Foggy Forest PathAlong the Foggy Forest Path, stands a shining tree and a mysterious altar where you can find a teardrop key. When the Traveler and Paimon solved the riddle of the altar and returned three drops of clear dew to the tree, they met the "wild fairy" Pahsiv, who wanted to protect her home, Erinnyes. If you collect all foggy forest branches in Erinnyes Forest, they can be given to Pahsiv. On the coast of Erinnyes, south of the Foggy Forest, there is a ship converted into The Rusty Rudder tavern. There is a cannon on the ship, which can be accessed by the tavern waitress if a few riddles are solved. Shooting the cannon reveals an underground tunnel hidden behind the stones. The tavern's helmsman and boss is Pitot. Mysterious Xenochromatic Crystals, large crystals obtained by defeating the extremely powerful Fontemer Aberrants in Morte Region, can be exchanged with Pitot for Mora. Pitot "ruled" many people’s lives once and often changed their course. For those who volunteered to dive into the depths of the ocean, Mr. Pitot was the only helmsman they could rely on. Their helmsman protects everyone who works at The Rusty Rudder. Pitot is also a certified player and, as the boss, he is directly involved in interacting with guests and helping them pick their drinks. He's more than down for playing all sorts of games, including Genius Invokation TCG. He has sharpened his card skills a great deal. A tavern boss who loses to guests might be called upon pour some put on the house, after all. The tavern's regular is a drunkard, Covault. He once worked for the Lumidouce Harbor Watcher, Chaussivert, but betrayed his boss and began collaborating with a gentleman from Snezhnaya and former Fontaine Research Institute researcher, Nacker, who stole the Arkhium Kinetic Core from the institute. There are also two more certified players in the tavern: Lasselin and Choneaux. Lasselin is Chief Mate of The Rusty Rudder. It seems that she has played quite a few games with guests and can execute offensives with absolute calm. That said, card games seem to just be a lead-in, with the conversation eventually being steered towards "good wine." Choneaux is a reporter who is always looking for that exclusive scoop. Such new isn't that easy to come by, so he makes his own — for example, by covering duels between extraordinary card players. Although most readers haven't the slightest inkling about the players he mentions, those pieces earn enough to pay for both his expenditures and alcohol. To the north of the ship, there was the hideout of Edwin Eastinghouse, a researcher from the Fontaine Research Institute, who was presumed dead after the explosion of the Institute's Central Laboratory, in which Eastinghouse himself was suspected. When Nacker stole the kinetic core, the Institute hired a special investigator named Fusilier. Her main task was to return the Arkhium Kinetic Core as soon as possible since it was an extremely unstable prototype. During the investigation, Fusilier discovered Eastinghouse's house, as it was emitting clear indicators of residual energy around it. Edwin Eastinghouse deliberately led the investigation to Nacker and urged him to return to the institute and confess to his crimes. Edwin wanted to return to his research and claimed that he was not present when the core exploded. Since Eastinghouse harmed the institute, he was imprisoned in the Fortress of Meropide along with Nacker. Not far from The Rusty Rudder, there was a shelter for Kevin and his mother, Madeleine, who had left the Fatui. When Sir Arthur was kidnapped near The Steambird newspaper building, Kevin was one of the main suspects in the case, as he was seen with a knife near the building. The boy himself turned out to be innocent, but his father Baulande (Baulard) was involved in the kidnapping of the pelican. When the case was solved, Baulande was reunited with his family, and they left the shelter. To the east of the tavern, there was Freminet's temporary camp, where he created a mechanical penguin Thelxie for the art dealer Zuria Destree. To the north of the camp, next to a weeping willow, was Zuria's own home, where she moved from the Court of Fontaine. There were notes in the temporary camp about adding a language output module to Thelxie. Freminet chose the encrypted code from the House of the Hearth since there were several unused main boards in the shelter warehouse and this language was well suited for the translation module of Freminet's own diving suit. Work on the translation module took longer than expected, so Thelxie's speech could only be deciphered using the suit's helmet. To the west of the Foggy Forest lived a girl named Penny with her poodle Nana and her cat Don Quijano. Penny's parents, Parker and Barrow, left their daughter in the care of their friend Rouge while they went on a trip. The girl got the dog from