Quick verdict

Worth leveling if you run Rupture teams (Yixuan, Manato, Yidhari)—he's a rare Defense unit that both shields and buffs the whole team's ATK. Strong in survivability and utility, weak in personal damage, so don't expect him to carry on his own.

Stat targets

Targets + aim for ~3,000 ATK (roughly 12-13 ATK% sub rolls) AND as much Energy Regen as possible. Why 3,000 ATK: his Core Passive converts 9-18% of ATK into Sheer Force capped at 540 Pt (M0) — at ~3,000 ATK, 18% = 540, so you exactly HIT THE CAP and extra ATK adds no more Sheer Force. Main stats: Disc 4 ATK%; Disc 5 ATK% or Physical DMG; Disc 6 Energy Regen (favored to feed the EX/Ult loop) or ATK%. Substats: ATK% > flat ATK > Energy Regen. CRIT is essentially ignored since he deals no personal damage.

Rotation & combos

Positioning: place the Rupture DPS (Yixuan) DIRECTLY BEFORE Pan Yinhu, since his EX Special triggers a Quick Assist to the preceding character. 1) Enter via Parry/Quick Assist. 2) Fire EX Special 'Tieshan Break Force' to apply both buffs (Sheer Force + damage amp) over ~4s and use Touch of Death to inflict Depleted Qi. 3) Quick Assist straight to Yixuan; Pan Yinhu off-field AUTO-casts his Special to keep the amp up. 4) Repeat EX Special ~every 25s to refresh buffs, Touch of Death ~every 10s (up to 3 times inside the EX window). 5) Ultimate when the team needs healing or when energy is full. A simple, low-input loop.

Pros
  • A rare Defender who both buffs damage AND heals + shields the whole party — perfect for 3.0's endurance-heavy content, keeping the team alive while still contributing offense.
  • Delivers Sheer Force + damage amp to a Rupture DPS at premium-support level:rate his Yixuan support as COMPARABLE to Astra Yao — yet he's a cheap A-rank.
  • Depleted Qi (+20% DMG taken, M1→+30%) applies to the ENTIRE team rather than just Rupture, so he still adds value alongside off-type allies.
  • Simple, low-input rotation — easy for newcomers; being an A-rank makes dupes for M2/M6 very accessible.
Cons
  • His signature Sheer Force buff ONLY works on Rupture agents — currently near-exclusive to Yixuan; in a non-Rupture team you lose his strongest buff.
  • Near-zero personal damage — pure support/tank, can't carry, fully reliant on the team's DPS.
  • His value is boxed in by the tiny current pool of Rupture DPS; team variety hinges on Hoyoverse releasing more Rupture characters.

Endgame mode fit

Shiyu Defense

In Shiyu Defense, Pan Yinhu only shines when you build a single-target Rupture team around Yixuan (plus a Stunner like Ju Fufu/Qingyi) — his Sheer Force + damage amp push Yixuan's burst inside the stun window. Outside a Rupture comp his value drops, so his Shiyu rating hinges entirely on owning Yixuan (as a support he rides the DPS's placement).

Deadly Assault

Deadly Assault is his best stage: a long endurance mode with high-HP foes that demands survivability — Pan Yinhu's healing + 8s regen + shield let the team outlast the long waves while keeping the damage amp on Yixuan. highlights his heal-plus-buff kit as very valuable in the drawn-out season-2 content. (Still only strong within a Rupture team.)

Core Skill2

Core Passive: Meridian Enlightenment

This effect provides a Sheer Force boost equal to 9% of Pan Yinhu's initial ATK and lasts for 25s. The Sheer Force provided by this effect cannot exceed 540 points.*Stats shown are at Base level.

Additional Ability: Iron Stomach
When another character in your squad is a Rupture character or shares the same Faction:When Pan Yinhu hits an enemy with Special Attack: Touch of Death, the enemy suffers the Depleted Qi effect, increasing all DMG against the target by 20%. Each hit of Special Attack: Touch of Death inflicts a 10s Depleted Qi effect. This effect can't stack, but repeated hits on the same enemy will extend the duration.

Mindscapes — how far is worth it?

M1 Qi Shield Situational

All units deal 10% increased DMG to enemies affected by Depleted Qi. This Yunkui technique wards off the external flow of Ether while reinforcing your inner meridians and muscles. With qi acting as a shield, no blade or spear can pierce it — this is Pan Yinhu's secret to enduring every blow. Side note: this trick comes in extra handy when you're elbow-to-elbow with aunties and uncles fighting over supermarket sale items.

