Unlock requirements

Shares the same system-level gate as Pure Fiction (Trailblaze Level 40, identical unlock condition), but has its own prerequisite chain: clearing «The Public Enemy» leads to the gating quest «Grim Film of Finality» — completing that is what opens Apocalyptic Shadow.

How it plays & how scoring works

In Apocalyptic Shadow, Trailblazers must face projections of Finality and defeat bosses they have faced before.

◆ Gameplay Rules ◆

● Treasures Lightward is a new series of permanent game modes with higher difficulty that refreshes periodically, including the Forgotten Hall: Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction, and Apocalyptic Shadow.

● After completing The Last Vestiges of Towering Citadel: Memory (XV), Forgotten Hall: Memory of Chaos will be unlocked.

● After completing the Adventure Mission "Youci's Clever Decor," Pure Fiction will be unlocked.

● After completing the Adventure Mission "Grim Film of Finality," Apocalyptic Shadow will be unlocked.

● Treasures Lightward will periodically refresh the stage contents and rewards.

◆ Refresh Rules ◆

● Treasures Lightward will update alternatively every two weeks in the following order: Apocalyptic Shadow, Pure Fiction, then Forgotten Hall: Memory of Chaos. Updates occur at 04:00 on Mondays (server time).

● After the Treasures Lightward game refreshes, the updated mode will remain open for 6 weeks.

Refresh cycle

The full boss/buff set changes every 6 weeks, per the official studio announcement. Runs on the same version-length cadence as Pure Fiction, typically staggered 2-4 weeks within the version so the three modes don't all flip at once.

What makes it different

Doesn't split into numbered 'floors' like the two above — instead it's 4 DIFFICULTY tiers of the same boss pair for the season, each difficulty holding 2 nodes, each node a single two-phase, high-HP boss. Scoring is based on the % of boss HP depleted within a fixed Action Value (a time-based turn-order unit) limit rather than counting Cycles like the other modes. Breaking the boss's Weakness temporarily strips its damage-reduction shield and grants the team stacking beneficial effects; nodes can be tackled in either order, not forced sequentially. The biggest distinguishing trait: of the three older modes (pre-AA), this is the only one letting you swap a single node's team independently without wiping the other node's progress.

Score targets for stars (Difficulty 4)

Source: the real point totals needed for each star tier at the current season's Difficulty 4, not an estimate.

Difficulty 4 (Regular Mode)

1★ — 4,000 points 2★ — 5,200 points 3★ — 6,600 points

Starward Mode

Unlocks automatically after clearing Difficulty 3. This mode's Difficulty 4 adds a 3rd boss, so you challenge 3 Nodes instead of 2, and star targets are 1.5x the regular ones.

1★ — 6,000 points 2★ — 7,800 points 3★ — 9,900 points
  • Reach 10,200 points in Starward Mode Difficulty 4 → get a Prismatic Star plus additional rewards unique to this period.
  • Collect 12 stars total plus the Prismatic Star in the same period → also earn that period's limited-time clearance medal.
  • You can switch back to Regular Mode at any time to fight the original Difficulty 4 (2 bosses, 2 Nodes) and still get the original rewards — Starward Mode is optional.

This list is taken directly from the official game data, ordered by the sequence in the source file — not necessarily real-world release order, since the data has no start/end date per season. Some VERY OLD seasons (from before the Equilibrium Level system unified all difficulty tiers) shared the same name across multiple season codes — duplicate-named rows have been merged down to one row per distinct season name. The newest season, not yet publicly named by the studio, has been excluded from the list to avoid guessing.

Common mistakes

  • Not engaging with the season's special Boss mechanic and just attacking normally — each season's Boss usually has one mechanic you must trigger to actually optimize your damage.
  • Using the same team for both halves despite different Weakness elements — a team that never switches elements tends to fight slower and run out of Cycles.
  • Forgetting to check the star conditions before entering — missing a bonus condition (like a minimum Cycles-left requirement) costs you stars even if you win the fight.

Frequently asked questions

How is Apocalyptic Shadow different from the other two modes?

It's a single-Boss fight — each season you only face one boss, but that boss gets its own mechanic/buff every season, instead of many floors of smaller enemies like Memory of Chaos or Pure Fiction.

How many battles does Apocalyptic Shadow have and how are stars scored?

There are 2 halves (two different copies/moments of the same Boss), each scored separately by Cycles plus a bonus condition; the combined stars from both halves determine your rewards — you're not clearing many floors like the other two modes.

Is Apocalyptic Shadow affected by Equilibrium Level?

No — the difficulty and rewards of Apocalyptic Shadow (like the other two Treasures Lightward modes) don't change with the Trailblazer's Equilibrium Level; everyone fights at the same difficulty.