Autumn when she went to the Fortress of Meropide for the murder of her second husband. Nana once lived in the Court of Fontaine and appeared in a new outfit and accessories before bed, during every meal, at tea parties, dances, walks, and dates. And Don Quijano, according to Penny, was wanted by the Maison of Gardiennage. Several years ago, he, Rouge, and the blind Freeman, who can be found at The Rusty Rudder, went on a journey, but they were followed by mercenaries. When they ran out of supplies, Don Quijano rushed at his pursuers, not sparing himself, and defeated three of them. Penny found herself at a crossroads: she didn't know whether to start growing up or remain a child. She even made a list of the pros and cons of growing up, but she still couldn't decide. Thanks to the help of the Traveler and Paimon, Penny decided to take up the Adventurers' Guild's training as an adventurer to explore the world, and the Traveler wrote her a letter of recommendation to the Guild as a gift for growing up.Near Penny's camp was the hideout of Rocher, another suspect in the kidnapping of Sir Arthur. Rocher is the husband of Melo Lombroso, the granddaughter of the famous researcher who created the intelligent lie detector. Rocher lost his family's money by getting involved with a pyramid scheme run by the Elegant Tableware Confrerie, so he went into hiding from the organization to avoid paying his debts. Like Kevin, Rocher turned out to be innocent of the crime, and after solving the case, he was reunited with his wife, whom he was afraid to turn to for help.In this subarea, World Quests and can be found.Related Entries:Weeping Willow of the LakeA giant weeping willow connects the waterways of the Erinnyes, but corruption infected its roots. The willow branches have dried up, the foliage has turned yellow, and the water in the lake has become bitter. When Pahsiv and the Traveler cleaned the roots of the willow from filth, the water in the lake was cleared, and the tree took on its former appearance. In the water under the willow, there is an altar with a teardrop key, which is necessary to cleanse the filth of the Erinnyes. The underwater cave containing the roots of the weeping willow is named Hauteclaire. This was the name of the famous scepter of the Knight of the Lakelight, Erinnyes. There is a legend that when thefell, the Knight of the Lakelight met the merciful Mistress of Many Waters, Egeria. Erinnyes thanked the Mistress of Many Waters for showing her the Pure Grail and for allowing her to complete this journey. She promised that the survived Lochknights would continue to loyally serve Egeria and her future kingdom, following that noble musician, and that they would pursue the lingering shadows, restoring justice. The knight with sea-colored eyes confessed her sins and asked to comfort her soul in expulsion and exile. When the knight finished her speech, she drew her shining sword. A beam of watery light shone from it and lit the valley.Legend has it that Daeira, a maiden by the lake, gifted the sword to Erinnyes so she could perform countless deeds. Many conflicts settled in peace by its blade, and the ravages of war laid to rest in these lands. It had drunk the crimson blood of the unrighteous, and oathbreakers and the unjust have fallen like flakes of snow to the ground before Hauteclaire's purity. Its golden hilt was inlaid in jewels, and only people with pure souls were worthy of it. Erinnyes believed that one day there would be a noble person, who would lift the sword again, and they would do deeds greater than Erinnyes's.The Knight of Lakelight had thrown her sword into the waters of the lake three times, and only the third time the water did not carry it to the shore. The waters closed over him, and the sword sank to the bottom. The Queen of All Waters was moved by that plaintive plea and granted her wish. Egeria gave her a flower as pure as Lakelight to the last Lochknight as a farewell gift. To this day, Fontaine maintains the tradition of picking a Lily and giving it to those on long journeys, wishing one another a road ahead as tranquil as pure water, and that those most precious will be able to follow its cool light, returning to their side. Lakelight lilies grow in Erinnyes, where the Lochknights met the Mistress of Many Waters. To the east of the weeping willow, the Traveler and Paimon met Penny's friend, Rouge. He and his assistants planned to deal with the Treasure Hoarders to give out their wealth to those who fell into the swamp and could not get out, only because their situation was difficult to overcome on their own. Rouge united people who believed in justice, equality, and hoped to serve people suffering from poverty and hardship. Together they formed the Rainbow Rose Ideals, which included Liam, Rocky Avildsen, Athos, Autumn, Parker, Barrow, Freeman, and Rouge himself."The world