2-piece or 4-piece?

Based on current data, 2 pieces are enough — no character is recorded as needing the full 4-piece bonus of this set, so you can mix it with another set on the remaining slots.

What main stat to run, by role

Getting the main stat on the right slot is the baseline — substats aimed the right direction decide your real power. The table below is a default framework by role, useful for a quick lookup before you know a specific character's kit.
BodyFeetPlanar SphereLink RopeSub-stat priority
Main DPSCRIT Rate or CRIT DMGATK% or SPDthe character's own Elemental DMG BoostATK% (or Break Effect for a break-focused kit)CRIT comes first — aim for roughly a 1:2 ratio of CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG — then ATK%, then SPD.
HealerHP% or Outgoing Healing BoostHP%HP%Energy Regeneration Rate or HP%HP% first, then SPD — healing output scales off the target's Max HP.
Tank / ShielderDEF% or Effect Hit RateDEF% or SPDDEF%DEF% or Energy Regeneration RateDEF% first, then Effect Hit Rate, then SPD.
SupportNo safe default — depends on the character's kit, check that character's pageSPD, almost always correctNo safe default — depends on the character's kit, check that character's pageEnergy Regeneration RateSPD first; add Effect Hit Rate if the character applies debuffs.

This is a default framework, not a hard rule. Some characters break from it because of their own kit — for example a support that needs CRIT DMG or Break Effect instead of Energy Regeneration Rate. Always check that character's page before locking in a set.

Basic rules you need before picking Relics

  • Head always rolls flat HP, Hands always roll flat ATK — no need to check the main stat on these two, just look at the substats.
  • Only Feet can roll SPD as a main stat; only the Link Rope can roll Energy Regeneration Rate as a main stat.
  • A substat never duplicates that piece's own main stat, and the four substats never duplicate each other.
  • Each piece caps at 4 substats. Every +3 upgrade grants one roll — either unlocking a new substat line or boosting an existing one at random.
  • Enhancement cap by rarity: 2-star +6, 3-star +9, 4-star +12, 5-star +15. Starting substat count: 3-star 1–2 lines, 4-star 2–3 lines, 5-star 3–4 lines.
  • The main stat is NOT random — at the level cap it's always the exact same fixed number. Only substats roll randomly.
  • Quick filter trick: enhance to +9 and you already see enough substat quality to decide keep-or-salvage — don't burn all your resources to +15 before judging.

Should you keep or salvage this piece?

  • Wrong main stat for the slot (e.g. an HP% Sphere on a Lightning DPS) → salvage it right away, don't get attached.
  • Right main stat but the 4 substats don't have even one line of CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG / SPD (for a DPS role) → low value, salvage first.
  • Right main stat plus at least 2 substats you actually need from the start → enhance to +9 and reassess — this piece is worth investing in.

Where can you get Relics?

Relics unlock during the Belobog story arc. To target the exact set and slot you need instead of farming blind, use the Omni-Synthesizer: it runs on Relic Remains, which you get by salvaging Relics you don't use. The machine unlocks from Equilibrium Level 3 onward.

Every piece & its lore

Thief's Myriad-Faced MaskHead

A mask used to change one's facial appearance. Coupled with evocative acting skills, it can help you deceive anyone.

Meteor Thief Leblanc saw heists as participating in a masquerade ball, and hiding his identity was part of the etiquette.

"How could a mask change a person's height and voice? Hahaha, it's a patented secret. Completely confidential."

Wearing a mask, Leblanc disguised himself as an ordinary staff member, sneaked into the IPC's security meeting, and offered advice on their "thief prevention measures." It was not until half a month after the theft that the security team recalled that they didn't know that "colleague" at the meeting.

Thieves had to lead a double life, requiring various means of disguise. Such was the tradition of the world of thievery.

