The 4-piece scales CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG with the number of debuffs on the target and doubles that bonus for a turn right after inflicting a debuff, while the 2-piece adds flat DMG vs debuffed enemies, making this a best-in-slot pick for crit-focused debuff/DoT DPS.

What main stat to run, by role

Getting the main stat on the right slot is the baseline — substats aimed the right direction decide your real power. The table below is a default framework by role, useful for a quick lookup before you know a specific character's kit.
BodyFeetPlanar SphereLink RopeSub-stat priority
Main DPSCRIT Rate or CRIT DMGATK% or SPDthe character's own Elemental DMG BoostATK% (or Break Effect for a break-focused kit)CRIT comes first — aim for roughly a 1:2 ratio of CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG — then ATK%, then SPD.

SupportNo safe default — depends on the character's kit, check that character's pageSPD, almost always correctNo safe default — depends on the character's kit, check that character's pageEnergy Regeneration RateSPD first; add Effect Hit Rate if the character applies debuffs.

This is a default framework, not a hard rule. Some characters break from it because of their own kit — for example a support that needs CRIT DMG or Break Effect instead of Energy Regeneration Rate. Always check that character's page before locking in a set.

Basic rules you need before picking Relics

  • Head always rolls flat HP, Hands always roll flat ATK — no need to check the main stat on these two, just look at the substats.
  • Only Feet can roll SPD as a main stat; only the Link Rope can roll Energy Regeneration Rate as a main stat.
  • A substat never duplicates that piece's own main stat, and the four substats never duplicate each other.
  • Each piece caps at 4 substats. Every +3 upgrade grants one roll — either unlocking a new substat line or boosting an existing one at random.
  • Enhancement cap by rarity: 2-star +6, 3-star +9, 4-star +12, 5-star +15. Starting substat count: 3-star 1–2 lines, 4-star 2–3 lines, 5-star 3–4 lines.
  • The main stat is NOT random — at the level cap it's always the exact same fixed number. Only substats roll randomly.
  • Quick filter trick: enhance to +9 and you already see enough substat quality to decide keep-or-salvage — don't burn all your resources to +15 before judging.

Should you keep or salvage this piece?

  • Wrong main stat for the slot (e.g. an HP% Sphere on a Lightning DPS) → salvage it right away, don't get attached.
  • Right main stat but the 4 substats don't have even one line of CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG / SPD (for a DPS role) → low value, salvage first.
  • Right main stat plus at least 2 substats you actually need from the start → enhance to +9 and reassess — this piece is worth investing in.

Where can you get Relics?

Relics unlock during the Belobog story arc. To target the exact set and slot you need instead of farming blind, use the Omni-Synthesizer: it runs on Relic Remains, which you get by salvaging Relics you don't use. The machine unlocks from Equilibrium Level 3 onward.

Every piece & its lore

Official in-game name, description and story of each piece — tap to expand
Pioneer's Heatproof ShellHead

A heavy diving helmet in a style common in Orkron. Through the small porthole, one can only see the unbearable and endless expanse of darkness.

Clouds accumulate over Orkron's night sky, and shimmering planetary rings are concealed within them. Scarlet snowflakes fall on the heavy helmet, quietly filling the grooves of rusted iron, covering the traces of erosion. The two girls sit in the cedarwood forest... taking a momentary break in their journey.

"Look! The air in Orkron smells like raspberries." Scarlet snowflakes fall on the soft, cloud-like sugar threads and quickly disappear. The little Nameless from Toyro laughs and then bends over, holding her stomach. She laughs at her own choice of words — how can one see a scent with one's eyes? After a moment of shared laughter, the silence cuts like a sharpened blade, and the air seems to frost over in an instant.

"Frebass, are you still going to the depths of IX?" The question comes from her companion who is always carrying a long blade. She is a good companion, but no one knows where she comes from.

The little Nameless hides inside her bulky diving suit. A long pause later, she hands the companion a slightly burnt marshmallow, her eyes narrowed like the silhouette of a fully opened sail:

"Of course — because I will walk on a road deeper and further than Akivili's!"
Pioneer's Lacuna CompassHands

A compass in the form of a wristwatch. The magnetic needle has been removed and can no longer point in any direction.

"The undercurrent in the sea,
Whispering as it pecked at her bones, in one rise and fall of time,
She experienced the stages of old age and youth,
And entered the vortex."

The girl has heard a story like this. In the story, the world people inhabit is depicted as a towering tree, composed of ownerless energy. "This kind of energy is invisible, intangible, incomprehensible, and meaningless," she thought, "just like how IX has no meaning."