is full of inequity, poverty, and greed. And until the day all this is wiped away, they will roam their beloved land, Fontaine."In this subarea, World Quests and can be found.Related Entries:Loch UraniaWhen the filth poisoned the Erinnyes Forest, the water in Loch Urania also became polluted. A strong wind arose around the lake, through which it was impossible to pass. When Pahsiv and the Traveler cleared the roots of the weeping willow and rid the forest of filth, the wind died down. After saving the forest, Pahsiv settled in a cave near Loch Urania, where tidalgas could be exchanged for various goods from her. When the lake was cleared, Pahsiv's friends, Bathysmal Vishaps, began to appear next to it.In this subarea, the World Quest can be found.Related Entries:Lumidouce HarborLumidouce Harbor is one of the Court of Fontaine's most vital foreign trading ports and an international port on the border of Fontaine and Liyue, through which most of the transactions with southern partners pass. One of the main destinations from Lumidouce Harbor is Yilong Wharf in Liyue. The former port manager, Doutey, planned to expand the harbor to better cope with the enormous volume of trade. The intent was not only to increase the harbor's size, but also to construct numerous auxiliary facilities such as hotels, restaurants, and taverns, but for unknown reasons, the project was postponed, and Doutey resigned. Currently, Cassigneul is the administrator of the harbor. Her previous job was related to harbor management-related matters, but this is her first time in an official managerial role, and it is not easy for her due to the huge volume of cargo turnover. Since the port expansion project has never been implemented, some workers are considering finding work in the city or going to work at Romaritime Harbor on the border with Sumeru.Recently, Lumidouce Harbor has been experiencing a crisis: cargo turnover is growing, the number of Fontaine ships in the port is decreasing, hydrological studies of the harbor have not been carried out for a long time, hydrological maps have long been out of date, and port workers are almost not paid. Conditions in the port and the surrounding waters are extremely difficult: shallows alternate with rifts, and sometimes there are even reefs. All merchant ships entering or leaving the sea need a navigator on board to guide them through a fast and safe route. Due to the difficulties that arose in Lumidouce Harbor, many navigators quit, and the remaining ones were exhausted to the limit and made mistakes. The underwater environment can sometimes shift: currents could cause a sunken ship to drift over and end up blocking one route, while the same currents might simultaneously open up another route that was previously impassable. For ease of navigation, the port periodically hired specialists who carried out hydrological surveys. All received data was entered into the map, and then the updated charts were distributed to all the navigators. Hydrological surveys have not been carried out recently, and navigators rely only on their experience and outdated maps. Ms. Cassigneul is planning on conducting another comprehensive hydrological survey, but it will take a long time.A researcher from the Fontaine Research Institute, Hautemontagne, once worked in Lumidouce Harbor. She was working on a project to extend the aquabus lines to the port, but the project was suspended, and Cassigneul sent Hautemontagne to Chenyu Vale. The head of Spina di Rosula, Navia, is planning to resume the project and build a fourth aquabus line to the port. The self-proclaimed harbor-watcher is Chaussivert. One day, Concini of Snezhnaya hired several people from the port, including Chaussivert's team, to transport a researcher Nacker, and the kinetic core he had stolen from the Fontaine Research Institute. One of Concini's men wanted to hire Chaussivert, but he refused and was attacked for that. When a special investigator from the institute, Fusilier, arrived at Lumidouce Harbor looking for Nacker, at first she suspected Chaussivert of involvement in the disappearance of the Arkhium Kinetic Core. Since the core was unstable and could explode at any time, Chaussivert agreed to help Fusilier and the Traveler in finding Nacker. When Nacker was captured and sent to the Fortress of Meropide, a note was left at the port stating that all materials and equipment associated with the Arkhium Kinetic Core were to be destroyed. An unlucky treasure hunter, Urville, works at the port. Many years ago, a Melusine (possibly Nadia) saved him from ball octopuses, and he wanted to grow up and help people. After a while, he saved Melusine Nadia with amnesia caused by a traumatic brain injury and wanted to cure her. At first, he planned to find the treasures of the Liliacruces Forum and get rich, but his idea turned out to be a failure. Now Urville