Lan Yan is one of the most worthwhile 4-star shielders straight at C0: her shield covers the whole team and she swirls, so run 4pc Viridescent Venerer to shred RES for your carry. She fits almost every hypercarry — Neuvillette, Arlecchino or Anemo main DPS. For a thick shield, stack as much ATK as you can (aim for ~3000) and keep enough Energy Recharge. Without a premium weapon, the F2P Favonius Codex restores team energy nicely. Farm a 4pc Viridescent Venerer first.

Combat Rotation
- Before engaging, try to stand near enemies affected by Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro so you can absorb an element.
- Hold Elemental Skill (E) to enter aim mode, dash in to create the Swallow-Wisp Shield, which absorbs Anemo DMG at 250% efficiency.
- If the dash hits a Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro effect, the shield undergoes Elemental Absorption and gains 250% efficiency against that element instead.
- While airborne after using E, press E again or Normal Attack to throw the Feathermoon Rings, dealing Anemo DMG (plus 50% elemental DMG if absorption occurred) that bounces between enemies twice.
- Once you have 60 Energy, unleash the Elemental Burst (Q) Lustrous Moonrise to pull nearby enemies together and deal multiple AoE Anemo DMG instances.
- Fill the gaps with Normal/Charged Attacks while E (16s CD) and Q (15s CD, 60 Energy) are on cooldown.
- Repeat the loop: E for absorption → throw rings → Q once energy is full → Normal Attacks, to maximize AoE damage and shielding.
