What main stat to run, by role

Getting the main stat on the right slot is the baseline — substats aimed the right direction decide your real power. The table below is a default framework by role, useful for a quick lookup before you know a specific character's kit.
BodyFeetPlanar SphereLink RopeSub-stat priority
Main DPSCRIT Rate or CRIT DMGATK% or SPDthe character's own Elemental DMG BoostATK% (or Break Effect for a break-focused kit)CRIT comes first — aim for roughly a 1:2 ratio of CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG — then ATK%, then SPD.
HealerHP% or Outgoing Healing BoostHP%HP%Energy Regeneration Rate or HP%HP% first, then SPD — healing output scales off the target's Max HP.
Tank / ShielderDEF% or Effect Hit RateDEF% or SPDDEF%DEF% or Energy Regeneration RateDEF% first, then Effect Hit Rate, then SPD.
SupportNo safe default — depends on the character's kit, check that character's pageSPD, almost always correctNo safe default — depends on the character's kit, check that character's pageEnergy Regeneration RateSPD first; add Effect Hit Rate if the character applies debuffs.

This is a default framework, not a hard rule. Some characters break from it because of their own kit — for example a support that needs CRIT DMG or Break Effect instead of Energy Regeneration Rate. Always check that character's page before locking in a set.

Basic rules you need before picking Relics

  • Head always rolls flat HP, Hands always roll flat ATK — no need to check the main stat on these two, just look at the substats.
  • Only Feet can roll SPD as a main stat; only the Link Rope can roll Energy Regeneration Rate as a main stat.
  • A substat never duplicates that piece's own main stat, and the four substats never duplicate each other.
  • Each piece caps at 4 substats. Every +3 upgrade grants one roll — either unlocking a new substat line or boosting an existing one at random.
  • Enhancement cap by rarity: 2-star +6, 3-star +9, 4-star +12, 5-star +15. Starting substat count: 3-star 1–2 lines, 4-star 2–3 lines, 5-star 3–4 lines.
  • The main stat is NOT random — at the level cap it's always the exact same fixed number. Only substats roll randomly.
  • Quick filter trick: enhance to +9 and you already see enough substat quality to decide keep-or-salvage — don't burn all your resources to +15 before judging.

Should you keep or salvage this piece?

  • Wrong main stat for the slot (e.g. an HP% Sphere on a Lightning DPS) → salvage it right away, don't get attached.
  • Right main stat but the 4 substats don't have even one line of CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG / SPD (for a DPS role) → low value, salvage first.
  • Right main stat plus at least 2 substats you actually need from the start → enhance to +9 and reassess — this piece is worth investing in.

Where can you get Relics?

Relics unlock during the Belobog story arc. To target the exact set and slot you need instead of farming blind, use the Omni-Synthesizer: it runs on Relic Remains, which you get by salvaging Relics you don't use. The machine unlocks from Equilibrium Level 3 onward.

Champion's HeadgearHead

Boxing headgear that provides excellent protection. It perfectly fits the shape of the owner's face.

Having grown up on the streets, Lindsay had never thought of boxing in official matches for she never believed she could be defeated by anyone, let alone someone who already has a foot in the grave.

The old lady calling herself a boxing coach provided Lindsay with a full set of protective gear and challenged the young girl to a bout, demanding Lindsay to train under her if the old lady managed a win.

Lindsay was too proud to use the complicated protective gears and tossed them all aside. She thought she could rely on her quick reactions for an easy win, but the old lady got near her in three strides and landed a blow straight to her face. When Lindsay regained consciousness, she picked up the boxing headgear she had tossed aside. Through the narrow opening of the headgear, she saw a brand-new world.

"So, these are the fists of a true boxer, huh? Interesting. If you want teach me, then train me to be the strongest boxer that ever lived."

Though a bit begrudgingly, Lindsay accepted that she had lost the bet. Now, wearing protective equipment for the first time, she officially stepped into the world of boxing.
Champion's Heavy GlovesHands

A pair of boxing gloves kept in excellent condition. Some slight wear doesn't hinder their effectiveness.