is training hard to become a sailor and earn money for Nadia's treatment. One day, Lumidouce Harbor was the center of an investigation into the smuggling of Imitation Sinthe, a new drug that had appeared in Fontaine. Criminals transported drugs across the border in the stomachs of cats, which the "Humane Society" sent to other countries, so no one could detect them. A Garde Elodie, in charge of port security, directed the investigation to the trail of Pierre from the Research Institute and Bernard from the "Humane Society." In fact, she was the main criminal in this case, and Pierre and Bernard did not even suspect that someone else was involved in the case. Elodie switched shifts at the port to coincide with the activities of the "Humane Society," organized the log entries so that anyone reading would immediately suspect the organization, and did not include records of her activities. Thanks to the help of famous illusionists, Lyney and Lynette, as well as the captain of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol, Chevreuse, Elodie was caught. Two certified players can be found in this subarea, Mermet and Chourei. Mermet is a Navigator at Lumidouce Harbor. Because her job is inextricably linked to the rate at which vessels come and go from the harbor, she often has a smattering of half-hour leisure slots scattered throughout the day, which she has used to learn Genius Invokation TCG. She often tests herself against inbound sailors. Chourei is a Melusine and a member of the Maison Gardiennage stationed at Lumidouce Harbor. She is in charge of keeping order there — a task that her gentler personality sometimes makes tricky. Fortunately, after being told as much by the port master, she found that Genius Invokation TCG was a good way to get two parties to sit down at a table to talk. Watching all these matches has also helped make her a qualified player herself. In this subarea, the World Quest can be found.

Lore

Thelxie's Fantastic AdventuresIn Fontaine, there is a legend about a scary underwater creature called Thelxie. It lives in an underwater cave surrounded by pallid bones and uses its sensitive nose to track down lonely children who've lost their way. And once it finds a child, it uses its alluring singing voice to lure them into the water before swallowing them whole. One day, a diver named Freminet received an order from Zuria Destree, whose son Lescot suffered from Loneliness Syndrome. Loneliness Syndrome is a type of mental disorder that causes people suffering from it to often feel extremely lonely and lose interest in many mundane activities. It is said that there are many factors surrounding the development of this illness: from heredity factors and one's state of mind to environmental factors and even Ley Line disorder effects. Some even say it could be caused by contamination from god’s remains. Zuria's son developed uncontrollable delusions, and he could no longer distinguish fantasy from reality. The woman asked Freminet to create a clockwork penguin, Thelxie, from her son's dreams so that he could return to reality. Leskot believed that the creature from the legend did not want to kidnap children but sang out of loneliness and longing for communication."Countless lovely Water Imps lived in houses made of rainbow shells and corals, tending to sea animals during the day and singing between fields of golden tidalga during the night.Everyone led carefree and blessed lives until the Day of the Iridescence Parade, the important festival during which the new king would be crowned...And during the day of the parade, the prince would cross a rainbow bridge made from all the offered shells, and accept the crown from his father amid the applause of his subjects. Finally, the new king would bless everyone with his well wishes. And as for the prince's name — it's none other than Thelxie. The monsters were evil and cruel, and they struck fear into all the Water Imps' hearts. The Water Imps, adept at singing as they were, could not defend themselves against the monsters. So the kingdom fell, the king was killed, and the Water Imps were locked behind bars. The rainbow bridge lost its color and crumbled away. The prince was barely able to escape with the help of a mysterious masked individual, but he had already lost everything, and could only spend his days singing mournful songs. And just as the prince sang out of loneliness, so could his song only be heard by similarly lonely children."Due to the Loneliness Syndrome, Leskot began to believe that he was Prince Thelxie, so his mother decided to draw a picture book about this imaginary world to improve his condition. They had once started a book together, but the disorder progressed too quickly, and the boy was unable to draw more than the first page. Zuria wanted to finish the book but change the ending so that the Water Imp prince