Recommended Drive Discs

4pc Yunkui Tales is tailor-made for Yixuan (stacks CRIT Rate + boosts Sheer DMG); 2pc Woodpecker Electro adds CRIT Rate.
Keep 4pc Yunkui Tales as the core; swap in 2pc Hormone Punk for ATK% when you're short on CRIT sources.
Stat priority

4: CRIT Rate (or CRIT DMG) · 5: HP% (or Ether DMG) · 6: HP%

CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG (aim for at least ~70% CRIT Rate, 1:2 ratio) > HP% > flat HP > ATK%; stack ~18-20k HP.

Skill priority: Core Skill first (level to F) → EX Special + Ultimate → Basic Attack / Dodge.

Quick verdict

Well worth maxing: a top-meta Rupture DPS with high self-sufficient damage and great synergy with Lucia. She needs both CRIT and HP (~18-20k), so she demands well-rolled discs, and she peaks with a Rupture support (Lucia); without Lucia she's still strong but loses some Sheer Force.

Stat targets

Level 60 targets : HP ≥18,000 (ideally ~21,000), ATK ~2,500. CRIT Rate: with the signature qingming-birdcage W-Engine (gives +20% CRIT) you only need 30-50% from discs; without it aim ~67% CRIT Rate (67.4% → 99.4% once in-combat buffs apply). CRIT DMG ~120-130%+. Since Yixuan's Sheer Force scales off Max HP, HP is both survivability and damage — don't drop HP to chase pure CRIT.

Rotation & combos

1) Opener: with M1, immediately fire an opening Ultimate (already at 120 Technique Points); at M0, hold Basic Attack and Perfect Dodge to bank Adrenaline. 2) Out-of-stun loop: spend ~180 Adrenaline to refill Technique Points, prioritizing EX Special: Ink Manifestation to stack points and keep pressure. 3) When Technique Points are full → cast Ultimate (Qingming Sky Shade basic / Endless Talisman Suppression enhanced) for Auric Ink. 4) In the stun/break window: Technique-Point Ultimate → held EX Special: Cloud-Shaper (her big hit, saved for stun) → finish with the Decibel/Ultimate to chain maximum burst.

Pros
  • All-rounder for single-target and AoE: clears mobs and bosses alike, one of the highest sustained-damage DPS in 3.0 meta.
  • Fully ignores enemy DEF via Sheer damage — currently one of the only effective counters to the Miasma Shield gimmick.
  • Double-Ultimate system (Qingming Sky Shade + Endless Talisman) delivers boss-obliterating burst inside stun windows.
  • Sheer Force scales off Max HP, so stacking HP boosts both survivability and damage at once.
Cons
  • Uses Adrenaline instead of Energy, so standard Energy Regen buffs do NOT apply to her.
  • Already ignores DEF, so PEN and DEF-shred buffs are wasted on her — she wants specific supports (Pan Yinhu, Astra Yao, Trigger).
  • Demands long field time and careful Adrenaline/Technique-Point management — tricky to pilot; new players easily lose damage.

Endgame mode fit

Shiyu Defense

Great for Shiyu Defense: S-tier. Her mixed single-target/AoE damage plus double Ultimate lets her clear both mob-heavy and boss floors, with little layout dependency.

Deadly Assault

Very strong in Deadly Assault: S-tier. Her single-target burst inside stun windows is huge, ideal for DA's boss-focused scoring — and ignoring DEF means tanky bosses don't slow her.

This can trigger once every 10s.Upon entering combat, Yixuan immediately restores all Adrenaline. In Investigation Zone Mode, this effect can only trigger once every 180s. Triggering a Perfect Dodge grants an additional 5 Adrenaline and can occur at most once per second. When she consumes Adrenaline, Yixuan accumulates Technique Points, gaining 0.667 points for each point of Adrenaline consumed. With enough Technique Points, she can trigger an additional Ultimate: Endless Talisman Suppression. The maximum for Technique Points is 120.The DMG dealt by Yixuan's Basic Attack: Auric Array, Basic Attack: Qingming Eruption, EX Special Attack, Assist Follow-Up, Chain Attack, and Ultimate increases by 30%.After launching Ultimate: Endless Talisman Suppression, Yixuan gains one Auric Ink Point. Mindscapes — how far is worth it?

M1 Spiritual Path Worth it

Upon entering combat, CRIT Rate increases by 10% and immediately gain 120 Technique Points. In Investigation Zone Mode, this effect can only trigger once every 180s. When any squad member lands a hit on an enemy, Yixuan automatically summons an extra lightning strike, dealing DMG equal to 50% of her Sheer Force and restoring 5 additional Adrenaline. This can trigger once every 6s. "Fate is ever-changing and the path ahead uncertain. Only a pure, peaceful spirit holds firm. Even through the tides of time, I harbor no regrets." "The mystic arts take a thousand forms, yet its core stays the same; the road may fork and falter, but the spirit stays steadfast." "No matter the peril you face or the foe you meet, improvise as needed and face them with composure."

