This effect can trigger once every 15s, with each guard boar having its own separate cooldown. "Grassy, eyes right! ...That's left, you idiot!!!" One command, two directions, three cries of pain, and wails all around.

M2 Little Boar Captain Worth it

When Lucy uses a Chain Attack or Ultimate, it grants all squad members, Bangboo, and the guard boars the Cheer On! status for 10s. "Without a doubt, Captain Lucy is the best leader of the Calydon Boar Thirens!" This was Woody's conclusion in the "Sons of Calydon Annual Report."

M3 Ironfist Overseer Low value

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 "I just wish Captain Lucy would be more gentle when she's smacking us around." Woody thought, but didn't dare say it out loud.

M4 Chaos Ball Game Situational

While in the Cheer On! state, allies' CRIT DMG is increased by an additional 10%. Rules and ribs are made to be broken.

M5 Wildland Princess Low value

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 She speaks politely to opponents screaming under her bat. She apologizes to enemies groveling at her feet. This is the perfect etiquette of a noble lady.

M6 Fierce Fangs of Fire Worth it

When an ally in the Cheer On! state hits an enemy with an EX Special Attack, a guard boar will drop from the sky and cause an explosion, dealing Fire DMG equal to 300% of the guard boar’s ATK. This will extend the duration of the Cheer On! buff for all squad members by 5s. The duration can increase up to 3 times, with a maximum duration of 30s. Refreshing the Cheer On! state resets the stack count. After the guard boar’s explosion, it will launch Guard Boars: Spinning Swing!. The little boar Thirens known as the Crimson Mane Guard are always at the forefront of battle! Background & Lore

Lucy is currently in charge of outgoing business and managing boars for the Sons of Calydon. Since her name is far too long and she doesn't want to be involved with her family, she refers to herself as just "Lucy" in the Outer Ring. Her three boars are called Grassy, Woody, and Bricky, and they're unceasingly loyal to her. Though Lucy often speaks with a mixture of rough and elegant language, her actions subtly betray the marks of a proper education. Lucy's family is incredibly wealthy. She grew up very privileged, with anything she could ever want within grasp... except for freedom. After her Ether Aptitude test results came back high, Lucy decided she wanted to be a Hollow Investigator, but her family disapproved. She was met with harsh words, isolation and confinement, and emotional abuse which led to her deciding to leave to find her own freedom. "Hmph! There's no chance I'll ever go back! If I'm found... then I can say goodbye to the stars and sky and I'll have to inherit the family business instead!" Lucy is extremely competitive. She loves to win and hates losing. Currently, the one who has given her the most bitter taste of defeat is Caesar, so Lucy keeps challenging Caesar to duels, losing then challenging again, challenging then losing again. Increase Trust to Close to unlock more The way Lucy joined the Sons of Calydon was both comedic and dramatic. To run away from home, she hired some "kidnappers" and devised a kidnapping for herself. Yet, this plan was accidentally screwed up by the Sons of Calydon — Caesar defeated all the "kidnappers" and saved their "victim." According to eye-witness testimony, the sight of Caesar crashing straight through the door on her ride with the sunlight behind her left quite the impression on Lucy. "That was when I saw it — freedom." From then on, Lucy stuck with Caesar, eager to join the Sons of Calydon. Belle Lucy's Knock Knock profile pic is soooo pretty! Is that what she looked like back when she was still living as a rich heiress? Wise I think Caesar mentioned Lucy only uses this profile picture because it's incredibly effective when it comes to talking business with others...

How to read this build page

Every Agent build page has 4 parts: a stat table by level, W-Engine/Drive Disc suggestions, a Mindscape roadmap, and recommended teams. Read them in that order — stats tell you "what you need", gear tells you "where to get it", Mindscape tells you "is it worth pulling", teams tell you "who to pair with". The section below explains how to read each part, and it applies the same way to every character on the site.

