Heard About It
The Main Character visits the Flux Arts gallery and speaks with what she assumes is a voice assistant — it turns out to be a hologram calling itself the 'embodiment of inspiration and thought' of Rafayel himself, its voice cold yet laced with nonchalance. The hologram leads her to a private exhibition room missing its painting (the very one Raymond purchased) and instead projects it via hologram — still the blue sea with white waves, but subtly different from the original. When asked about the story behind the painting, Rafayel's voice (through the hologram) suddenly softens with an indescribable sadness, beginning to recount a childhood dream in which he turned into... (the line is cut short). His manager Thomas then appears, gives the Main Character Rafayel's address, and asks her to personally check on him, sensing something is wrong. This chapter closes out the indirect, hologram-mediated investigation and paves the way for the Main Character's first face-to-face meeting with the real Rafayel in 02-08.
