Recommended teams
Qingyi is still one of the best stunners in the game: fast Daze buildup, a rare Stun Multiplier buff, and smooth quick-swaps. Very much worth building since almost any carry team can slot her in. Her drawbacks are needing to time her charged Basics correctly and benefiting heavily from her signature Ice-Jade Teapot.
Role Ranking
The list below is pulled straight from the overall Tier List, keeping only the 11 agents who share the Stun role. Order within each tier is NOT a strength ranking — it simply groups agents by their original tier.
Stat targets
Main stats : Slot 4 Crit Rate or Crit DMG (equal priority), Slot 5 Electric DMG (or ATK%), Slot 6 Impact. The key threshold is IMPACT: Qingyi's Core turns each Impact point ABOVE 120 into +6 ATK, capping at +600 ATK around 220 Impact — so aim for ~180-220 Impact, past 220 gives almost nothing extra. In practice substats only push her to ~184 Impact, so just maximize Impact. Substat priority: Crit Rate/Crit DMG > ATK% > PEN > Anomaly Proficiency; some Energy Regen helps EX Special uptime but should NOT go on Slot 6 (Slot 6 is always Impact).
Rotation & combos
1) OPENER: use EX Special (Flash Connect) to enter her Voltage-charging state and bank initial Voltage. 2) Spam Basic Attack to the 3rd hit to stack Voltage fast. 3) At >=75% Voltage HOLD Basic for the empowered charged attack that dumps a big chunk of Daze — holding to 100% Voltage makes it hit even harder (at a time cost). 4) Weave Dodge Counters for stability and to stack her Subjugation debuff. 5) ON STUN: quick-swap to the carry immediately — Qingyi's Subjugation raises the Stun DMG multiplier so the carry deals far more in the stun window. Repeat from step 2.
- Top-tier stunner (Tier 0 stun): builds Daze extremely fast and consistently, breaking enemies quicker than most other stunners.
- Rare buff: her Subjugation debuff directly raises the team's Stun DMG multiplier, amplifying the carry's damage in the stun window — something very few stunners provide.
- Flexible Voltage: dump at 75% for a fast stun or hold to 100% for a bigger hit — adjustable to the pace of the fight and how tanky the enemy is.
- Extremely universal: fits almost any carry, especially electric teams (Zhu Yuan, Harumasa, Soldier 0…) — F2P players can build teams around her easily.
- Pure stunner/support — cannot be a main DPS, her own damage output is low.
- Timing-dependent: you must chain Basics to the 3rd hit then hold the charged attack at the right Voltage — more execution than a passive point-and-stun unit.
- Leans heavily on M1 and her signature Ice-Jade Teapot; without them her Voltage builds slower and the stun cadence is less smooth.

Endgame mode fit
Excellent in Shiyu Defense: one of the best stunners for opening single-target burst windows — fast Daze plus her Stun DMG multiplier buff lets the carry (Zhu Yuan/Harumasa/Ellen…) clear a whole side while the enemy is stunned. rate Qingyi a high-tier stunner.
Still strong in Deadly Assault: a universal stunner that opens the window for an electric/ether carry to nuke high-HP bosses during the stun — shines most alongside a strong Attacker (Zhu Yuan, Harumasa, Soldier 0). On stages that favor pure Anomaly comps she shines a touch less but keeps her slot thanks to her versatility.

If Perfect Dodge is triggered when using the finishing strike, it directly applies Subjugation. When applying Subjugation to normal and elite enemies, the target receives double the stacks. When the target recovers from being Stunned, the corresponding stacks of Subjugation are reset.

Mindscapes — how far is worth it?
When Qingyi enters combat, Flash Connect Voltage is instantly restored to its maximum, and the accumulation rate is increased by 30%. When using her Basic Attack: Enchanted Moonlit Blossoms, if Flash Connect Voltage is at its maximum, the attack will reduce the defense of the enemy it hits by 15%, and Qingyi’s CRIT Rate against that enemy will increase by 20% for 15s. "While there will be no threat to your life, we kindly request you do not resist arrest..." The direction and intensity of the current have been precisely calculated to ensure that every suspect receives a safe electric shock experience.
The Stun DMG Multiplier increase provided by each stack of Subjugation in Core Passive: Eternal Seasons increases to 135% of its original value. When Qingyi’s attack hits an enemy and the stacks of Subjugation she applies reaches its maximum stacks, her Daze dealt to the target increases by 15%. An ancient combat technique mentioned in old texts. It seems to have started as a martial arts technique, rather than a staff technique. “Don’t be so constrained, the arm itself can be used like a three-section staff, mhm.”
Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 “Young people should be mindful of their health, and drinking more hot water is a good start.” Qingyi always appears comforted when she drinks from her thermos. But be careful if she offers you a drink– “Even 100-degree Celsius boiling water doesn’t faze her…” One Public Security Officer who encountered this left such a note.
Upon entering or exiting Flash Connect State, gain a shield equal to 10% of Qingyi’s Max HP. If a previous shield is still active when the shield effect refreshes, Qingyi generates 5 Energy. This Energy generation effect can be triggered once every 10s. By reverse-engineering Automatons from the old civilization, the White Star Institute developed the Arc Barrier, a technology that combines defense, attack, and electrical energy conversion. “As the saying goes: Water can float a boat or sink it. Physics has a saying: Electric current flows like water. Therefore: Electric current can be used both offensively and defensively. It’s a fantastic combination.”
Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv.+2 “Great, young people should be courageous and try new things. Keep it up!” It sometimes feels like Qingyi’s encouragement is lazy and teasing, but if you really get into trouble, just rely on her. After all, she’s been around for centuries and can handle anything.
The Interrupt Level of Basic Attack: Enchanted Moonlit Blossoms is greatly increased, and the CRIT DMG is increased by an additional 100% When Qingyi hits an enemy with her Basic Attack: Enchanted Moonlit Blossoms, the target’s Resistance to all Attribute DMG is increased by 20% for 15s. A theory about the human circulatory system documented in ancient texts from the old civilization. It’s said those who fully master this theory can instantly disable an opponent in a fight. “How about trying the pressure points that cause itching next time? Who should be the guinea pig? Manager? Or Zhu Yuan?”

