Quick verdict

Absolutely worth pulling and leveling — one of the strongest, most flexible Stunner/supports in the game, fitting into almost any team. Her near-invincible shield carries you through every hard piece of content; the only catch is that maxing her buffs wants a team with a Defensive Assist. A safe, future-proof investment.

Stat targets

Caesar is a support/stunner, so her stats are less rigid than an Attacker's but still have clear targets. Level 60 targets: Impact — beginner 150+, with signature engine 170+, without signature 150+; ATK — beginner 2,000, with signature 2,500, without signature 3,000 (no-signature builds need more ATK to make up shield & buff value). Top priority is IMPACT: it both determines her Daze for stunning and directly scales the Radiant Aegis shield HP (shield = 300% of Impact + an ATK portion). Main stats: Slot 4 Crit Rate / Anomaly Proficiency · Slot 5 ATK% (or Physical DMG) · Slot 6 Impact. Substat priority: Impact > ATK% > Crit Rate/DMG > PEN > ATK. If you're going for M6, push Crit Rate/DMG higher to exploit her damage window.

Rotation & combos

1) OPENER: enter with Caesar, use Basic / EX Special (Overwhelming Shield Bash) to raise the Radiant Aegis shield for the whole team + trigger her ATK buff (up to ~1000 ATK for the DPS) and, with M1, the -15% RES debuff. 2) BUILD DAZE: thanks to high Impact, weave Basic + EX Special to fill the enemy's stun bar; use Perfect Assist / Perfect Dodge to retaliate and refresh the shield. 3) SWAP TO DPS: while the shield + buffs are up, quick-swap to your main Attacker/Anomaly to hit in the safe window. 4) RETURN: when Energy is ready or the stun window opens, swap back to Caesar for EX Special / Chain Attack to re-stun + extend the shield, then swap out again. 5) M4: even at Energy <20 you can spend Assist Points to force an enhanced EX Special, keeping the loop unbroken.

Pros
  • Very tanky team-wide shield (~4,000-5,500 shield HP) plus a big interrupt-resistance boost — carries almost any hard content and lets your DPS face-tank without getting knocked around.
  • Huge team-wide ATK buff (up to ~1000 ATK for the DPS) — slots into almost any Attacker/Anomaly regardless of element, extremely versatile.
  • Doubles as a Stunner: high Impact gives Daze on par with a dedicated stunner, so she both tanks and opens stun windows on her own, saving a team slot.
  • Not as stat-hungry as a DPS: works well even at M0 as long as Impact is sufficient — F2P-friendly, a one-time investment that stays relevant and doesn't age out.
Cons
  • Maxing her buffs needs a team that lands Defensive/Evasive Assists on cue (especially to trigger 4-pc Proto-Punk) — somewhat demanding on playstyle and disc set.
  • The shield is time-limited (~60s) and the M1 refresh has a long cooldown — in drawn-out fights you must actively swap back to re-apply, or you lose your safety net.
  • Low personal damage without M6 — she's a pure support and can't replace the team's main Attacker slot.

Endgame mode fit

Shiyu Defense

Excellent in Shiyu Defense: she's the 'insurance' for single-target burst teams — the shield + interrupt resistance let the DPS dump full combos in the window without being knocked off, while her high Impact self-provides stun. She slots into both sides (Ice with Ellen/Lycaon, Assault/Stun with Zhu Yuan-Qingyi, Anomaly with Jane-Seth), very flexible for covering two element halves.

Deadly Assault

Also very strong in Deadly Assault: bosses are high-HP and hit hard, so Caesar's tanky shield + ATK buff + interrupt resistance keep DPS uptime steady for high scores — she shines especially in Physical Anomaly teams (Jane/Seth) or any comp needing a defender that also buffs and stuns. High confidence: established agent with settled meta data.

While Radiant Aegis is active, the shield bearer's Anti-Interrupt level is increased. While Radiant Aegis is active, the shield bearer's ATK is increased by 40. After Radiant Aegis expires, this buff remains for an additional 5s.

Mindscapes — how far is worth it?

