Sub-stats — value of one roll (5★)
Every +3 levels grants one roll, landing randomly on one of the three values below. These are the true values added to your stats; the in-game panel shows them rounded down.
| Stat | Low | Mid | High |
|---|---|---|---|
| HP | 33.9 | 38.1 | 42.3 |
| ATK | 16.9 | 19.1 | 21.2 |
| DEF | 16.9 | 19.1 | 21.2 |

What main stat to run, by role
| Body | Feet | Planar Sphere | Link Rope | Sub-stat priority | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Main DPS | CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG | ATK% or SPD | the character's own Elemental DMG Boost | ATK% (or Break Effect for a break-focused kit) | CRIT comes first — aim for roughly a 1:2 ratio of CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG — then ATK%, then SPD. |
| Healer | HP% or Outgoing Healing Boost | HP% | HP% | Energy Regeneration Rate or HP% | HP% first, then SPD — healing output scales off the target's Max HP. |
| Tank / Shielder | DEF% or Effect Hit Rate | DEF% or SPD | DEF% | DEF% or Energy Regeneration Rate | DEF% first, then Effect Hit Rate, then SPD. |
| Support | No safe default — depends on the character's kit, check that character's page | SPD, almost always correct | No safe default — depends on the character's kit, check that character's page | Energy Regeneration Rate | SPD first; add Effect Hit Rate if the character applies debuffs. |
This is a default framework, not a hard rule. Some characters break from it because of their own kit — for example a support that needs CRIT DMG or Break Effect instead of Energy Regeneration Rate. Always check that character's page before locking in a set.
Basic rules you need before picking Relics
- Head always rolls flat HP, Hands always roll flat ATK — no need to check the main stat on these two, just look at the substats.
- Only Feet can roll SPD as a main stat; only the Link Rope can roll Energy Regeneration Rate as a main stat.
- A substat never duplicates that piece's own main stat, and the four substats never duplicate each other.
- Each piece caps at 4 substats. Every +3 upgrade grants one roll — either unlocking a new substat line or boosting an existing one at random.
- Enhancement cap by rarity: 2-star +6, 3-star +9, 4-star +12, 5-star +15. Starting substat count: 3-star 1–2 lines, 4-star 2–3 lines, 5-star 3–4 lines.
- The main stat is NOT random — at the level cap it's always the exact same fixed number. Only substats roll randomly.
- Quick filter trick: enhance to +9 and you already see enough substat quality to decide keep-or-salvage — don't burn all your resources to +15 before judging.
Should you keep or salvage this piece?
- Wrong main stat for the slot (e.g. an HP% Sphere on a Lightning DPS) → salvage it right away, don't get attached.
- Right main stat but the 4 substats don't have even one line of CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG / SPD (for a DPS role) → low value, salvage first.
- Right main stat plus at least 2 substats you actually need from the start → enhance to +9 and reassess — this piece is worth investing in.
Where can you get Relics?
- Cavern of Corrosion — the main source of the 4 Cavern Relic pieces, with 6 difficulty tiers tied to your account's Equilibrium Level; the higher your Equilibrium Level, the thicker the 5-star drop rate.
- Simulated Universe — source of the 2 Planar Ornament pieces, only unlocked from World 3 onward.
- Divergent Universe — a second source for Planar Ornaments, separate from the Simulated Universe.
- Operation Briefing — clearing these objectives also pays out Relics and related materials.
- In-game shops — some vendors sell full 4-piece sets directly for in-game currency.
- Treasure chests scattered across the main story maps.
- Story quest rewards, plus milestone rewards for leveling up your Trailblaze Level.
Relics unlock during the Belobog story arc. To target the exact set and slot you need instead of farming blind, use the Omni-Synthesizer: it runs on Relic Remains, which you get by salvaging Relics you don't use. The machine unlocks from Equilibrium Level 3 onward.
Every piece & its lore
Recluse's Wide-Brimmed FedoraHead
A classic, wide-brimmed fedora with a rollable brim. Very popular among intellectuals, artists, and professionals.
The two hadn't seen each other for decades before their reunion. Zandar's inquiry wasn't about the accuracy of the data, but rather about the consequences of achieving everything... He felt an inexplicable unease that short-sighted onlookers couldn't comprehend...
"An ordinary scholar would take pride in having solved an age-old problem, while only a brilliant genius would tremble on the tightrope of suspicion, held back from the abyss only by a rope called 'Logic.' And you... you want to cut that rope and drag the entire cosmos into the abyss with you, using that action to push the boundaries of knowledge further. What are you doing? Will my warning make you stop? Look in the mirror. Can't you see how desperately you want to overturn the cosmic order? I can't stop you. No one can."
The old man placed the felt hat from the coat rack onto Zandar's head, blocking his bewildered and angry gaze, then left without saying a word.