M2 Ward Off Misfortune Worth it

When an Ultimate or EX Special Attack deals DMG, it ignores 15% of the target's Ether RES. Triggering Ultimate: Qingming Skyshade extends all enemies' Stunned state by 3s. In a single Stun state duration, enemies can only have this effect applied once, and it does not stack with similar effects. Additionally, when using Ultimate: Endless Talisman Suppression, gain one stack of the Condensed Ink effect After Basic Attack: Qingming Eruption or EX Special Attack: Ashen Ink Becomes Shadows, press the Basic Attack button, or after EX Special Attack: Qingming Eruption - Break, press the Special Attack button to consume one stack of Condensed Ink and launch EX Special Attack: Endless Talisman Suppression - Break, dealing DMG up to 1,200% of Sheer Force. Only one stack of Condensed Ink can be held at a time. "Life's twists are unpredictable — at best, the diviner discerns but a fraction." "Dispelling misfortune and blessing rituals are merely reading the signs to pursue gain and avoid peril." "Once you understand how to sidestep misfortune, you can just as easily cast it upon your foe... just call forth the calamity they've yet to face."

M3 Cycle of Yin and Yang Low value

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 "Everything in the world follows laws of mutual generation and restraint; by understanding that principle, you can balance yin and yang to overpower your foes." "Achieving optimal results with simple techniques isn't cutting corners, but a natural result of following the flow."

M4 The One Path of Mysticism Situational

Activating an Ultimate grants one stack of Tranquility, up to a max of 2 stacks. For each stack of Tranquility, the next EX Special Attack: Cloud-Shaper DMG and EX Special Attack: Ashen Ink Becomes Shadows DMG increase by 30%. "It's said that countless transformations arise from a single principle. In studying the mystic arts, one must not be bound by forms but must grasp their underlying meaning." "If you can perceive the core principles, each technique flows into another. Such is the path of the mystic: infinite forms converge into unity."

M5 Calm Sky Vigil Low value

Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 "To master the mystic arts, diligent study and reflection are but the start — you must learn to maintain a pure mind, listening to the wind and watching the clouds." "When you transcend self and world, your command of Ether grows ever stronger, almost without effort." "As you persist, you'll be able to maintain inner poise through any trial, meeting any change with unshakable calm."

M6 Swift Yet Still Worth it

After using Ultimate: Qingming Skyshade, gain a stack of the Regulated Breathing effect. While under this effect, you can ignore the Technique Point cost to launch Ultimate: Endless Talisman Suppression once. The Regulated Breathing effect ends after Ultimate: Endless Talisman Suppression is used. This effect can only be gained once every 30s. Only one stack of Regulated Breathing can be held. Additionally, while in the Meditation state, Yixuan's Sheer DMG is increased by 20%. "Tranquility to govern force, motion and calm coexist. In every movement there lies a pause, and in every pause a potential for energy." "At any moment, if your mind remains clear, you can meet endless change with unchanging focus — and strike for victory at just the right moment." "Do you understand?" "If not, that's okay... after silent contemplation, there comes that instant of awakening. This is yet another expression of 'swift yet still.'"

Background & Lore

Yixuan is the 13th High Preceptor of Yunkui Summit and a Void Hunter-level investigator, officially recognized by Mayor Mayflower. She was once an orphan, wandering the world with her sister from a young age. Later, the then-High Preceptor of Yunkui Summit took them in, and they became disciples, learning the craft of Yunkui Summit. During this time, Yixuan demonstrated exceptional talent. No matter the technique, she would quickly master it, not only understanding it thoroughly but also creating her own unique techniques. The Qingming Bird was one of the special techniques she and her sister developed together, which helped her eliminate enemies and banish evil spirits in various difficult and dangerous situations. After becoming the sect's High Preceptor, she accepted an invitation from Mayor Mayflower and joined the Hollow Investigative Association as a partnered special investigator. After becoming High Preceptor, Yixuan took in many talented disciples to continue Yunkui Summit's lineage. However, her approach is rather casual, and often, even when teaching by example, her disciples can only guess her intentions... Yet, Yixuan isn't troubled by this, as she believes there's no standard answer to the so-called "right path." What matters to her is that her disciples find their own "right path." Of course, if they can understand and learn on their own, that's even better. As their Shifu, she simply lets things unfold naturally. Increase Trust to Close to unlock more When Yixuan was young, she loved eating char siu buns with her sister. but after the fall of the old capital, she lost all interest in them overnight and hasn't eaten them much since. The disciples of Yunkui Summit are unaware of this, and just think their master is a bit picky. Naturally, it's best to keep this a secret. Some memories and attachments should just be left to fade away with time. Belle Shifu always seems quite laid-back, as if she doesn't have any strong attachments or opinions. Perhaps, through her travels and divinations, she's seen too many people's joys, sorrows, and struggles, and fate has taken its toll on her. Wise Since Shifu can do divinations and tell fortunes, many things must no longer surprise her. Every change can be predicted with precision. Perhaps that's why she remains so calm and indifferent, with no desires or demands.

