Zayne examines the Main Character and reports that her cardiac function index has risen significantly since the explosion, likely due to Metaflux exposure; she should have had at least three months of rest and observation, but he made an exception for her early discharge given the circumstances — now, seeing her current state, he somewhat regrets that decision. When she asks why the explosion happened, Zayne silently hands her a box — a keepsake Grandma entrusted to him before her death, asking that it be given to the Main Character, possibly holding the answers she's searching for; he isn't sure what else Grandma said beyond that request. Just as the Main Character starts to ask more, she senses a Protofield forming — a Wanderer stronger than any she's faced before appears suddenly, cutting the emotional moment short and forcing both of them into combat mode, setting aside 'doctor's orders' for now. This chapter hands the Main Character an important clue from Grandma while kicking off the sudden battle that continues directly into 04-09.
