After waiting for hours with no sign of her partner and the signal growing weaker, the Main Character decides to enter the No-Hunt Zone alone, against orders. She quickly gets lost — no matter which way she goes, the surroundings look identical, as if the forest is deceiving her senses. Amid a Wanderer's growl, she spots someone calming the creature instead of attacking it. Looking closer, she immediately recognizes him: the mysterious stranger from the abandoned research base (01-02). He initially doesn't seem to recognize her, forcing her to recall the details of their prior meeting — including the promise of secrecy he once asked of her. This is a crucial reunion chapter: it confirms Xavier is the one present in the No-Hunt Zone, though whether he's officially her 'assigned partner' remains unclear. Following directly from 03-01, it opens a string of intimate interactions between the two that runs through 03-03 to 03-05.