M1 Spearhead Advance Worth it

When Caesar enters combat or switches in, she instantly buffs the entire team with a Radiant Aegis shield. This effect can trigger once every 300s. While Radiant Aegis is active, enemies within a 5m radius of the shield bearer suffer a 15% Attribute RES reduction. "Big Daddy taught me that this is when you form a spearheaded formation with overwhelming force and strike at the enemy's weakest point—" "And I'll be leading the charge, of course!"

M2 Legacy of the Far Lands Low value

While Radiant Aegis from Core Passive: Barrier of Resilience is active, Caesar's Energy Generation Rate increases by 10%, and the shield bearer's ATK boost is increased to 150% of its original value. Caesar's combat style stands out from those of New Eridu or the Outer Ring, drawing from the techniques of the most skilled warriors among the wanderers. Knowing when to hold back and when to strike decisively — that has always been the wanderer's way of survival. And Caesar has always been a good student of this philosophy.

M3 Absolute Trust Low value

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 Once Caesar recognizes someone as one of her own, she fully accepts them as part of her inner circle. She gives them absolute trust, letting her guard down completely... Just like she does with you now.

M4 Aries the Battering-Ram Situational

When Caesar uses a Chain Attack or Ultimate, she gains 3 additional Assist Points. If her Energy is below 20, she can activate EX Special Attack: Overpowered Shield Bash with 1 Assist Point instead. This substitution can trigger once every 5s. One of the tactics Caesar mastered under the guidance of the wanderers. "No matter what, I'll fight till the last moment!"

M5 Romantic Conquest Low value

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 Behind Caesar's carefree and unpolished appearance lies a romantic at heart. She's always curious about love stories. But if you dig a little deeper into the subject... you might just catch her blushing.

M6 Overlord's Will Worth it

EX Special Attack: Overpowered Shield Bash and Assist Follow-Up are guaranteed to trigger a critical hit. The skill's DMG is increased by 50% and deals additional 50% DMG to the primary target. When Caesar uses EX Special Attack: Overpowered Shield Bash or Assist Follow-Up, her CRIT Rate is increased by 30% and her CRIT DMG is increased by 60% for 15s. "I used to keep my eyes straight ahead, thinking that as long as I was strong enough, I could do anything." "But being a great leader takes more than just power." "I need to protect my friends behind me — they are the reason I can keep going."

Background & Lore

Caesar: Leader of the Sons of Calydon biker gang, and also a "monarch" in the making. Her combination of formidable strength and bold, straightforward personality has earned her the love and respect of the Outer Ring's residents. Although she appears to do things in her own way, she is actually very willing to listen to others' opinions. Caesar actively listens to and implements any valid suggestion she hears — regardless of who it comes from. She is completely defenseless against those she trusts. Once she accepts someone, she considers them part of her inner circle, treating them with absolute trust. (Assumption: Caesar currently views you in this way.) Caesar's father has been missing for as long as she can remember, and her mother passed away from illness when she was young. She was raised by Big Daddy, who took a very hands-off approach to raising her, allowing her to grow up freely and independently. In addition, Caesar seems to have a curious interest in matters related to romance. If you wish to get closer to her, you might want to try discussing this topic with her. Increase Trust to Close to unlock more Caesar's father was the leader of a biker gang called "Calydon," which carved out a legendary reputation in the Outer Ring. The "Sons of Calydon" take their name from this legacy. Caesar has a fear of needles. "They're so tiny and thin, and it only stings for a second when you're pricked — but then all this blood comes out. It's so weird — and definitely not straightforward at all!" Belle Big Daddy looks cultured and sophisticated, but Caesar's a different kettle of fish… But even though she often gets her idioms wrong, Caesar's still very cute! Wise Earning the trust of Outer Ring's Overlord is a pretty big deal. We should really appreciate that. Of course, it'd be nice if Caesar could make fewer typos in her DMs to us.

More unlocks as Trust with this character increases in-game.

How to read this build page

Every Agent build page has 4 parts: a stat table by level, W-Engine/Drive Disc suggestions, a Mindscape roadmap, and recommended teams. Read them in that order — stats tell you "what you need", gear tells you "where to get it", Mindscape tells you "is it worth pulling", teams tell you "who to pair with". The section below explains how to read each part, and it applies the same way to every character on the site.