How to read the stat table and level

The stat table shows values at the ascension breakpoints (usually the final one, e.g. Lv60) — these are BASE stats with no gear added, useful for comparing Agents or checking whether you've ascended far enough. CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG are shown separately because they set the damage ceiling once Drive Disc substats stack on top. If your real stats are lower than the table, you likely haven't fully ascended or leveled yet — it's not a build mistake.

Why the W-Engine and Drive Disc picks make sense

Most Agents have a "signature" W-Engine designed for their exact role, plus a few cheaper standard-banner substitutes. Missing the signature isn't a dead end — most Agents keep most of their power with a well-matched substitute, just short by some amount of total damage.

  • Drive Disc sets (2pc + 4pc) are picked for the set effect that fits that Agent's playstyle (mono-element, Anomaly, stun, and so on).
  • Substats follow a priority that changes by role: Attack-type Agents usually chase CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG before ATK%; Anomaly-type Agents add Anomaly Proficiency to that mix; Stun/Support roles often value survivability or energy stats over pure CRIT.

These weights differ per character — follow the exact substat priority table above rather than applying one formula to every role.

Is Mindscape worth chasing

General rule: M0 (no duplicates) already clears the game's hardest content, even for S-rank Agents. Mindscape is a duplicate-fueled upgrade system, and each level costs more resources for a smaller power gain. For most Agents, the best value stop is usually M1–M2 (where some key effects unlock), while M6 is almost always for players chasing the absolute ceiling, not a requirement. Check the Mindscape section in the table above for that specific Agent's numbers.

Skill priority by role

There's no single order for every Agent, but the general pattern by role is:

  • Attack: level the main damage skill first (Basic or Special Attack depending on kit), Dash/Dodge last.
  • Stun: prioritize whichever skill builds Daze/Stun fastest, since the stun window is where the whole team dumps damage.
  • Support: prioritize buff or energy-generating skills over personal damage — this role's value comes from lifting the whole team.
  • Anomaly: prioritize the skill that stacks anomaly buildup, since most of the damage comes from the triggered effect, not the direct hit.

Always level the Core Skill steadily alongside the rest — it's a baseline stat that affects the whole rotation, not just one move.

Where to dig deeper

This section only teaches you how to read the page — for deeper comparisons, use the dedicated tools:

  • Tier list to see where this Agent stands against the full roster.
  • Teams for full in-game comps, including Bangboo and rotation order.
  • Disc score to check how your current gear scores against the benchmark.

Lucy FAQ

What is the best W-Engine for Lucy?

Lucy performs best with Kaboom the Cannon. See alternatives and required stats in the Gear section above.

Is Lucy worth pulling?

One of the most flexible ATK Supports around — her buff doesn't care about team or element, making her worth leveling to fill any team short on a buffer. Her strengths are a universal ATK buff and extra damage; her weakness is that the buff is pure ATK%, so she falls behind top-tier supports on CRIT/DMG amplification, and she struggles when starved for energy.

What is the best team for Lucy?

Lucy works best in the Fire Stun team. Full members and rotation are in the Teams section.

Who voices Lucy in Zenless Zone Zero?

Lucy (faction Sons of Calydon, birthday Aug 14) is voiced according to the official credits published on the HoYoverse Wiki. See the full English/Japanese/Korean/Chinese voice actor list in the "Voice Actors & Character Info" block above — this data is pulled directly from the official wiki, not guessed.

Which Mindscape of Lucy is worth investing in?

Lucy has 6 Mindscape tiers (M1-M6), each unlocking its own effect detailed in the "Mindscape" block above (official wording). Mindscapes cost Mindscape Cinema currency farmed from limited banners, so weigh it against your budget — F2P players usually stop at M0-M1 and prioritize W-Engine and Drive Discs before pushing Mindscape higher.

How much Denny and how many materials to level Lucy to Lv60?

Leveling Lucy to max Lv60 (ascension + basic skills to 12 + core skill A→F) costs roughly 1,706,000 Denny, plus role-specific ascension materials, attribute-specific skill chips, high-dimensional data, and weekly boss drops — see the full list with exact quantities in the "Materials Needed" block above, sourced from the game's official leveling tables.
