The higher the number, the more often enemies target them. This is the Path baseline, before any character-specific modifiers.
Why the Path decides your Light Cone: Some Relic sets (the Head piece of a 4-piece Cavern Relic set) and Planar Ornament sets (Sphere/Rope) carry an EXTRA passive condition: it only triggers if the wearer's Path matches the set's specified Path(s) — e.g. "Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise" grants a bonus effect (official-verified coefficient: +10%) on top of its base buff, only when the Path condition is met. This is why matching a character's Path to the set is essential — wear it on the wrong Path and you keep the base buff but lose the bonus passive. (The exact per-set Path list hasn't been publicly disclosed by the developer — check the in-game set description before equipping rather than guessing.)

This is a SEPARATE system inside the Simulated Universe roguelike mode, not a character's actual Path. New players often mix the two up.

Survival-oriented — boosts the whole team's staying power.

CRIT / extra-turn / follow-up oriented — increases action frequency.

Ultimate-oriented — funnels resources into big Ultimates.

Preservation and Abundance have no dedicated Blessing Path in Simulated Universe (as of last recorded version) — not fabricated.
Characters who can Switch Path
Two characters can SWITCH Path: the Trailblazer (5 Paths depending on story branch: Destruction/Preservation/Harmony/Remembrance/Nihility) and March 7th (2 Paths: Preservation/Hunt). Rule: you cannot field two different Path-forms of the SAME character in the SAME team — whichever form you pick, the team only counts that one role.
