Unlock requirements

Unlocks at Trailblaze Level 21. This is a system-level gate (no player-facing quest name, no NPC dialogue required) — the lowest bar of the four modes since Memory of Chaos is the first endgame mode most Trailblazers reach.

How it plays & how scoring works

Forgotten Hall

The Forgotten Hall involves a number of challenging stages. Defeat all enemies in each stage of the Forgotten Hall to complete the challenge and claim gratifying rewards. In addition, bonus rewards can be obtained by fulfilling specific stage bonus conditions. Equilibrium Levels will not affect the difficulty and rewards in Forgotten Hall stages.

Stages and rewards in the Forgotten Hall are regularly updated.

Forgotten Hall contains two types of stages, "Memory" and "Memory of Chaos." The former involves stages that will be unlocked gradually as you continue your exploration, while the latter features stages of higher difficulty with content and rewards updated periodically.

You will be temporarily cut off from the outside world when entering the Forgotten Hall, with the following actions temporarily disabled:

Changing team setups Changing, leveling up, or ascending Light Cones and Relics Leveling up or ascending characters Using Consumables in your Inventory

Memory Turbulence

The Forgotten Hall features unique rules, with each stage having a different stage effect that adds to the dynamics of combat, making each stage challenging in its own way.

Cycles

All battles taking place in the Forgotten Hall must be won within a certain number of cycles. When you run out of cycles, the challenge will fail.

The remaining cycles will be displayed in the Action Order on the left-hand side as a countdown. Complete the challenge within the designated turns and meet specific stage bonus conditions to obtain bonus rewards.

Quick Unlock

The highest Memory of Chaos stage that you passed with 3-stars will be recorded. Whenever a new period starts, the recorded stage and all prior stages will be immediately unlocked according to your past performance.

After performing quick unlock, you can directly challenge the highest stage that you passed with 3-stars. Once you have passed that stage with 3-stars, all the previous stages will be immediately cleared with a 3-star rating, and all rewards from those stages will be delivered.

After the Starward Mode launches, no more than the first 10 stages can be immediately unlocked in this way.

Starward Mode

Clear Stage 11 of Forgotten Hall to automatically unlock Starward Mode, and Stage 12 of Starward Mode will be unlocked.

Rules

Accumulate 36 stars and the Prismatic Star to obtain this period's Forgotten Hall Limited-Time Clearance Medal.

Clearing Stage 12 of Starward Mode requires challenging 3 Nodes, and 3-star challenge records are shared with Stage 12 of the Regular Mode. Clear Stage 12 of Starward Mode with 3 stars and 33 or more Cycles remaining to obtain the Prismatic Star and additional new rewards. You can switch back to Regular Mode at any time to challenge Stage 12 of the regular Forgotten Hall and obtain the original rewards.

Refresh cycle

The full floor/enemy/buff lineup changes once per game version (~6 weeks, same cadence as Pure Fiction/Apocalyptic Shadow) — the history of past seasons shows only 1-2 new Memory of Chaos seasons are released per version.

What makes it different

12 floors of rising difficulty, each floor being two independent battles (nodes) with different elemental enemy compositions — a team built for node 1 isn't necessarily usable on node 2 of the same floor. Each battle has a FIXED 30-Cycle limit at every one of the 12 floors — it does NOT grow with floor number, only the enemies get proportionally stronger as floors rise. Each floor's 3 stars are judged on three separate criteria: clearing both nodes within the Cycle limit, losing no more than 1 character, and a tighter Cycle-remaining threshold. A random seasonal buff applies across all 12 floors uniformly, not changing between floors.

This list is taken directly from the official game data, ordered by the sequence in the source file — not necessarily real-world release order, since the data has no start/end date per season. Some VERY OLD seasons (from before the Equilibrium Level system unified all difficulty tiers) shared the same name across multiple season codes — duplicate-named rows have been merged down to one row per distinct season name. The newest season, not yet publicly named by the studio, has been excluded from the list to avoid guessing.

Common mistakes

  • Not reading the season's Memory Turbulence buff before building teams — the buff changes every season, so last season's strong team might not fit anymore.
  • Putting your whole main team into one half and running out of characters for the other half — each floor's two halves have different Weakness elements, so you need the right element for each half.
  • Skipping Quick Unlock — you don't need to replay from Floor 1 every season; your best 3-star progress from last season auto-unlocks the matching floor.

Frequently asked questions

How often does the Memory of Chaos season change?

Per the game's own rules, Treasures Lightward's three modes rotate every two weeks in the order Apocalyptic Shadow → Pure Fiction → Forgotten Hall: Memory of Chaos, updating at 4:00 AM server time on Mondays; once a mode updates, its floors/enemies stay open for 6 weeks.

How does scoring or ranking work in Memory of Chaos?

There's no point score — each floor has a Cycle limit shown as a countdown on the left side of the screen. Clearing within the Cycle limit plus meeting the floor's bonus condition (e.g. a minimum number of Cycles left, no downed allies) earns the full 3 stars; running out of Cycles fails the whole floor.

Do you lose resources for losing or running out of Cycles?

No consumable resources are lost — losing simply means you don't earn that floor's stars, and you can re-challenge immediately with no limit on attempts; your base resources aren't deducted for a loss.
