Events & News
Every official news post, newest first, with a countdown to the next expansion estimated from the real release cadence.
Pokémon TCG Pocket only publishes its news feed in Japanese (no official English news API) — titles below are shown exactly as published, with a link to the original post.
This date is not an estimate — the set's release date has been announced. The set is not live yet, though: its card list, pull rates and Pack Point prices do not exist yet, so we show none of them and guess at nothing. The moment it goes live the card data gets ingested and every odds tool updates itself.

How the Pokémon TCG Pocket events page is organized
This Pokémon TCG Pocket events page pulls together everything happening around the game into one timeline instead of scattering it across separate articles: farming events, mission events, banner events, and set launches. Our underlying data covers all 21 sets and 26 packs released so far, and every event on this page is tied back to the specific set or pack it belongs to, so you can see exactly what unlocked when.
Because events sit on top of that same set and pack data, the timeline stays connected to the rest of the site rather than existing as a standalone news feed. If an event is about a new pack, you can jump straight from the event entry to the pack itself.
Why waiting for a new set can be the smarter move
A new pack launch is almost always paired with a companion event, and spending your saved-up resources right before that launch often means missing better odds or exclusive rewards tied to the incoming pack lineup. With 26 packs already released across 21 sets, the pattern is consistent: each new set brings its own event window, and cards from the new pack are not available in older packs no matter how many of those you open.
This is also why we do not recommend rushing your last few free packs right before a set change. Free packs are commonly limited to two per day, so packs saved up (where the game allows it) or simply timed to land after a new set drops tend to go further than packs burned on an older pool right before it gets replaced.
Reading the different event types
Not every event on the timeline works the same way, so we sort them by type rather than listing them all identically.
- Farm events: repeatable missions built around a specific matchup or deck theme, usually rewarding shop currency or Hourglasses.
- Mission events: one-time or limited checklists tied to a set launch, often the fastest way to grab early rewards from a new pack.
- Banner events: cosmetic or promotional pushes tied to a specific Pokémon or set, without the pack odds themselves changing.
- Set-launch events: the window right after a new pack goes live, when a companion event usually runs alongside it.
Confirmed dates versus rumored ones
An event with a hard deadline is not the same kind of content as a tier list or a glossary entry: getting a date wrong here means a real player misses a real reward window. Anything on this page presented as a confirmed date is tied to official patch or set data, and anything still unconfirmed is labeled clearly as such rather than presented as settled.
We would rather show fewer upcoming dates than publish a guess dressed up as a fact, so if a future event is not yet backed by official data it simply will not appear here as confirmed.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know an event is officially confirmed and not a rumor?
We only mark an event as confirmed once it is backed by official set or patch data. Anything still uncertain is labeled clearly instead of being listed alongside confirmed dates, so you never have to guess which entries are solid.
Does every new set come with its own event?
In practice, yes, a new pack launch is almost always paired with a companion event window. That is one of the main reasons this events page stays linked to the same set and pack data as the rest of the site rather than standing alone.
Should I save my packs for a new event or open them now?
If a set launch is close, saving what you can toward it usually pays off more than spending on the older pool, since new pack cards are not available anywhere else. With free packs commonly capped at two per day, timing matters as much as raw pack count.
