NIKKE Hexa Code Explained: The Hexagonal Gear System for Characters
Hexa Code — the hexagonal character code system that adds power on top of Overload Gear

How Hexa Code differs from Overload Gear
The core difference is WHAT the gear attaches to: Overload Gear are stones equipped by CLASS — one Overload Gear built for Attackers can be shared across every Attacker in the squad as long as the class requirement is met. Hexa Code works the opposite way, attaching to an INDIVIDUAL CHARACTER (or that character's specific element/faction) — you can't freely move one character's Hexa Code onto another character the way you can with class-based Overload Gear.
Because it's character-specific, Hexa Code allows a NIKKE's power to scale in a more PERSONALIZED direction — rather than just boosting generic class-wide stats, it can amplify that exact character's strengths or playstyle.
Its role in endgame squad building
Hexa Code is added AFTER a player has already built out the core progression pillars (Skills, Cubes, gear, Overload Gear). It functions as an ADDITIONAL power layer for the endgame stage, once the basic upgrade paths are nearing their ceiling and the player needs extra depth to push a core character further.
Because it attaches per character, Hexa Code investment tends to concentrate on a squad's KEY NIKKEs (main DPS, an irreplaceable support) rather than being spread thin — the resources spent maxing one Hexa Code are locked to that one character and can't be reused on another the way class-based Overload Gear can.
