1★Reading weapon stats: type, Base ATK, main stat, and passive ranks
Every one of the 120 weapons in Wuthering Waves belongs to one of five types — Sword, Broadblade, Pistols, Gauntlets, and Rectifier — and a Resonator can only equip the type matching their own weapon. There's no cross-type flexibility, so the first filter to apply is always type.
Each weapon card shows two numbers that matter: Base ATK (scales with weapon level) and a fixed main stat — Crit Rate, Crit DMG, an elemental DMG bonus, Energy Regen, or a flat stat depending on the weapon. Below that sits the passive, which grows through five ranks (R1 to R5) as you feed the weapon duplicates — read the R1 wording first since that's what you get on a single copy.
5-star beats 4-star beats 3-star — except when a 4-star doesn't
As a baseline, 5★ weapons out-scale 4★ and 3★ on both Base ATK and main-stat value, and most 3★ weapons only exist as early-game filler or crafting fodder. But rarity isn't destiny: a handful of 4★ weapons punch far above their rarity and are worth building even next to a 5★ box.
Variation is the standout 4★ Rectifier — its passive returns 8 Concerto Energy, making it a genuine support pick regardless of your standard 5★ collection. The four-piece Ceaseless Aria family —
Discord,
Marcato,
Overture, and
Cadenza — covers every weapon type with a shared support-leaning passive. For crit-focused Sub-DPS builds,
Autumntrace,
Stonard, and
Augment are the 4★ picks worth pulling Battle Pass currency toward.
The weapon Convene: 100% featured, no 50/50
Wuthering Waves runs weapon pulls through a separate Convene from characters, and it works differently: base 5★ rate is the same 0.8%, hard pity is the same 80 pulls with soft pity easing in around pull 66, but there's no 50/50 — every 5★ that drops on the weapon banner is the featured weapon, guaranteed. A 4★ or higher is guaranteed at least every 10 pulls, and each pull costs 160 Astrite. Pity and guarantee carry over between weapon banner runs, separate from the character Convene's pity count.
Union Level 45 free weapon box, and where to find BiS
Reaching Union Level 45 unlocks a one-time selector box for a standard 5★ weapon — pick carefully since it's a single free copy.
Emerald of Genesis (Sword),
Cosmic Ripples (Rectifier), and
Static Mist (Pistols) are the strongest picks in that pool thanks to crit or buff-oriented main stats and passives;
Lustrous Razor and
Abyss Surges sit noticeably behind them for most teams.