M2 Yunkui Pressure-Point Strike Worth it

For every 6 points of Break Force consumed, Pan Yinhu will recover 4 Energy, and the Depleted Qi effect applied when Special Attack: Touch of Death hits an enemy will have its duration increased to 12s. "Heh, can't move an inch now, can you, thief?" "This technique is called Yunkui Pressure-Point Strike — it both paralyzes the body and clears the meridians — it's our sect's ultimate technique for punishing evil and upholding justice!" "...Eh? You mean my grip was so strong that you just went numb? ...Alright then — can you move or not?

M3 Non-Meridian Pressure Point Low value

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 "These pressure points are a lot like us Panda Thirens." "They're few and scattered, don't fit into any one system, and hardly anyone's ever studied them. It's a shame." "But they really catch people off guard as a surprise weapon. Pretty great, right?"

M4 First-Class Head Chef Situational

When Ultimate: A Feast Fit for an Emperor! heals all squad members, the HP recovery is increased by 25%, and the healing over time effect is increased by 25%. On activating Ultimate: A Feast Fit for an Emperor!, gain the Backup Provisions effect. Whenever any character in the squad loses HP, consume the Backup Provisions effect to instantly restore 50% of the HP recovered with Ultimate: A Feast Fit for an Emperor!'s instant HP recovery effect. This effect cannot stack. The first time he cooked, he nearly set the stove on fire. Among those who rushed to help was a chef who, looking at the pile of burnt food, used the unused eggs to make him a plate of fried rice. He wolfed it down with tears in his eyes. When he finally looked up, the cook was holding out a slip of paper with "100" written on it. "I understand, Master! You're teaching me in cooking, you have to give it 100%, right?" "No, I'm saying it's 100 Dennies per bite, and you've had over a hundred bites. Time to pay up." From that day on, Pan Yinhu insisted on cooking for himself and never messed up again. And that's how a first-class chef was born.

M5 "Thiren" Low value

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 In the sprawling city of New Eridu, Panda Thirens are extremely rare. He's always bristled at curious stares and long ago gotten used to living a lonely life with nobody to support him. It wasn't until he became an apprentice on Yunkui Summit that he stopped feeling so isolated. And once he realized that many citizens would even pay to take a photo with a Panda Thiren... he no longer minded the stares.

M6 Meridian Theory Worth it

The Meridian Flow effect provided by Core Passive: Meridian Enlightenment increases by an extra 6% of Pan Yinhu's initial ATK. The maximum Sheer Force provided by this effect increases to 720. "There's an old saying that there are 365 pressure points in the feet. Funny — it's the same with how we live our lives." "Here — pick whichever point you like from this chart." "That point represents your current way of life — where it is or what it does doesn't matter. As long as you like it, that's enough." "And what good is choosing it, you ask? Let me think... Ah, of course. Next time I deal with some thieves, that's the point I'll target!"

Background & Lore

Pan Yinhu, disciple of Yunkui Summit, serves as both the head chef and financial manager of Suibian Temple. He's proficient in martial arts, and an expert in pressure-point techniques. As the one managing Suibian Temple's money, he's a master at keeping costs down and can bargain a 5,000 Denny piece of meat down to 500. If he can make something at home, he refuses to purchase it at a store, and no matter which big supermarket or shop you name, he's got a coupon for it tucked in his pocket. Thanks to him, the members of Suibian Temple enjoy delicious yet budget-friendly meals every day. As the head of the kitchen, he demands precise flavor profiles and pays keen attention to his friends' opinions. What's more, given his years of frugality, it's safe to assume that both the group's treasury and his secret piggy bank have ballooned to jaw-dropping levels. Increase Trust to Close to unlock more Being a Panda Thiren, an exceedingly rare sight in New Eridu, Pan Yinhu has scraped by on his own since he was a child. Only someone who's truly known starvation understands its terror, and to fill his belly he sampled every trade he could find. In the end, his remarkable Ether aptitude led him to become a Hollow Raider. As a Hollow Raider, he had a chance encounter with Yixuan. Following a harsh beating and a sudden spiritual awakening, he opted to become a disciple of Yunkui Summit, where he now practices the mystic arts to cleanse his then-increasingly violent nature. Because he joined the sect later than most, he actually has very few junior disciples — and you, Master, are one of them. As your senior, he shows his care by cooking special dishes just for you and constantly sneaking store coupons into your pockets. Belle Every time we're about to order takeout, Senior Yinhu immediately pipes up to stop us, saying takeout isn't good for you, then offers to whip up whatever we want in the kitchen... We haven't ordered takeout in months! Wise His cooking really can't be beat, except for the fact he occasionally holds back on the meat... I really want to learn some of his recipes.

