Illuga
Illuga doesn't do much damage himself, but he's the key that pushes Zibai and the whole Lunar-Crystallize team well above their normal ceiling — his EM buff scales directly with reaction damage. Favonius Lance or the craftable Kitain Cross Spear are plenty, no premium weapon needed. Prioritize Energy Recharge first so he can burst every rotation, then stack as much Elemental Mastery as possible through the Silken Moon's Serenade set. If you're not building a Crystallize team, Illuga is close to useless — don't waste resources on him.

Teams for Illuga
Itto also benefits from the Crystallize EM buff with Illuga and Columbina around, while Gorou adds extra Geo DMG% and RES.
Illuga's talents
Oathkeeper's Spear
Performs up to 4 consecutive spear strikes.
Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to lunge forward, dealing damage to opponents along the way.
Plunging Attack
Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Dawnbearing Songbird
Tap
Aedon dashes towards enemies in front, dealing Geo DMG to enemies it comes into contact with.
Hold
Enter aiming mode, and command Aedon to dash towards opponents being aimed at, dealing Geo DMG to opponents it comes into contact with.
Shadowless Reflection
When Geo DMG dealt in this manner hits multiple opponents, multiple stacks of Nightingale's Song will be consumed, depending on how many opponents are hit.
Additionally, if there are Geo Constructs created by nearby party members on the battlefield while Illuga unleashes his Elemental Burst, or when nearby party members create Geo Constructs while Haunted Night's Oriole-Song is active, every Geo Construct on the battlefield will allow Illuga to gain 5 additional stacks of Nightingale's Song. Within 20s after unleashing his Elemental Burst, Illuga can gain a maximum of 15 additional stacks of Nightingale's Song this way.
When all stacks of Nightingale's Song have been consumed, or when the state's duration ends, the Haunted Night's Oriole-Song effect will end.
Torchforger's Covenant
Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam
Party members affected by the Lightkeeper's Oath effect have their Elemental Mastery increased by 50.
Demonhunter's Dusk
Moonsign Benediction: Unwithering in Winter
Night Warden's Stride
Does not take effect in Domains, Trounce Domains, or Spiral Abyss. Swift Stride does not stack.
Additionally, Illuga appears to be able to decipher the whispers of the Wild Hunt...
Combat Rotation
- Tap the Elemental Skill (E) so Aedon dashes in for an opening Geo hit and starts building Energy.
- Swap to the main DPS and attack normally while Illuga's Energy climbs toward the 60 needed for his Burst.
- Unleash the Elemental Burst (Q, costs 60 Energy) – Shadowless Reflection: AoE Geo DMG plus the 20s Haunted Night's Oriole-Song effect carrying 21 stacks of Nightingale's Song.
- If Geo Constructs (shields, pillars, etc.) are already on the field when Q goes off, or get placed within that 20s window, Illuga gains up to 15 extra stacks (5 per construct).
- Swap the main DPS in immediately to land Geo DMG (Normal/Charged/Plunge/Skill/Burst) and burn through the Nightingale's Song stacks one by one, each adding bonus damage scaled off Illuga's Elemental Mastery.
- Make use of the 20s Lightkeeper's Oath team buff (triggered by E or Q): nearby allies' Geo DMG gets +5% CRIT Rate and +10% CRIT DMG.
- Once E is off cooldown (15s), tap Aedon again to keep the Geo pressure up and top off Energy.
- Loop it: keep Illuga off-field while the main DPS spends stacks, then bring him back for another Burst as soon as 60 Energy is ready and the old 21 stacks are spent or expired.
Illuga constellations
After Illuga triggers a Geo-related Reaction on the field, he will regain 12 Elemental Energy. This effect can be triggered at most once every 15s.
When Elemental Burst Shadowless Reflection's Haunted Night's Oriole-Song effect is active, for every 7 stacks of Nightingale's Song consumed, Illuga will summon Aedon, dealing a single instance of Geo DMG to 1 nearby opponent. The DMG dealt is based on 400% of Illuga's Elemental Mastery and 200% of his DEF. This DMG is considered Elemental Burst DMG.
Increases the Level of Elemental Burst Shadowless Reflection by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
When Elemental Burst Shadowless Reflection's Haunted Night's Oriole-Song effect is active, nearby active party members will have their DEF increased by 200.
Increases the Level of Elemental Skill Dawnbearing Songbird by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Enhances the Lightkeeper's Oath effect of the Ascension Talent Torchforger's Covenant: For Geo DMG dealt to opponents, CRIT Rate is increased by 10%, CRIT DMG is increased by 30%.