More unlocks as Trust with this character increases in-game.

How to read this build page

Every Agent build page has 4 parts: a stat table by level, W-Engine/Drive Disc suggestions, a Mindscape roadmap, and recommended teams. Read them in that order — stats tell you "what you need", gear tells you "where to get it", Mindscape tells you "is it worth pulling", teams tell you "who to pair with". The section below explains how to read each part, and it applies the same way to every character on the site.

How to read the stat table and level

The stat table shows values at the ascension breakpoints (usually the final one, e.g. Lv60) — these are BASE stats with no gear added, useful for comparing Agents or checking whether you've ascended far enough. CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG are shown separately because they set the damage ceiling once Drive Disc substats stack on top. If your real stats are lower than the table, you likely haven't fully ascended or leveled yet — it's not a build mistake.

Why the W-Engine and Drive Disc picks make sense

Most Agents have a "signature" W-Engine designed for their exact role, plus a few cheaper standard-banner substitutes. Missing the signature isn't a dead end — most Agents keep most of their power with a well-matched substitute, just short by some amount of total damage.

  • Drive Disc sets (2pc + 4pc) are picked for the set effect that fits that Agent's playstyle (mono-element, Anomaly, stun, and so on).
  • Substats follow a priority that changes by role: Attack-type Agents usually chase CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG before ATK%; Anomaly-type Agents add Anomaly Proficiency to that mix; Stun/Support roles often value survivability or energy stats over pure CRIT.

These weights differ per character — follow the exact substat priority table above rather than applying one formula to every role.

Is Mindscape worth chasing

General rule: M0 (no duplicates) already clears the game's hardest content, even for S-rank Agents. Mindscape is a duplicate-fueled upgrade system, and each level costs more resources for a smaller power gain. For most Agents, the best value stop is usually M1–M2 (where some key effects unlock), while M6 is almost always for players chasing the absolute ceiling, not a requirement. Check the Mindscape section in the table above for that specific Agent's numbers.

Skill priority by role

There's no single order for every Agent, but the general pattern by role is:

  • Attack: level the main damage skill first (Basic or Special Attack depending on kit), Dash/Dodge last.
  • Stun: prioritize whichever skill builds Daze/Stun fastest, since the stun window is where the whole team dumps damage.
  • Support: prioritize buff or energy-generating skills over personal damage — this role's value comes from lifting the whole team.
  • Anomaly: prioritize the skill that stacks anomaly buildup, since most of the damage comes from the triggered effect, not the direct hit.

Always level the Core Skill steadily alongside the rest — it's a baseline stat that affects the whole rotation, not just one move.

Where to dig deeper

This section only teaches you how to read the page — for deeper comparisons, use the dedicated tools:

  • Tier list to see where this Agent stands against the full roster.
  • Teams for full in-game comps, including Bangboo and rotation order.
  • Disc score to check how your current gear scores against the benchmark.

Yixuan FAQ

What is the best W-Engine for Yixuan?

Yixuan performs best with Qingming Birdcage. See alternatives and required stats in the Gear section above.

Is Yixuan worth pulling?

Well worth maxing: a top-meta Rupture DPS with high self-sufficient damage and great synergy with Lucia. She needs both CRIT and HP (~18-20k), so she demands well-rolled discs, and she peaks with a Rupture support (Lucia); without Lucia she's still strong but loses some Sheer Force.

What is the best team for Yixuan?

Yixuan works best in the Standard Rupture team. Full members and rotation are in the Teams section.

Who voices Yixuan in Zenless Zone Zero?

Yixuan (faction Yunkui Summit, birthday Dec 3) is voiced according to the official credits published on the HoYoverse Wiki. See the full English/Japanese/Korean/Chinese voice actor list in the "Voice Actors & Character Info" block above — this data is pulled directly from the official wiki, not guessed.

Which Mindscape of Yixuan is worth investing in?

Yixuan has 6 Mindscape tiers (M1-M6), each unlocking its own effect detailed in the "Mindscape" block above (official wording). Mindscapes cost Mindscape Cinema currency farmed from limited banners, so weigh it against your budget — F2P players usually stop at M0-M1 and prioritize W-Engine and Drive Discs before pushing Mindscape higher.

How much Denny and how many materials to level Yixuan to Lv60?

Leveling Yixuan to max Lv60 (ascension + basic skills to 12 + core skill A→F) costs roughly 1,706,000 Denny, plus role-specific ascension materials, attribute-specific skill chips, high-dimensional data, and weekly boss drops — see the full list with exact quantities in the "Materials Needed" block above, sourced from the game's official leveling tables.
