On the train ride back, Tara reports that Data Analysis just found a stone stele covered in strange patterns and symbols in the very area they'd been monitoring at the abandoned research base — unusual, since that facility was dedicated to Protocore research. The moment the train exits the tunnel, a Wanderer appears outside during the crowded evening rush, forcing the Main Character to act immediately to calm passengers and handle the threat. Meanwhile, Jenna radios in to assign Xavier as the Main Character's 'dropped-in' teammate, since the new discovery at the abandoned base requires more manpower. Surprisingly, Xavier immediately admits he already knows the Main Character, catching Jenna off guard, though she still stresses that the Main Character's unique abilities need protecting — to which Xavier simply replies, 'She doesn't need protection.' This chapter formally brings Xavier back as an official companion after his mysterious disappearance in 01-05, unlocks a Spacepedia entry on Universum, and leads directly into the No-Hunt Zone No.7 mission arc that runs through Chapter 03.