Birthday
Happy birthday, squadmate! Forget about commissions and adventures — days like this are reserved for close friends, full bellies, and catching up on sleep! I'll be standing watch, so you just focus on letting your hair down. And on the off-chance we get gate-crashers, I'll scare 'em off with my trusty lamp.
Self-Introduction
Hello
Hey there! I'm Illuga, leader of the Lightkeepers' investigation squad. Lost your way, huh? Heh, don't worry... that happens a lot. These paths aren't exactly "traveler-friendly," even on the best of days. Just follow my lead — I'll light the way ahead.
About Illuga: Lightkeepers
Hehe, it took a lot of pestering before my old pops finally let me join the Lightkeepers. I just couldn't bear the idea of staying in Piramida safe and sound while others were out there risking their lives. Like I told him, I'd rather be on the frontlines helping keep the Wild Hunt at bay.
About Illuga: Squad Leader
Being squad leader essentially means I'm responsible for keeping my comrades alive. Some days I still wonder if I'm really cut out for it... but since they've placed their trust in me, I can't let them down.
More About Illuga: I
You want to know about my past? Hmm, let me think... Nope, I don't think there's anything in there that would put a smile on your face. You... sure you wanna hear it?
More About Illuga: II
Meet Aedon, my messenger bird — the trusty little guy who comes with me whenever I head out on night patrol. Honestly, I couldn't ask for a better companion. Not only does he alert me to danger, he even lights the way ahead... Huh? You mean, despite all that traveling, even you've never seen a bird that glows like this before? Hold up... Could he... actually be more than just a regular messenger bird?
More About Illuga: III
You've probably noticed that my Oath Lantern is a bit different from the standard-issue ones that everyone else carries. It's not because I'm a squad leader or anything like that — it's just the signal lamp I used back when I served in the logistics squad. Later, when our equipment was upgraded, this became the last of its kind. I guess you could say I've grown kinda attached to it. The idea of replacing it... doesn't quite feel right.
More About Illuga: IV
You know how I call Nikita "my old pops"? Well, it probably wouldn't surprise you to hear that the others all call him "old man" too. Despite that, though, I don't actually think he's aged much at all. He still remembers the positions of every lighthouse and who's stationed there even better than I do, and no matter how hard I try, I can never hide a thing from him. But that's exactly why I can't help but wonder — what will happen someday when the years finally catch up to him?
More About Illuga: V
Whenever the Wild Hunt comes forth, the wails of the dead follow in its wake... and every time I hear those cries, I feel like I'm back on that battlefield, reliving the day that my old pops took me in. Perhaps as long as the Wild Hunt still roams this land, the nightmares that haunt me will never truly fade.
About Us: Duty
It's a Lightkeeper's duty to protect the merchants and travelers who pass through our lands. Does that include adventurers, you ask? Well... technically, it's not part of the job description, but I can tell you this — no one's getting hurt on my watch.
About Us: Squad Members
Now that you're a member of the investigation squad, I'm responsible for your safety, and a whole squad's worth of "little birds" tell me you've been off adventuring in dangerous places again. Seeing you safe and sound puts my mind at ease, but I'd feel even better if you let me come with you!
Thoughts About Other Characters
Flins
When I first met Mr. Flins, I assumed that the reason he lived alone was either because he didn't like being around people, or that he was just a little... eccentric. Turns out that the complete opposite is true — well, at least in terms of his social appetite. Only thing is, every time we talk, he always seems to end his stories on a cliffhanger... Sometimes, I wonder if that's his way of making sure I'll come back to hear the rest.
Flins
You're saying there's a lot more to Mr. Flins than meets the eye? Hah... Well, that's hardly unusual for a Ratnik. We're all from different walks of life, so who doesn't have a few things they'd rather keep to themselves? Even my old pops rarely talks about his past. As for Mr. Flins... well, I've certainly got to know him a lot better, and after everything that's been going on lately, I've got a rough idea of what he might be hiding. I actually asked about it once, but he neither confirmed nor denied my suspicions. In a way, I guess that's an answer in itself.
Lauma
Our friendship with the Frostmoon Scions goes all the way back to the days of the Torchforger himself. Truth is, though, even if it didn't, I'd still have nothing but admiration for the current Moonchanter. She's kind, gentle, and I end up learning something new every time I visit. In times like these, her job can't be any easier than ours — yet somehow, she always manages to stay so serene. I'd bet that she's been shouldering a lot more than she lets on.
Varka
I've fought side-by-side with Mr. Varka against the Wild Hunt, and I can tell you this — his fighting skills are up there with the best of them. I've heard that the Knights of Favonius were founded to defend their homeland, just like us Lightkeepers. I hope that someday, once we've finally driven the Wild Hunt from Nod-Krai, we'll be able to travel beyond these lands and fight for those living in hardship elsewhere as well.