When Lindsay first entered the boxing ring, her fighting style was utterly unbalanced, for she only knew how to attack but never how to defend.

All her years of street fighting were inadequate to prepare her for the fight in the ring. The match arranged by Icaterina put Lindsay into her place.

A series of successive defeats in local fights shattered Lindsay's arrogance and deeply humbled her, forcing her to reflect on the balanced offensive and defensive rhythm that Icaterina was teaching her. As if kissed by the goddess of combat, this once-stubborn street fighter gradually came to understand the significance and joy of balancing offense with defense. The next thing she knew, her hand wraps were torn, and her gloves soaked with sweat and blood.

"Never let yourself fall into your opponent's traps. Remember your own rhythm."

Now Lindsay finally came to appreciate Ica's words and her loving gaze. The usually stern Ica had long loved Lindsay like she would her own child.
Champion's Chest GuardBody

A boxer's professional-level chest guard. The outer and inner padding is designed to provide protection while not hindering movement.

The scene in the training gym on the night before the championship fight was like the old days. The sounds of quick and heavy punches on the sandbag echoed throughout the gym.

Sweat soaked through her chest guard and the scorching steam detached Lindsay from reality, making her crave to escape it all.

Lindsay tried her best to control her emotions as her face glimmered with sweat and tears. Late into the night, she finally took off her chest guard and wrote the name "Ica" on the inside. She wants to swear she would achieve victory for this name. This was a key match in Lindsay's path to becoming the boxing champion, and her first fight without her coach by her side. Before Lindsay stepped into the ring, she held out her chest proudly to the camera.

"Lindsay.. I couldn't believe you share the same name with my daughter. I always thought I was done with the world for good when she passed, until I finally met you. Thank you, Lindsay."

"Protect me, Ica." The most important name was right by her heart.
Champion's Fleetfoot BootsFeet

Intricately crafted from leather and mesh, the combination of a thick insole and thin outsole ensures the wearer can be agile on their feet.

With a rather petite figure, Lindsay became famous for her fast punches and nimble footwork that allowed her to dance in the ring like a fluttering butterfly amidst flowers.

Regardless of how fast her opponents could throw a punch, all their strikes could never hit Lindsay. Such was the power of what was known as Lindsay's Dance.

To train Lindsay's unique footwork, Icaterina took the street urchin to a high-society ball, where they danced hand in hand, spin after spin... Though clumsy at first, Lindsay eventually got the hang of the refined dance steps. She realized that there was more to this old boxing coach than met the eye. Among the flowing sea of dancers, a soft spot in Lindsay's heart was suddenly struck by a magical feeling.

"One more dance?"

Lindsay's upbringing on the street did not at all prepare her for such experiences. Seeing the twinkle in Icaterina's eyes, how could Lindsay refuse?

How to read this relic set page

Cavern Relics have 4 pieces: Head and Hand always carry fixed flat stats (HP and ATK), so only Body and Feet have a random main-stat you actually choose. The 2-piece effect unlocks with 2 out of 4 pieces from the same set; the 4-piece effect is stronger but needs all 4 and usually has its own trigger condition — read the exact text above before committing. Planar Ornaments only have 2 pieces (Planar Sphere + Link Rope) and only ever have one 2-piece effect, there is no 4-piece version.

The two types also differ in where you get them: Cavern Relics drop from the Cavern of Corrosion and cost Trailblaze Power per run; Planar Ornaments come from the Simulated Universe or Divergent Universe, which do NOT cost Trailblaze Power — you trade for them with items or completion rewards instead. A full loadout usually combines one 4-piece Cavern set (or two different Cavern sets at 2 pieces each) with one 2-piece Planar set — go 4-piece when that set gives a large, reliable damage buff, and mix 2+2 when you need to stack several smaller stats (e.g. ATK% from one set plus Elemental DMG% from another).

The "who should use this" list is pulled from cross-sourced build consensus and updates automatically as the meta shifts, it is not hand-picked. See the full set table on the Relics page, or check terms in the HSR Glossary.