How to read the stat table and level

The stat table shows values at the ascension breakpoints (usually the final one, e.g. Lv60) — these are BASE stats with no gear added, useful for comparing Agents or checking whether you've ascended far enough. CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG are shown separately because they set the damage ceiling once Drive Disc substats stack on top. If your real stats are lower than the table, you likely haven't fully ascended or leveled yet — it's not a build mistake.

Why the W-Engine and Drive Disc picks make sense

Most Agents have a "signature" W-Engine designed for their exact role, plus a few cheaper standard-banner substitutes. Missing the signature isn't a dead end — most Agents keep most of their power with a well-matched substitute, just short by some amount of total damage.

  • Drive Disc sets (2pc + 4pc) are picked for the set effect that fits that Agent's playstyle (mono-element, Anomaly, stun, and so on).
  • Substats follow a priority that changes by role: Attack-type Agents usually chase CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG before ATK%; Anomaly-type Agents add Anomaly Proficiency to that mix; Stun/Support roles often value survivability or energy stats over pure CRIT.

These weights differ per character — follow the exact substat priority table above rather than applying one formula to every role.

Is Mindscape worth chasing

General rule: M0 (no duplicates) already clears the game's hardest content, even for S-rank Agents. Mindscape is a duplicate-fueled upgrade system, and each level costs more resources for a smaller power gain. For most Agents, the best value stop is usually M1–M2 (where some key effects unlock), while M6 is almost always for players chasing the absolute ceiling, not a requirement. Check the Mindscape section in the table above for that specific Agent's numbers.

Skill priority by role

There's no single order for every Agent, but the general pattern by role is:

  • Attack: level the main damage skill first (Basic or Special Attack depending on kit), Dash/Dodge last.
  • Stun: prioritize whichever skill builds Daze/Stun fastest, since the stun window is where the whole team dumps damage.
  • Support: prioritize buff or energy-generating skills over personal damage — this role's value comes from lifting the whole team.
  • Anomaly: prioritize the skill that stacks anomaly buildup, since most of the damage comes from the triggered effect, not the direct hit.

Always level the Core Skill steadily alongside the rest — it's a baseline stat that affects the whole rotation, not just one move.

Where to dig deeper

This section only teaches you how to read the page — for deeper comparisons, use the dedicated tools:

  • Teams for full in-game comps, including Bangboo and rotation order.
  • Disc score to check how your current gear scores against the benchmark.

Caesar FAQ

What is the best W-Engine for Caesar?

Caesar performs best with Tusks of Fury. See alternatives and required stats in the Gear section above.

Is Caesar worth pulling?

Absolutely worth pulling and leveling — one of the strongest, most flexible Stunner/supports in the game, fitting into almost any team. Her near-invincible shield carries you through every hard piece of content; the only catch is that maxing her buffs wants a team with a Defensive Assist. A safe, future-proof investment.

What is the best team for Caesar?

Caesar works best in the Physical Anomaly team. Full members and rotation are in the Teams section.

Who voices Caesar in Zenless Zone Zero?

Caesar (faction Sons of Calydon, birthday Mar 16) is voiced according to the official credits published on the HoYoverse Wiki. See the full English/Japanese/Korean/Chinese voice actor list in the "Voice Actors & Character Info" block above — this data is pulled directly from the official wiki, not guessed.

Which Mindscape of Caesar is worth investing in?

Caesar has 6 Mindscape tiers (M1-M6), each unlocking its own effect detailed in the "Mindscape" block above (official wording). Mindscapes cost Mindscape Cinema currency farmed from limited banners, so weigh it against your budget — F2P players usually stop at M0-M1 and prioritize W-Engine and Drive Discs before pushing Mindscape higher.

How much Denny and how many materials to level Caesar to Lv60?

Leveling Caesar to max Lv60 (ascension + basic skills to 12 + core skill A→F) costs roughly 1,706,000 Denny, plus role-specific ascension materials, attribute-specific skill chips, high-dimensional data, and weekly boss drops — see the full list with exact quantities in the "Materials Needed" block above, sourced from the game's official leveling tables.