How to read this build page
Every Agent build page has 4 parts: a stat table by level, W-Engine/Drive Disc suggestions, a Mindscape roadmap, and recommended teams. Read them in that order — stats tell you "what you need", gear tells you "where to get it", Mindscape tells you "is it worth pulling", teams tell you "who to pair with". The section below explains how to read each part, and it applies the same way to every character on the site.
How to read the stat table and level
The stat table shows values at the ascension breakpoints (usually the final one, e.g. Lv60) — these are BASE stats with no gear added, useful for comparing Agents or checking whether you've ascended far enough. CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG are shown separately because they set the damage ceiling once Drive Disc substats stack on top. If your real stats are lower than the table, you likely haven't fully ascended or leveled yet — it's not a build mistake.
Why the W-Engine and Drive Disc picks make sense
Most Agents have a "signature" W-Engine designed for their exact role, plus a few cheaper standard-banner substitutes. Missing the signature isn't a dead end — most Agents keep most of their power with a well-matched substitute, just short by some amount of total damage.
- Drive Disc sets (2pc + 4pc) are picked for the set effect that fits that Agent's playstyle (mono-element, Anomaly, stun, and so on).
- Substats follow a priority that changes by role: Attack-type Agents usually chase CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG before ATK%; Anomaly-type Agents add Anomaly Proficiency to that mix; Stun/Support roles often value survivability or energy stats over pure CRIT.
These weights differ per character — follow the exact substat priority table above rather than applying one formula to every role.
Is Mindscape worth chasing
General rule: M0 (no duplicates) already clears the game's hardest content, even for S-rank Agents. Mindscape is a duplicate-fueled upgrade system, and each level costs more resources for a smaller power gain. For most Agents, the best value stop is usually M1–M2 (where some key effects unlock), while M6 is almost always for players chasing the absolute ceiling, not a requirement. Check the Mindscape section in the table above for that specific Agent's numbers.
Skill priority by role
There's no single order for every Agent, but the general pattern by role is:
- Attack: level the main damage skill first (Basic or Special Attack depending on kit), Dash/Dodge last.
- Stun: prioritize whichever skill builds Daze/Stun fastest, since the stun window is where the whole team dumps damage.
- Support: prioritize buff or energy-generating skills over personal damage — this role's value comes from lifting the whole team.
- Anomaly: prioritize the skill that stacks anomaly buildup, since most of the damage comes from the triggered effect, not the direct hit.
Always level the Core Skill steadily alongside the rest — it's a baseline stat that affects the whole rotation, not just one move.

Qingyi FAQ
What is the best W-Engine for Qingyi?
Qingyi performs best with Ice-Jade Teapot. See alternatives and required stats in the Gear section above.
Is Qingyi worth pulling?
Qingyi is still one of the best stunners in the game: fast Daze buildup, a rare Stun Multiplier buff, and smooth quick-swaps. Very much worth building since almost any carry team can slot her in. Her drawbacks are needing to time her charged Basics correctly and benefiting heavily from her signature Ice-Jade Teapot.
What is the best team for Qingyi?
Qingyi works best in the Standard Cop Squad team. Full members and rotation are in the Teams section.
Who voices Qingyi in Zenless Zone Zero?
Qingyi (faction Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, birthday Jan 1) is voiced according to the official credits published on the HoYoverse Wiki. See the full English/Japanese/Korean/Chinese voice actor list in the "Voice Actors & Character Info" block above — this data is pulled directly from the official wiki, not guessed.
Which Mindscape of Qingyi is worth investing in?
Qingyi has 6 Mindscape tiers (M1-M6), each unlocking its own effect detailed in the "Mindscape" block above (official wording). Mindscapes cost Mindscape Cinema currency farmed from limited banners, so weigh it against your budget — F2P players usually stop at M0-M1 and prioritize W-Engine and Drive Discs before pushing Mindscape higher.
How much Denny and how many materials to level Qingyi to Lv60?
Leveling Qingyi to max Lv60 (ascension + basic skills to 12 + core skill A→F) costs roughly 1,706,000 Denny, plus role-specific ascension materials, attribute-specific skill chips, high-dimensional data, and weekly boss drops — see the full list with exact quantities in the "Materials Needed" block above, sourced from the game's official leveling tables.
