Pity & Contract rates

Official pity numbers straight from the in-game contract rules.

The short answer

There are 2 character contract types: Chance — if you haven't pulled a 5★ in 79 draws, the 80th is guaranteed, but the featured character only wins 50% of the time; and Targeted — a longer pity (110 draws), but the guaranteed 5★ IS the featured character, with no 50/50. Weapon contracts pity at 70. Every type guarantees a 4★ or higher every 10 draws. Pity does not carry between contract types.

How this was calculated

    Official numbers (v4.4)

    5★ hard pity: 80 4★ guarantee: 10 Featured rate: 50/50 300 draws = choose a 5★ (first time)

Source: the official in-game contract rules text (v4.4 game data). Pity carries over between consecutive Limited banners of the same ticket type; the Chance and Targeted modes keep separate pity, and character and weapon pity are also separate.

    Drop rates

    Character banner 5★ character: 0.8% 4★ character: 6.2% 2★ character: 93%
    Weapon banner 5★ weapon: 0.8% 4★ weapon: 8% 3★ weapon: 91.2%
Targeted banner 5★ base rate: 0.4%

    Cognition Crystal cost

    1 pull = 150 Cognition Crystal 80 pulls (hard pity) = 12,000 Cognition Crystal 160 pulls (guaranteed featured) = 24,000 Cognition Crystal

Reference only: at common package pricing, 80–160 pulls is roughly $384–$408 (currency and package deals vary by region and promo).

These are neutral numbers to help you plan, not a recommendation to spend. Decide for yourself whether pulling is worth it for you.

    FAQ

Does pity carry over to the next banner?

Yes — pity carries over to the next Limited banner that uses the same ticket type (e.g. 75 pulls on the old banner + 5 pulls on the new one still reaches the 80-pull pity).

Are character and weapon pity the same counter?

No — they're tracked separately. Character pity caps at 80 (Chance) or 110 (Targeted); weapon pity caps at 70. Pulling on one banner doesn't affect the other.

I got a 5★ in the middle of a 10-pull — what happens to my pity?

Your pity resets from that pull, and every pull after it counts toward the next pity — you don't lose progress from the rest of the 10-pull.

Does switching banners reset my pity?

No — switching between banners of the same ticket type keeps your pity count. Only actually pulling a Limited 5★ resets it.

    Global server caveat

As of this writing, the Global server may not yet have the Targeted (110-pull) Exclusive banner — only the Chance (80/160-pull) banner may be available. Some players in the community report hitting hard pity at 80/80 on Global with no noticeable soft pity, unlike CN/KR/TW where players often report pulling a 5★ around pull 70. This is an unconfirmed community observation, not an official statement. Because of this uncertainty, the calculator above always computes hard pity (the worst case), so its numbers stay safe even if soft pity turns out not to exist on Global.
