Mysterious Light
The Main Character's new squad, alongside teammate Tara, is remotely commanded by Captain Jenna to investigate an abnormal Metaflux energy explosion at the abandoned EVER Protocore research facility. The pair split up to search: Tara scouts the perimeter while the Main Character heads deeper inside. In the lower levels, she discovers an unconscious, unfamiliar Hunter bearing traces of Metaflux as if he'd just been attacked, and immediately calls for backup. The measured threat level (B) doesn't match the strength of the initial energy fluctuation, leaving the Main Character suspicious that something is being concealed. Xavier makes his spoiler appearance here as the mysterious stranger, though his identity is not yet revealed. This chapter opens a mystery thread that runs through 01-05, leading directly into the first battle in 01-03 and the fateful encounter with the stranger in 01-04.
