Gacha & Pity System Explained
Hard pity numbers, the 50/50 rule, and how standard banners differ from pickup banners.
On standard banners, a 5★ (SSR) is guaranteed within 80 pulls at the latest (hard pity), and every 5★ pull follows a 50/50 — lose it once and your very next 5★ is guaranteed to be the rate-up unit. Limited pickup banners run on their own 120-pull hard pity with the rate-up guaranteed, and SR (4★) items have a separate hard pity of just 10 pulls on any banner.
Standard banner: 80-pull pity, 50/50
Every pull on a standard banner counts toward an 80-pull counter that resets only when you get a 5★. When that 5★ lands, there's a 50/50 chance it's the current rate-up unit — if it isn't, the counter for the next 5★ carries a guarantee, so that one is the rate-up unit for certain.
Pickup banners: 120-pull guarantee
Limited/pickup banners track their own separate 120-pull counter. Reach it and the rate-up unit is guaranteed at 100%, independent from the standard banner's 50/50 mechanic — treat this as your absolute worst-case budget when planning currency for a specific character.
SR (4★) pity: only 10 pulls
Separately from the 5★ counter, SR (4★) drops have their own hard pity of just 10 pulls, so you're never more than one 10-pull away from at least a 4★ — useful for keeping a steady flow of usable characters and gear-adjacent materials even between 5★ pity cycles.
Reading a banner page before pulling
Before spending currency, check whether the banner is standard or limited/pickup — that alone tells you which hard-pity number (80 vs 120) applies, and whether a lost 50/50 will carry over. Track your real pull count on the pity tool instead of guessing from memory.