Nefer
Our operations in Nasha Town have become way smoother in recent times, and it's mostly thanks to the Curatorium of Secrets. It sure wasn't like this before, I'll tell you that. Before Miss Nefer arrived on the scene, it was like we were locked in a constant battle with the town's gangs, and it used to worry my old pops sick. Things have improved immensely since then, though. That said, Miss Nefer seems to love teasing me just as much as Mr. Flins does... and I have to admit, that can be a bit of a headache sometimes.
Aino
Whenever the Lightkeepers need help fixing complex machinery, we tend to ask for Miss Aino's assistance. She really seems determined to teach us how to do it ourselves, though. Ever since she caught me trying to repair something on my own, she's been constantly insisting that I attend her classes... How exactly was I trying to fix it, you ask? Hah, well, if you must know, it was a trick I learned from my old pops. As he likes to put it, "if something's not working, just whack it a few times!" To my shock, that set her off something fierce...
Linnea
Even in a place as diverse as Nod-Krai, Fae ladies like Miss Linnea are few and far between. I originally figured she'd be the quiet, graceful type, but it turns out that was WAY off. For instance, the first time she saw Aedon, she got so excited that she practically pounced on him. It spooked him so bad that now, the second he hears her voice, he bolts for my lamp. And remember, this is Aedon we're talking about here — a messenger bird who's usually so "unflappable" that he wouldn't flinch for anything, not even the Wild Hunt...
Hobbies & Personality
Illuga's Hobbies
Now you mention it, I guess I spend most of my downtime with my squadmates too. Lately, we've all been hooked on this new game called "Tabletop Troupe." We're still short a couple of players, though... So how about it? Wanna join us?
Illuga's Troubles
The thought of innocent people dying in sudden, meaningless calamities is something I can never accept. I just wish that no one else ever has to go through something like that again... That's all I've ever worked for.
Favorite Food
To be honest, I don't really have any strong preferences when it comes to food. The way I see it, as long as we can all gather around the fire and share a warm meal, whatever's on the table tastes like the finest cuisine there is.
Least Favorite Food
As long as it's hot, I'm fine with just about anything. Cold food, though... Yeah, not so much. Imagine — you're out on night watch in the dead of winter, and you're handed a bowl of stone cold gruel. The mere thought of it makes me wanna say something I really shouldn't...
Feelings About Ascension
Feelings About Ascension: Intro
Huh, if only I'd known about this sooner. Now that's what I call a game-changer.
Feelings About Ascension: Building Up
I'm certainly feeling stronger... but I can tell I've still got a long way to go.
Feelings About Ascension: Climax
Can't believe how much I've learned, and it's all thanks to you. Heh, I might finally be starting to believe in myself...
Feelings About Ascension: Conclusion
I've relied on you so much up till now, and I really appreciate your help. Now that I'm feeling up to it, I hope you'll let me return the favor... once in a while, at least.
Receiving a Gift
Receiving a Gift: I
Wow, now that's what I call flavor... Seriously, what's the secret ingredient? I wanna learn how to make this myself!
Receiving a Gift: II
Not bad! Heh, wait till my comrades get a taste of this!
Receiving a Gift: III
Ahem... Hey, I can teach you a few other dishes, if you'd like!

Strengths & Weaknesses
- At Lv90, Illuga already gets +96% Elemental Mastery baked into the ascension stat line — no artifacts needed for this part.
- Buffs the whole team's DMG/stats via Night Warden's Stride, with no elemental restriction on party composition.
- The core mechanic (via Shadowless Reflection) scales with Elemental Mastery — EM-focused artifacts are usually cheap/easy to roll since few main DPS need them.
- 4★ (Polearm) — obtainable via the standard wish/banner, no need to pull on a limited banner.
- Needs Geo teammates in the party to fully trigger Demonhunter's Dusk — flexibility is constrained by team elemental composition.
- Since it scales with EM (via Shadowless Reflection), it must trade off CRIT/ATK% for Elemental Mastery — raw Normal Attack/Burst DMG tends to be lower than ATK-based DPS.
- The ascension stat isn't CRIT Rate/DMG — this kit isn't built to carry the team's main damage, fitting a support/sub-DPS role better than a main carry.
Role Rankings
Machine-classified by scanning mechanic keywords in the OFFICIAL skill text (not another site's opinion ranking). Characters whose weapon type is inherently elemental (e.g. catalysts, bows) may not show "Does this well" for On-Field even if they can still be played on-field — this is a limit of text-based detection.