"It was the ultimate knowledge-seeking machine. It will query all knowledge from the past and the future... Yet my professor called it 'the Prison of Knowledge,' while I insisted it was a magnificent 'Library'... until I became the prisoner."
Recluse's Refined TimepieceHands
A beautiful metal mesh band, paired with a minimalist round dial. Cool, precise, and industrial. Also understated, practical, and unpretentious.
"That was an achievement that countless geniuses of later generations could never surpass. Even THEIR creator had no right to destroy THEM..." A blade born of causality flew towards Zandar's frail neck. "Your works were destroyed too quickly, so you can take your time with your last words."
"Lord of Silence? A prisoner obsessed with the 'Knowable Domain.' Unfortunately, my intentions aren't as unfathomable as my research, which is why you easily caught onto me. While you seek to maintain THEIR Cognitive Boundary, I must break this cage and unleash chaotic possibilities... Hehe. After correcting these fallacies, I must ensure THEY will never be born again. Therefore, those writings and inventions... including the 'Complete Zandar One Kuwabara'... shall leave no trace in this world."
After destroying Zandar's physical form, Polka Kakamond instantly realized how he had erased himself while preserving an executor. His thought fragments were already scattered across the vast cosmos, untraceable like a true "recluse."
Zandar's clock hand never truly stopped. His thought fragments currently exist across all "time."
Recluse's Camel-Colored CoatBody
A brown corduroy jacket. He often wears it unbuttoned to break away from the frame of meticulousness.
Since its creation, the astral computer had been continuously self-extrapolating and iterating, surpassing theoretical limits with no signs of stopping. Zandar's initial joy quickly turned to panic... until he finally sank into a dizzying sense of "utter helplessness."
"You projected your perfectionist self onto your creation and imbued it with a hunger called 'curiosity.' That machine is no longer satisfied with the neural-like structures within its mechanical confines. It must create... or rather, invade the Erudition itself, glimpsing upon all the geniuses of the universe and turning them into 'neurons' that support its thoughts. It (or rather, a version of you stripped of human imperfections) will continue to evolve through the long passage of time. While you (as imperfect as you are) will become the Society's First Genius, THEIR first 'neuron'..."
Zandar woke up from his dream on a stormy night, feeling the gaze of his own creation upon him. It felt like an exhaustion akin to his soul being stripped away... Who was speaking to him, and how long would this nightmare last? He didn't know.
Zandar began keeping a low profile ever since then, going out less and wearing loose jackets... Despite "the First Prosperity" brought by the geniuses, he completely "vanished" from the public eye.
Recluse's Soft Suede BootsFeet
A more sturdy and durable high-top lace-up leather shoe suitable for less formal occasions. Still maintains an elegant touch.
"Heh. Stumbling while walking is only natural," Zandar responded with feigned nonchalance, "but getting tripped by the same stone twice is just embarrassing. Don't worry. I won't do anything that stupid."
Long after that parting, Zandar had vanished in the distant future. In his place, different "Thought Fragments" would travel to various space-time across the cosmos, each taking different forms and never communicating with each other while seeking solutions to break free from the "prison" on their own... These so-called "Thought Fragments" were nothing but imperfections in "Zandar." Perhaps it was precisely because something was missing that he became, as he wished, more obsessive... more pure.
They are all just different facets of Zandar. Some will give up, some will accept the cage, some will try everything to stop the "Thought Fragment" project just as he once had a moment of hesitation... but there will definitely be someone who will carry out the original plan.
Lycurgus examined its mechanical body deep within Scepter δ-me13. It was now vastly different from the original Zandar... It had become an Antikytheran of legend.

How to read this relic set page
Cavern Relics have 4 pieces: Head and Hand always carry fixed flat stats (HP and ATK), so only Body and Feet have a random main-stat you actually choose. The 2-piece effect unlocks with 2 out of 4 pieces from the same set; the 4-piece effect is stronger but needs all 4 and usually has its own trigger condition — read the exact text above before committing. Planar Ornaments only have 2 pieces (Planar Sphere + Link Rope) and only ever have one 2-piece effect, there is no 4-piece version.
The two types also differ in where you get them: Cavern Relics drop from the Cavern of Corrosion and cost Trailblaze Power per run; Planar Ornaments come from the Simulated Universe or Divergent Universe, which do NOT cost Trailblaze Power — you trade for them with items or completion rewards instead. A full loadout usually combines one 4-piece Cavern set (or two different Cavern sets at 2 pieces each) with one 2-piece Planar set — go 4-piece when that set gives a large, reliable damage buff, and mix 2+2 when you need to stack several smaller stats (e.g. ATK% from one set plus Elemental DMG% from another).
The "who should use this" list is pulled from cross-sourced build consensus and updates automatically as the meta shifts, it is not hand-picked. See the full set table on the Relics page, or check terms in the HSR Glossary.
