Barcarola — Review & Analysis
Barcarola is a Mental DPS (Star, 6★, S-tier) built entirely around the Impromptu Incantation mechanic: both incantations deal single-target Mental DMG while stacking extra attack counts and DMG bonuses onto Impromptu Incantation, snowballing harder each turn. Her Ultimate not only strikes but extends Quartet on the whole team and restores Moxie to every ally holding that status, making her both a DPS core and a Moxie battery for a Quartet-based lineup. She hits her ceiling when 3 or more allies share the Quartet state.
- Two incantations that feed each other: skill 1 adds attack counts to Impromptu Incantation while skill 2 adds DMG — together they build an ever-heavier single-target chain.
- Her Ultimate is a team-wide Moxie battery: it extends Quartet, restores 3 Moxie to every ally under that status, and tops up her own Moxie as well.
- The 3+ Quartet allies condition unlocks both extra attack counts and bonus DMG, richly rewarding a lineup built for it.
- Star Afflatus counters Mineral (+30% DMG dealt in that matchup).
- Heavily dependent on the Quartet state: without 3 allies holding it she loses the bonus attack counts and DMG, and her output drops noticeably outside a dedicated lineup.
- Every attack is single-target and Moxie-hungry (2 per incantation), and as a Star Afflatus she is countered by Plant (takes extra DMG).
Level her Ultimate first to lock in the Quartet engine and the team's Moxie supply, then the two Impromptu Incantation incantations — push the DMG% incantation first for a damage lean, or the attack-count incantation first for more hits. For Psychubes, since her core role is single-target Mental DMG, favor ATK/Crit-oriented options; consider a Moxie-restoring or buff-extending support Psychube if you run her more as an energy battery for a Quartet lineup.

Where to Get
Teams with Barcarola
Barcarola, Aleph and Kiperina all tap into Impromptu — combining it across three kits at once outperforms any single carry doing it alone. Name Day keeps the line-up alive with Heal so that payoff has time to land.
Teams →Paper Heron spends her own Eureka to add extra hits and bonus DMG% onto Impromptu Incantation, the shared follow-up counter that Barcarola, Aleph and Kiperina each feed independently through their own kits — stacking all four Impromptu carries at once compounds the same counter instead of splitting the mechanic across two separate teams. Kiperina's Shield and Cleanse cover the survivability a dedicated healer would otherwise provide.
