ZZZ Drive Disc Stats — Main Stats per Slot & Substats | Zenless Zone Zero
Every ZZZ agent equips 6 Drive Discs, one per slot. Slots 1, 2 and 3 have FIXED main stats (flat HP, flat ATK, flat DEF); slots 4, 5 and 6 have RANDOM main stats, so that's where you shape your build. Each disc also has up to 4 substats, and an S-rank disc levels to 15, gaining one substat roll every 3 levels.
What Drive Discs are and the 6 slots
A Drive Disc is ZZZ's stat gear, the equivalent of artifacts/relics in other HoYo games. Each agent wears 6 discs in six slots numbered I to VI. Every disc gives 1 main stat (the big primary stat) and up to 4 substats (smaller secondary stats).
Discs come in sets: equipping 2 of the same set unlocks a 2-piece effect, 4 unlocks a 4-piece effect. This page is about stats only; the key rule to remember is that slots 1-2-3 have locked main stats, while slots 4-5-6 are the ones you get to choose.
Main stat by slot: which are fixed, which you choose
This is the most important zzz drive disc stats table. Slots I-II-III always roll one fixed stat you cannot change:
| Slot I | Flat HP (fixed) |
| Slot II | Flat ATK (fixed) |
| Slot III | Flat DEF (fixed) |
| Slot IV | HP%, ATK%, DEF%, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, or Anomaly Proficiency |
| Slot V | HP%, ATK%, DEF%, PEN Ratio, or an elemental DMG Bonus (Fire/Ice/Electric/Physical/Ether) |
| Slot VI | HP%, ATK%, DEF%, Anomaly Mastery, Impact, or Energy Regen |
Because slots IV-V-VI are random, you farm until the right main stat drops, then level it. Don't waste upgrade mats on the wrong main stat.
Max main stat values when maxed (S-rank, level 15)
Main stats grow as you level the disc; an S-rank (highest rarity) disc caps at level 15. Sourced cap values (S-rank):
- CRIT Rate: up to 24%
- CRIT DMG: up to 48%
- ATK% / HP%: up to 30%
- DEF%: up to 48%
- PEN Ratio: up to 24%
- elemental DMG Bonus (Fire/Ice/Electric/Physical/Ether): up to 30%
This is why a CRIT main stat in slot IV is so strong: a maxed CRIT DMG disc hands you 48% crit damage from the main stat alone. The three remaining mains are role-specific — pick them by role, not by raw size: Anomaly Proficiency (slot IV, flat value, for Anomaly agents), Impact (slot VI, for Stun agents) and Energy Regen (slot VI, for supports).
Substats (drive disc substats): list & per-roll values
Drive disc substats are the secondary lines, up to 4 per disc. Possible substats are: flat HP, flat ATK, flat DEF, HP%, ATK%, DEF%, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, Anomaly Proficiency, and PEN (flat value). Rule: a disc's main stat can't also appear as one of its substats (e.g. an ATK% main won't roll ATK% as a sub).
Verified per-roll values on S-rank discs:
- CRIT Rate: ~2.4% per roll (up to ~14.4% with 6 rolls)
- CRIT DMG: ~4.8% per roll (up to ~28.8%)
- ATK%: ~3% per roll (up to ~18%)
- Anomaly Proficiency: 9 per roll (up to ~54)
How substats grow as you enhance
An S-rank disc starts with 3 or 4 substats. Every 3 levels (levels 3, 6, 9, 12, 15) it enhances once:
- If it has fewer than 4 substats → it gains a new random substat.
- If it already has 4 substats → one existing substat gets an extra random roll.
Since a disc enhances 5 times total, one lucky substat can receive up to 6 rolls (1 base + 5 added) — that's the origin of the "6× base value" cap. Discs that start with 4 substats are preferred because every enhancement upgrades a substat instead of unlocking a new one.

- 2Every 3 levelsUnder 4 subs: adds a new line; at 4: upgrades an existing line

Substat Tuner: tuning substats since patch 2.5
Since patch 2.5, ZZZ added the Substat Tuner — the first time you can actively shape substats instead of leaving it to luck. Using Tuning Calibrator items, each disc can have up to 2 substats tuned: 1 Calibrator upgrades one line, 2 Calibrators upgrade two. Existing substats are KEPT; only the line you pick gains an extra roll.
It unlocks in the endgame (once you reach the required Inter-Knot level) and is accessed from the Drive Disc management menu. Tuning Calibrators come from co-op activities and dungeons and are NOT buyable with Polychrome, so supply is limited — save them for your best discs. For 2026 players this is the final optimization step: farm a disc that already has two CRIT lines, then use the Tuner to push the exact line you need.

- 3Tune up to 2 substats1 Calibrator upgrades 1 line, 2 upgrade 2 lines
Which substats to prioritize
For most damage dealers the two best substats are CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG — aim to keep them near a 1 CRIT Rate : 2 CRIT DMG ratio for balance. After that, ATK%. Anomaly agents swap toward Anomaly Proficiency and ATK% instead. Stun agents value Impact on slot VI.
Filtering tip: read the substats while the disc is still level 0. An S-rank with two CRIT lines (or CRIT + ATK%) already is worth leveling; a disc full of flat HP/DEF for a damage dealer should be dismantled without regret.
FAQ
Which Drive Disc slots let you choose the main stat?
Only slots IV, V and VI. Slots I, II and III are locked to flat HP, flat ATK and flat DEF respectively, so you can't change them; to shape a build you farm slots IV-V-VI for the main stat you want.
How many substats can a Drive Disc have?
Up to 4 substats. An S-rank disc starts with 3 or 4 lines; if it has fewer than 4, the first enhancement adds a new line, and once at 4 each enhancement upgrades an existing line instead.
How much CRIT Rate does one substat roll give?
On an S-rank disc, each CRIT Rate roll gives about 2.4%. If a single CRIT Rate substat lands all 6 rolls (1 base + 5 enhancements), it can total roughly 14.4% — rare but extremely strong.