"Can your writers make the thief wear the mask throughout the film?" The marketing team of the IPC's Radio, Film, and Television Department said to the producer. "I am once again stressing the need for this mask as merchandise. Affordability and popularity are equally important."
Thief's Gloves With PrintsHands

A pair of special gloves interlaced with nanomaterials. The prints on its surface can change in real time.

Meteor Thief Leblanc was never a neat freak. He didn't care about leaving traces. He would always leave misleading clues, serving the right amount of provocation.

"How could these people in the IPC have been fooled so many times? Perhaps the fault should lie with the IPC, not me."

His gloves could generate all sorts of prints, which always made a fool of the IPC's fingerprint detection devices, leaving them with a bunch of harmless so-called "thief's flaws." The security team found hundreds of prints in their secret treasure storage room, including those of prehistoric pterosaurs, interstellar ladybugs, labradors... Needless to say, none of them belonged to the thief.

Vanishing without a trace was tedious and served only to group one alongside those timid little thieves who've got absolutely no style.

"Fiction should never outright contradict reality. Who still uses fingerprint systems these days?" The IPC's security team complained. "Do these writers have any common sense at all?"
Thief's Steel Grappling HookBody

A steel cable disguised as a woven belt, with hooks and pulleys hidden in its buckle.

A well-prepared thief can always escape safely from desperate situations with a life-saving grappling hook equipped under his belt at all times.

"How to throw the grappling hook at the right target... Could you explain how you made all those moves?"

The secret treasure storage room was full of lethal mechanisms, but the thief danced around them using the grappling hook at his waist as if he were performing a waltz in midair. In a split second from when he reached for his belt, Leblanc threw the grappling hook to a wall tens of meters high, and the pulley then rolled and instantly sent the thief to the "Star of Leo."

To come and go anywhere one so desires, with just the steel grappling hook equipped under one's belt, is the basic qualification required of a professional thief.

"You know, we could just let the stunt double play his part in the sequel. That'll save us a lot of money," the action choreographer quipped. "The audience wouldn't know who was under the mask anyway."
Thief's Meteor BootsFeet

A pair of boots that enhances any human's physical prowess. It helps the Meteor Thief stride between buildings.

Leblanc would deliberately leave a beam of dazzling light behind him when jumping from roof to roof, earning him the title of the "Meteor Thief."

"How would one escape if there were no skyscrapers? Hahahaha, spare me these ignorant questions."

He had sneaked away from countless chases, and it made him a master of escape. No one could catch up with his Meteor Boots in the city unless someone knew where his base of operations was. To Leblanc's surprise, a detective with messy hair was sitting inside with his coffee cup, having waited for Leblanc for a long time.

The story of the thief is over. Now is the time for the legend of the detective.

"Many people don't believe we would write like this, which is exactly why we do so." An anonymous writer explained the controversial end of the Meteor Thief.

How to read this relic set page

Cavern Relics have 4 pieces: Head and Hand always carry fixed flat stats (HP and ATK), so only Body and Feet have a random main-stat you actually choose. The 2-piece effect unlocks with 2 out of 4 pieces from the same set; the 4-piece effect is stronger but needs all 4 and usually has its own trigger condition — read the exact text above before committing. Planar Ornaments only have 2 pieces (Planar Sphere + Link Rope) and only ever have one 2-piece effect, there is no 4-piece version.

The two types also differ in where you get them: Cavern Relics drop from the Cavern of Corrosion and cost Trailblaze Power per run; Planar Ornaments come from the Simulated Universe or Divergent Universe, which do NOT cost Trailblaze Power — you trade for them with items or completion rewards instead. A full loadout usually combines one 4-piece Cavern set (or two different Cavern sets at 2 pieces each) with one 2-piece Planar set — go 4-piece when that set gives a large, reliable damage buff, and mix 2+2 when you need to stack several smaller stats (e.g. ATK% from one set plus Elemental DMG% from another).

The "who should use this" list is pulled from cross-sourced build consensus and updates automatically as the meta shifts, it is not hand-picked. See the full set table on the Relics page, or check terms in the HSR Glossary.
