The Main Character officially reports to Alpha Team headquarters, a twenty-story building housing everything from Intelligence to Protocore Research to the Armory. The AI assistant OTTO-CSE scans her and notes she slept less than four hours last night, with extremely poor quality — a direct consequence of the giant-eye scare that ended 01-09, which sent her rushing outside to check for energy fluctuations she never found. There she meets Nero from Data Analysis, someone obsessed with Wanderers, and receives her first mission as an official Alpha Team member. Jenna also appears, overseeing the squad. This chapter unlocks the article on Stendhal syndrome / haunted paintings, a Spacepedia entry on 270HM, and a note on Nero. It's a hinge chapter: it picks up directly from the eerie hook in 01-09 and formally kicks off the investigation into Raymond's mansion that runs through chapters 02-02 to 02-10.
