Genshin Impact Trivia: 3 Facts We Computed Ourselves From the Banner History

Version 3.8 was the first (and so far only) version to add zero new characters. Since version 1.2, no patch has ever debuted more than 3 new characters at once — the 8-character batches of 1.0 and 1.1 only happened during the game's launch window. And Wriothesley is the 5-star who waited longest for a first rerun: debuting in 4.1, he didn't get a rerun until version 5.4 — 13 versions later.

- Version 3.8 — 0 new characters: we scanned all 203 banners in our data, mapped every character tag to the earliest banner version it appears in (as either a 5-star or 4-star), then counted new tags per version from 1.0 to 6.7. Result: 3.8 is the only version with a count of zero; every other version has at least 1 new character.
- The 3-character ceiling since 1.2: using the same count, sorted by version — 1.0 and 1.1 (the launch window) had 8 new characters each, while from 1.2 onward the highest count ever recorded is 3 (repeated across many versions like 1.2, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0...), and no version has ever hit 4.
- Wriothesley's 13-version wait: for every character with ≥2 "featured" (main 5-star) banners, we took the version gap between their debut banner and their second (first rerun) banner. Wriothesley debuted in 4.1 and first reran in 5.4 — a 13-version gap, the largest among every character with at least one rerun as of this writing.

FAQ
Why only 3 trivia bits, not more?
Because our rule is that every trivia bit has to be independently recomputable from the exact two banner/character data files we have — nothing copied from any site's Trivia section. Other common trivia (like the pattern for free 4-star event characters) needs event-quest data we don't have yet, so it was dropped instead of guessed.
