Emblems in Pokémon TCG Pocket: How the Cosmetic System Works
Emblems are the badge shown next to your name in battle — here are all 5 ways to unlock one, without needing to memorize a list that changes every set.
What Emblems Actually Are
An emblem is a small cosmetic badge shown in two places: on your profile, and next to your name when you're battling another player. Two independent sources confirm they carry zero gameplay effect — an emblem never changes a card's stats, your deck's power, or matchmaking.
- Displayed on your player profile at all times
- Also shown to your opponent next to your name during battle
- Purely a personalization item, similar in spirit to a title or badge in other games
The 5 Ways to Unlock an Emblem
Two independent sources cross-confirm the same five channels, even though the specific emblems each one lists differ by publish date:
- Emblem Tickets — exchange a set quantity of tickets in the shop for a specific emblem
- Themed Collection reward — completing a Themed Collection unlocks its themed emblem automatically
- Set Pokédex-completion milestone — own every card at a set rarity threshold within one expansion
- Secret Mission reward — a hidden mission tied to a specific Pokémon or theme pays out its own unique emblem
- Ranked Match tier reward — reaching a rank tier by the end of a season unlocks that tier's emblem
Emblem Events: Time-Limited Win-Streak Rewards
Some emblems come from limited-time Emblem Events tied to a set's launch — win a set number of matches during the event window to earn tiered rewards, from participation up through bronze, silver, and gold, each awarding its own unique emblem.
- These events run alongside a new set's release and close permanently once the window ends
- Each win-count tier unlocks independently, so partial progress still pays out something
- Once an event closes, that specific emblem generally becomes unobtainable through that channel again
Should You Chase Every Emblem?
Since emblems never affect card power, the only real decision is time budgeting. Prioritize by scarcity, not by how much you like a design:
- Ranked-tier and Event emblems are the most scarce — they're only earnable while their season or event window is open, then generally gone
- Emblem Ticket and Themed Collection emblems are the safest to delay — as long as the ticket exchange or collection stays live, you can come back to them later
- If you're short on time during a new set's launch, clear the Emblem Event first — it's the one channel with a hard deadline