The little Nameless is somewhat melancholic, worrying about how she would orient herself after stepping into the depths of "Nihility." But soon, she had an inspiration — on her fourteenth birthday, her mother left her with one last gift... a small compass.

"If that's the case, as long as the compass senses not the magnetic field but 'energy,' wouldn't that solve the problem?"

The little Nameless removed the magnetic needle from the compass, but when the girl descended into the darkness, she realized that the compass' only direction was down.
Pioneer's Sealed Lead ApronBody

A heavy diving suit crafted from scrap iron, airtight and impenetrable. Even its wearer often jests that it resembles more of a deep-sea coffin.

"Frebass, the Nameless from Toyro, died for fourteen days and nights.
She forgot the cries of seagulls, the roar of the abyss,
The gains, and the losses."

The little Nameless gazed at the planetary ring wider than the boulevards of Toyro. She decided to launch herself into the singularity in the black hole.

"Even Akivili didn't manage to go there." The girl could always hear the distant sound of waves echoing in her heart. "I will walk on a road deeper and further than Akivili's." She prepared herself thoroughly — unidentified rusty metal plates, used oxygen tanks, discarded gyroscopic posture control devices, a self-circulating life support system, and a rectifying hood... She soldered all the materials together, ensuring that the entire suit was airtight. She believed it would protect her from the harm of Nihility.

She picked up the diving helmet her father left behind and wore a self-made "Medallion of Honor." Before leaving, she and her companion once again went to the cedarwood forest, toasting marshmallows one last time.

Later, when Frebass' spacecraft approached the edge of the black hole, this was all she could recall about Orkron.
Pioneer's Starfaring AnchorFeet

The heavy boots are formed like the anchor of a ship. Its owner is prepared to never return to the surface.

"O, you who turn the wheel and watch the wind,
Think of Frebass,
And how she was once as beautiful and stood as tall as you."

The lead boots, like iron anchors, drag the girl down further and further. They are dutifully carrying out the task bestowed upon them from the beginning of their conception.

The girl never closes her eyes, fighting boldly against the cold and lonely darkness. She remembers the first time she heard stories about Akivili. She remembers the first day she set upon the journey and the "Medallion of Honor" she forged for herself. She remembers the 30 days she spent journeying with her companion. She remembers the forest glade they gathered in for the first and last time, and how the air there tasted like raspberries. She remembers whistles, guitars, and the flute, and the songs they sang together. She remembers scarlet snow falling on slightly burnt marshmallows and disappearing.

The vast void looms near the end of the vivid memories, yet she suddenly sees a dash of crimson blinking briefly into existence in the center of the pitch-black world.

Therefore, the little Nameless remembers the smile she gave from the bottom of her heart when the girl with the sword took the marshmallows for the final time.

"I never thought I would meet anyone similar to me. You've walked so much further on this road than me.
Therefore, you will surely walk with me till then end, right?"
"Of course. Our end has already been determined... However, just like you said —
Even though I may turn into a shallow puddle of dead water in the end, there is still a lot I can do on my journey toward that moment. Therefore, no matter what, I have to go try it—
— Because I will walk on a road deeper and further than Akivili's!"

How to read this relic set page

Cavern Relics have 4 pieces: Head and Hand always carry fixed flat stats (HP and ATK), so only Body and Feet have a random main-stat you actually choose. The 2-piece effect unlocks with 2 out of 4 pieces from the same set; the 4-piece effect is stronger but needs all 4 and usually has its own trigger condition — read the exact text above before committing. Planar Ornaments only have 2 pieces (Planar Sphere + Link Rope) and only ever have one 2-piece effect, there is no 4-piece version.

The two types also differ in where you get them: Cavern Relics drop from the Cavern of Corrosion and cost Trailblaze Power per run; Planar Ornaments come from the Simulated Universe or Divergent Universe, which do NOT cost Trailblaze Power — you trade for them with items or completion rewards instead. A full loadout usually combines one 4-piece Cavern set (or two different Cavern sets at 2 pieces each) with one 2-piece Planar set — go 4-piece when that set gives a large, reliable damage buff, and mix 2+2 when you need to stack several smaller stats (e.g. ATK% from one set plus Elemental DMG% from another).

The "who should use this" list is pulled from cross-sourced build consensus and updates automatically as the meta shifts, it is not hand-picked. See the full set table on the Relics page, or check terms in the HSR Glossary.
