Why Does the Ocean Sing
Why Does the Ocean Sing is a 5★ Light Cone for the Path of Nihility in Honkai: Star Rail.
A 5-star Warlock cone that grants a big Effect Hit Rate boost and can stack up to 30% increased DoT damage taken on the target, extremely powerful but limited to debuff/DoT-focused characters.
Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 40%. When an enemy target gets inflicted with a debuff by the wearer, there is a 80% base chance for them to enter "Enthrallment," lasting for 3 turn(s). Effects of the same type cannot stack. While the target is in "Enthrallment," for every 1 debuff applied by the wearer on the target, increases the target's received DoT by 5%, stacking up to 6 time(s). When the target gets attacked by an ally, increases the attacker's SPD by 10% for 3 turn(s). When the wearer gets knocked down, removes all "Enthrallment."
Waves surge forth, their roar echoing across the heavens. Fish swim through the empty seas, where ancient foam churns and that melody seems to still linger. "Noble Princess, feast with us!" Answering the deep sea's call, she danced with the black tide until she alone remained on that grand stage. "Swordmaster of the seas, why do you stay silent, what makes you sing?" With every step upon the Earth, she endured the pain, rarely singing, only her crimson blade sang the lament of life. "Dux Gladiorum, come with me to conquer the starry seas!" When she found this blazing light, she finally took up her bow, believing it to be the start of the celebration. ... "Helektra... Helektra... when your song ends, where will you swim to next?" When futile hopes shatter, she always answers their questions with a solitary melody, yet it enchants all who hear it. Or perhaps... whether in the mortal realm or the deep sea, the only true listener is the performer herself.
How to read this Light Cone page
Every Light Cone has exactly one passive effect tied to the wielder's combat performance; that effect scales up as you Superimpose it from S1 to S5 — use the S1-S5 buttons above to see the exact numbers at each level instead of guessing or interpolating. A Light Cone only delivers its full value on a character who shares its Path; "Characters who use this cone" lists every character on that Path, while "Best users" is a narrower list pulled from real build consensus, not a guess.
Base stats (HP/ATK/DEF) are shown at Lv80 for every cone of the same rarity so they can be compared directly; a 5-star cone will always edge out 4-star and 3-star ones here — the real difference lives in the passive effect, not the flat stats. The "Alternative cones on the same Path" section suggests a few other options if you do not own the signature cone yet, or want to compare before spending ascension materials.
