At the mission debrief, Jenna reveals that Onychinus is using Protocores of unknown origin to carry out dangerous modifications — the Protocurve data from the recovered Protocore doesn't match anything in the system even after three checks, suggesting either an entirely unknown type of Protocore or one serving a completely different purpose. The Association plans to use the Main Character's unique Evol — the one that unlocked the Flux Nexus back in 03-06 — to help identify more samples like it. During the conversation, Jenna mentions, for the first time, the name of Onychinus's leader: Sylus. Xavier is present but barely engaged, sitting hunched over an OTTO pillow, staring off into space. This is a pivotal chapter: the first reveal of the story's central antagonist's identity, following directly from 03-09, opening the Onychinus investigation arc that will shape the rest of the storyline, and leading into the private conversation and partner decision in 03-11.