How to read this build page

Every Agent build page has 4 parts: a stat table by level, W-Engine/Drive Disc suggestions, a Mindscape roadmap, and recommended teams. Read them in that order — stats tell you "what you need", gear tells you "where to get it", Mindscape tells you "is it worth pulling", teams tell you "who to pair with". The section below explains how to read each part, and it applies the same way to every character on the site.

How to read the stat table and level

The stat table shows values at the ascension breakpoints (usually the final one, e.g. Lv60) — these are BASE stats with no gear added, useful for comparing Agents or checking whether you've ascended far enough. CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG are shown separately because they set the damage ceiling once Drive Disc substats stack on top. If your real stats are lower than the table, you likely haven't fully ascended or leveled yet — it's not a build mistake.

Why the W-Engine and Drive Disc picks make sense

Most Agents have a "signature" W-Engine designed for their exact role, plus a few cheaper standard-banner substitutes. Missing the signature isn't a dead end — most Agents keep most of their power with a well-matched substitute, just short by some amount of total damage.

  • Drive Disc sets (2pc + 4pc) are picked for the set effect that fits that Agent's playstyle (mono-element, Anomaly, stun, and so on).
  • Substats follow a priority that changes by role: Attack-type Agents usually chase CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG before ATK%; Anomaly-type Agents add Anomaly Proficiency to that mix; Stun/Support roles often value survivability or energy stats over pure CRIT.

These weights differ per character — follow the exact substat priority table above rather than applying one formula to every role.

Is Mindscape worth chasing

General rule: M0 (no duplicates) already clears the game's hardest content, even for S-rank Agents. Mindscape is a duplicate-fueled upgrade system, and each level costs more resources for a smaller power gain. For most Agents, the best value stop is usually M1–M2 (where some key effects unlock), while M6 is almost always for players chasing the absolute ceiling, not a requirement. Check the Mindscape section in the table above for that specific Agent's numbers.

Skill priority by role

There's no single order for every Agent, but the general pattern by role is:

  • Attack: level the main damage skill first (Basic or Special Attack depending on kit), Dash/Dodge last.
  • Stun: prioritize whichever skill builds Daze/Stun fastest, since the stun window is where the whole team dumps damage.
  • Support: prioritize buff or energy-generating skills over personal damage — this role's value comes from lifting the whole team.
  • Anomaly: prioritize the skill that stacks anomaly buildup, since most of the damage comes from the triggered effect, not the direct hit.

Always level the Core Skill steadily alongside the rest — it's a baseline stat that affects the whole rotation, not just one move.

Pan Yinhu FAQ

What is the best W-Engine for Pan Yinhu?

Pan Yinhu performs best with Tusks of Fury. See alternatives and required stats in the Gear section above.

Is Pan Yinhu worth pulling?

Worth leveling if you run Rupture teams (Yixuan, Manato, Yidhari)—he's a rare Defense unit that both shields and buffs the whole team's ATK. Strong in survivability and utility, weak in personal damage, so don't expect him to carry on his own.

What is the best team for Pan Yinhu?

Pan Yinhu works best in the Rupture Yixuan team. Full members and rotation are in the Teams section.

Who voices Pan Yinhu in Zenless Zone Zero?

Pan Yinhu (faction Yunkui Summit, birthday May 10) is voiced according to the official credits published on the HoYoverse Wiki. See the full English/Japanese/Korean/Chinese voice actor list in the "Voice Actors & Character Info" block above — this data is pulled directly from the official wiki, not guessed.

Which Mindscape of Pan Yinhu is worth investing in?

Pan Yinhu has 6 Mindscape tiers (M1-M6), each unlocking its own effect detailed in the "Mindscape" block above (official wording). Mindscapes cost Mindscape Cinema currency farmed from limited banners, so weigh it against your budget — F2P players usually stop at M0-M1 and prioritize W-Engine and Drive Discs before pushing Mindscape higher.

How much Denny and how many materials to level Pan Yinhu to Lv60?

Leveling Pan Yinhu to max Lv60 (ascension + basic skills to 12 + core skill A→F) costs roughly 1,706,000 Denny, plus role-specific ascension materials, attribute-specific skill chips, high-dimensional data, and weekly boss drops — see the full list with exact quantities in the "Materials Needed" block above, sourced from the game's official leveling tables.
