John Titor — Review & Analysis

John Titor

John Titor is a 3★ Intellect unit built around survival and support. His ultimate, 65536 Bytes, grants the whole team an ATK-scaling Shield while dispelling enemy buffs and cleansing allied debuffs and control at the same time - a three-in-one utility package that's rare on a 3★. Paired with the self-heal and self-DMG buff from Incantation II, he's remarkably hard to kill despite modest base stats.

Strengths
  • The ultimate does three jobs at once: team-wide Shield, stripping enemy buffs, and clearing allied debuffs and control - dense utility from an easy-to-raise 3★.
  • Excellent self-sustain: Incantation II self-heals and boosts DMG dealt, on top of a passive that heals after acting and raises healing received on entry.
  • Intellect afflatus stands outside the Afflatus counter cycle — it counters nothing and is countered by nothing.
Weaknesses
  • The Shield scales off the user's ATK, but a 3★'s ATK stat is low, so the shield's actual value is small - his worth lies in the utility, not the numbers.
  • He's countered by Spirit (taking +30% DMG) and only hits a single target for weak damage, so at endgame he's easily replaced by higher-rarity support and survival units.
Build Priority

Level the ultimate 65536 Bytes first - it is his entire value (Shield, dispel, cleanse), and the Insight ranks push its Shield % even higher as they unlock. Next, raise Incantation II for self-sustain and the self-DMG buff, and leave Incantation I for last. Since the Shield scales with ATK, pick an ATK-boosting Psychube for a thicker shield, or a support-oriented one; crit or raw-DMG Psychubes are largely wasted on him.
