Saying Goodbye
This chapter is a memory-dream: a recollection of the day the Main Character and Grandma saw Caleb off to the Aerospace Academy all the way in Skyhaven. In the memory, Caleb teases her not to be sad, while Grandma reassures her that he'll be back for the holidays and will cook for her every day when he does. Caleb uses his Evol to sneak a peek at the farewell gift the Main Character had prepared — an apple-shaped necklace — and she puts it around his neck herself just before the train departs. This chapter has no Wanderers or missions, purely a warm memory shared between the three of them: the Main Character, Caleb, and Grandma (Josephine). Placed right after both of their deaths in 04-03/04-04, this dream becomes all the more heartbreaking — it reveals the apple necklace as a keepsake tied to an entire childhood, while also hinting at the deep reason the Main Character cannot accept this was merely a random accident.
