Inherently Unjust Destiny
Inherently Unjust Destiny is a 5★ Light Cone for the Path of Preservation in Honkai: Star Rail.
This 5-star Knight-path Light Cone stacks heavy DEF, grants its own CRIT DMG boost whenever it shields an ally, and further amplifies enemy DMG taken via Follow-Up Attacks, making it a best-in-slot cornerstone for shield-plus-Follow-Up-Attack team compositions.
Increases the wearer's DEF by 40%. When the wearer provides a Shield to an ally, the wearer's CRIT DMG increases by 40%, lasting for 2 turn(s). When the wearer's Follow-Up ATK hits an enemy target, there is a 100% base chance to increase the DMG taken by the attacked enemy target by 10%, lasting for 2 turn(s).
With the final card revealed, despondency, rage, acceptance, and sangfroid... A cascade of emotions drops onto the faces of his opponents. "Now that we're all here, why don't we spice things up a bit?" He puts in all his chips. Those who have cut their losses leave the table, cursing profanities and secretly hoping that he would lose. Victories, reputation, fortune... He cares not for any of that. Instead, he's enthralled only by those moments that make his very life quiver — After all, hell is but one choice away from heaven. The chips are cast, sorrow fills the air, and the illusory sense of satisfaction dissipates in an instant when the dust finally settles. "All or nothing, I have not the luxury of choice..."
How to read this Light Cone page
Every Light Cone has exactly one passive effect tied to the wielder's combat performance; that effect scales up as you Superimpose it from S1 to S5 — use the S1-S5 buttons above to see the exact numbers at each level instead of guessing or interpolating. A Light Cone only delivers its full value on a character who shares its Path; "Characters who use this cone" lists every character on that Path, while "Best users" is a narrower list pulled from real build consensus, not a guess.
Base stats (HP/ATK/DEF) are shown at Lv80 for every cone of the same rarity so they can be compared directly; a 5-star cone will always edge out 4-star and 3-star ones here — the real difference lives in the passive effect, not the flat stats. The "Alternative cones on the same Path" section suggests a few other options if you do not own the signature cone yet, or want to compare before spending ascension materials.
