Reverse: 1999 Best Teams

Team comps and Arcanist pairings that work together.

Each team below is built from the game's own skill data: the mechanic tags (Burn, Poison, Moxie, Crit…) are read straight out of each Arcanist's kit, so the reason a team works is something you can check yourself on the character pages. Teams marked "No Euphoria needed" contain no member whose ranking depends on an unlocked Euphoria.

Moxie/Ultimate Chain

Meta (needs Euphoria)
Moxie Ultimate
Melania6★
Melania
DPS One with the Flow

Beast · Mental DMG · Moxie + Ult — main Ultimate spammer, Euphoria required.

Vila6★
Vila
Buffer Her Second Life

Plant · no fixed DMG type · Moxie + Ult + Heal + Sturdy — feeds the chain and sustains it, Euphoria required.

Regulus6★
Regulus
DPS Belt It Out

Star · Mental DMG · Moxie + Crit — second Ultimate carry, Euphoria required.

Rubuska6★
Rubuska
Healer Faded Epitaphs

Mineral · no fixed DMG type · Heal + Crit + Moxie + Bloodtithe — Moxie-tagged healer, no Euphoria required.

Why this team works

Melania and Regulus both key off Moxie and Ultimate — the faster Moxie fills, the more often their Ultimates fire. Vila carries the same Moxie/Ultimate tag and adds Heal + Sturdy so the chain never stalls. Rubuska closes the loop with a Moxie-tagged heal that keeps everyone topped up between Ults.

Meta (needs Euphoria)
Array
Semmelweis6★
Semmelweis
Buffer In the Shadow

Mineral · Reality DMG · Array + Moxie — offensive Array anchor, Euphoria required.

Getian6★
Getian
Debuffer Same Old Story

Beast · Reality DMG · Array + Crit + Moxie — second Array anchor, Euphoria required.

Sentinel6★
Sentinel
Buffer The Fighter's Best Wishes

Mineral · Reality DMG · Bullet + Crit + Bloodtithe — converts Crit hits into Bloodtithe, no Euphoria required.

Rubuska6★
Rubuska
Healer The Wandering Improviser

Mineral · no fixed DMG type · Heal + Crit + Moxie + Bloodtithe — second Bloodtithe source through healing, no Euphoria required.

Why this team works

Semmelweis and Getian both drop an Array and tag Moxie — placing them together means their Array effects and Moxie generation overlap on the field instead of competing for the same square. Sentinel and Rubuska both carry Bloodtithe, converting the extra Crit/Heal actions the Array encourages into a shared resource pool.

Array Crit Lattice

Meta (needs Euphoria)
Array Poison
Tuesday6★
Tuesday
And the Maid Says

Spirit · no fixed DMG type · Poison + Crit + Array — main Array carry.

Semmelweis6★
Semmelweis
Buffer From the Depths

Mineral · Reality DMG · Array + Moxie — second Array source, Euphoria required.

Getian6★
Getian
Debuffer Same Old Story

Beast · Reality DMG · Array + Crit + Moxie — third Array stack, Euphoria required.

Kiperina6★
Kiperina
Buffer Aurora After Winter

Star · Mental DMG · Shield + Impromptu + Crit + Cleanse — support core, feeds Crit to the team.

Why this team works

Tuesday, Semmelweis and Getian all tap into Array together with Poison — combining it across three kits at once outperforms any single carry doing it alone. Kiperina keeps the line-up alive with Shield so that payoff has time to land.

Why this team works

Bloodtithe Sacrifice Loop

Meta (needs Euphoria)
Bloodtithe
Nautika6★
Nautika
DPS Embrace the Past

Spirit · Reality DMG · Riposte + self-HP-cost — trades her own Current HP for AoE Reality DMG plus a bonus HP-cost follow-up hit, Euphoria (E1) required.

Semmelweis6★
Semmelweis
Buffer From the Depths

Mineral · Reality DMG · Array + Moxie + team-HP-cost — Ultimate costs all allies 20% Current HP to place 【Blood Domain】, Euphoria (E1) required.

Sentinel6★
Sentinel
Buffer Homecoming Lament

Mineral · Reality DMG · Bullet + Crit + Bloodtithe — passive converts any ally's HP loss into shared Bloodtithe, then spends it on 【Dread Bullet】 bursts, no Euphoria required.

Rubuska6★
Rubuska
Healer The Wandering Improviser

Mineral · no fixed DMG type · Heal + Crit + Moxie + Bloodtithe — same ally-HP-loss-to-Bloodtithe passive as Sentinel, and her heals offset the HP the other three spend, no Euphoria required.

Why this team works

Nautika and Semmelweis both spend HP as a resource instead of hoarding it — Nautika's Incantations trade her own Current HP for extra Reality DMG, and Semmelweis's Ultimate costs every ally 20% Current HP to drop the 【Blood Domain】 Array. Sentinel and Rubuska both carry the same passive that turns any ally's HP loss into shared 【Bloodtithe】, so every point the front two spend feeds the Bloodtithe that Sentinel cashes in on 【Dread Bullet】 bursts and Rubuska turns back into team healing.

Team building — quick answers

What is the best team in Reverse: 1999?

There is no single best team — the game rewards matching your damage dealer to the stage. In practice the strongest builds stack one mechanic (Burn, Poison, Crit) from several Arcanists at once, then add one Survival unit so the damage-over-time has time to land. Pick the team above whose damage dealer you already own.

Can I clear the game without Euphoria?

Yes. Every team marked "No Euphoria needed" on this page is fielded entirely by Arcanists whose ranking does not assume an unlocked Euphoria, so a free-to-play account can build it as-is at Insight III.

How many Arcanists does a team need?

Four slots, but only three do the work in most fights: a damage dealer, a support that amplifies them, and a Survival or second support. The fourth slot is a substitute — use it to raise bond, or swap in one of the flex picks listed under each team.
