Memory Fragments: 6 Slots, 19 Set Bonuses & How to Farm
Memory Fragments are Chaos Zero Nightmare's main gear system, separate from Weapon/Armor/Accessory. Every combatant equips all 6 pieces; each piece has one main stat and up to 4 sub-stats, and equipping a matching 2- or 4-piece set unlocks that set's bonus.
Memory Fragments are a combatant's second gear system (alongside Weapon/Armor/Accessory), built from 6 fixed slots. Each piece carries one main stat and up to 4 sub-stats that get upgraded over time; equipping 2 or 4 pieces from the same set activates that set's own bonus.
6 Equipment Slots
The first 3 slots (Shock/Suppression/Denial) have a FIXED main stat; the last 3 (Ideal/Desire/Imagination) roll a RANDOM main stat from that slot's available list. Every piece also carries up to 4 sub-stats, randomly drawn from one shared pool used across all 6 slots.
| Slot | Available main stats | Kind |
|---|---|---|
| I Shock | Flat ATK | Fixed |
| II Suppression | Flat DEF | Fixed |
| III Denial | Flat HP | Fixed |
| IV Ideal | ATK% / DEF% / HP% / Critical Chance% / Critical Damage% | Random |
| V Desire | ATK% / DEF% / HP% / Passion DMG% / Order DMG% / Justice DMG% / Void DMG% / Instinct DMG% | Random |
| VI Imagination | ATK% / DEF% / HP% / Ego Recovery | Random |
Exact sub-stat ranges by rarity (Uncommon/Rare/Legendary), plus a tool to score your own build, already live on the Memory Fragment Scorer — this page only covers the mechanic.

Where to farm each set
The source's Simulation section lists exactly 12/19 sets across 6 farming zones (2 sets each) — each zone is its own stage inside Simulation, not the regular Chaos Manifestation.
| Zone (Simulation) | Sets that drop here |
|---|---|
| Phase and Trace | Conqueror's Aspect · Healer's Journey |
| Glory and Authority | Line of Justice · Tetra's Authority |
| Cycle and Civilization | Bullet of Order · Cursed Corpse |
| Greed and Tenacity | Offering of the Void · Black Wing |
| Seth's Scarab | Instinctual Growth · Seth's Scarab |
| Corpses and Tools | Spark of Passion · Executioner's Tool |
7 newer sets have no confirmed farm zone in the source: Wireth's Steel · Orb of Inhibition · Judgment's Flames · Beast's Yearning · Glory's Reign · Prelude to a Hero · Starlight and Dreams. Not yet announced
Set recommendations by Main Attribute
Derived from first-party data: every character has 1 of 5 Main Attributes (Order/Justice/Void/Instinct/Passion — see the Combatant page); the table below matches each attribute to sets whose own effect text names that exact attribute, so you can verify it yourself instead of taking someone's word for it.
| Main Attribute | Recommended sets | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Order | Bullet of Order · Beast's Yearning | The set's own effect says "Order damage" (or both Justice and Order) — a character whose Main Attribute is Order gets a boost to the exact damage type they deal. |
| Justice | Beast's Yearning | The set's own effect names "Justice" (paired with Order) — a Justice character gets boosted Attack-card damage in their own attribute. |
| Void | Offering of the Void · Orb of Inhibition · Prelude to a Hero | The set's own effect says "Void damage" or targets Void cards — a Void character gets a boost to the exact damage type or a condition tied to playing Void cards. |
| Instinct | Instinctual Growth · Judgment's Flames | The set's own effect says "Instinct damage" — an Instinct character gets a boost to the exact damage type they deal. |
| Passion | Spark of Passion · Prelude to a Hero | The set's own effect says "Passion damage" or targets Passion cards — a Passion character gets a boost to the exact damage type or a condition tied to playing Passion cards. |
Conqueror's Aspect · Tetra's Authority · Healer's Journey · Black Wing · Seth's Scarab · Executioner's Tool · Cursed Corpse · Wireth's Steel · Glory's Reign · Starlight and Dreams
These sets grant flat stats (ATK%/DEF%/HP%/Crit DMG) or generic conditions (cheap cards, Basic cards, debuffed enemies, counterattacks, Exhaust cards, gaining Shield) — none of it is locked to an attribute, so any Main Attribute can use them equally well.
⚠ The table above only reasons from Main Attribute. Class (Controller/Vanguard/Hunter/Ranger/Psionic/Striker) is currently just a categorical label — the source hasn't published what each Class actually plays like, so this page does not guess a Class-based recommendation to avoid making things up.
How to Unlock & Farm
Upgrade costs
3 materials used specifically to upgrade Memory Fragments — this is a rule of the upgrade system itself (everyone needs it to upgrade), not a stat belonging to any single fragment.
| Material | Unlocked via (Research Facility) | Amount per upgrade tier |
|---|---|---|
| Traces of Memory | Nono's Shop Equipment Support | Not yet announced |
| Core of Memory | Nono's Shop Upgrade Support | Not yet announced |
| Particles of Memory | Not yet announced | Not yet announced |
The source confirms there IS a research node called "Upgrade Cost Reduction" (reduces the Memory Fragment upgrade cost) and that all 3 materials above are Material-type items — but it doesn't state the exact amount needed per upgrade tier, so that column stays "not yet announced" rather than a guess.
2 New Sets in Season 4
Season 4 (Galactic Disaster) adds 2 new Memory Fragment sets: Sanguine Thorn and Battlefield Evolution. The source currently only confirms these 2 names — the specific effects haven't been announced yet.
The 6-slot and 19-set tables are compiled from game update data, cross-checked against multiple community sources (source not named here). Anything the source hasn't announced (the Season 4 set effects) is marked "not yet announced" — not guessed.

Quick answers
A combatant's 6-slot gear system, where each slot has one main stat and up to 4 sub-stats; equipping a matching 2- or 4-piece set adds that set's bonus.
Community sources disagree on the unlock level (25 or 40) — no official confirmation, so we won't lock in a number. What is confirmed: Legendary pieces drop at Difficulty 5 of Simulation, and Difficulty 5 unlocks at Captain Level 40. Upgrading needs Multidimensional Alignment Material, exchangeable at the Zeronium Shop.
Yes, 2 new sets: Sanguine Thorn and Battlefield Evolution. The source currently only confirms the names — specific effects haven't been announced yet.