and his friends could eventually restore their kingdom. She hoped to dispel the loneliness and sadness of her son so that he could see a world full of hope again.Although Freminet was prepared for Zuria's idea to fail, he really wanted to help her and her son. At the House of the Hearth, where he grew up, under the previous director, he saw many cases of Loneliness Syndrome. There were not many positive outcomes, and in the worst cases, patients would die. He was able to feel the fantasies of his son Zuria since in the past he also had his own imaginary fairy-tale world, from which he drew moral support and inspiration. His world was Penguin Town, a peaceful place with lots of penguin residents, and they were all really good at making clockwork toys. Penguin Pers, created by Freminet, was the hero of these fantasies and became a friend of Freminet, who always supported him. Thanks to the help of the Traveler and Paimon, Freminet was able to make a weapon with a shield for Thelxie and integrate testing on Thelxie's motherboard so that the penguin could function correctly. Together with Zuria and Thelxie, they went to the ruins in the Salacia Plain to recreate the fantasies of Zuria's son for the book. They took the story of Thelxie as a reference, but made it less dark. Now the Prince held in his hands the sword of courage and the shield of perseverance, which proves he has crossed the mire of doubt and is now ready to wage war against the darkness. In addition, Thelxie made friends, and the road ahead of him was bursting with color and hope. After overcoming many obstacles, Prince Thelxie and his brave companions finally arrived at the entrance to the Kingdom of Water Imps. At this time, the little fairy in the group, Paimon, revealed her true Goddess form to her companions. She praised the companions for their purity, and to reward them, she bestowed upon them many blessings, and even prayed that the Prince would be able to fulfill his goal. Bathed under the Goddess's glory, the Prince and his companions charged into the bastion of evil, chased away the monsters, and rescued the pretty Water Imps from their imprisonment. The Prince finally managed to reclaim his kingdom, but he couldn’t get the crown. It was within the Prince's reach, but the monsters took it with them as they fled. They haven't given up and are sure to return, but the prince is certain to reclaim the crown the next time they fight. The brilliant rainbow shall descend onto the kingdom once more. When the crown for the coronation ceremony was ready, Freminet, the Traveler, and Paimon went to the house of Zuria Destree, since they could not find it. Family doctor Jalacan said that Leskot Destree suffered from Loneliness Syndrome once. A month before Freminet met Madame Destree, Lescot went in search of a Water Imp, tied a bunch of heavy seashells onto his body, and walked into this open stretch of water, never coming back. At this time, Zuria was organizing an art exhibition, which she had prepared especially for her son, so she was not around. Plunging into regret, Madame Destree fell ill with the same disease and began to believe that her son was alive. Zuria no longer remembered the boy's real name and believed that her son's name was Thelxie, and he was the prince of the Water Imp kingdom. When Freminet created Thelxie, Zuria's condition seemed to improve, but all night before the coronation, she stared at the seashell her son left behind and the words he wrote on it. Since the last days were beneficial for the woman, the Traveler, Paimon, and Freminet decided to complete the journey and show her that her child had found happiness in the world of her dreams. In the last chapter of the adventure, Thelxie and his friends were able to drive off the final invading monsters and achieve a dashing victory. They achieved success, and the recovered crown was resplendent. The Water Imps, finally returning to their homes, showered the Prince with love and applause as he greeted them. They once again offered their precious shells to the Prince and reconstructed the rainbow bridge of old. As he watched the scene unfold, the Prince could not help but be touched by its beauty. Moved by everyone's happiness, the Prince stepped onto the rainbow bridge and took a good look at all the friends who had gone on the journey with him. There stood the Traveler, Goddess Paimon, Freminet, and a woman. She walked towards him with a smile and slowly lifted her veil. The prince could not hold back his tears. He recognized, then, that the mysterious person who had been by his side the whole time was none other than his mother. Zuria walked across the bridge and placed the crown above the prince's head. She smiled down upon him as she said, "My prince — my king — you shall never, ever need to feel lonely again."When the story was finished, Zuria saw her son in the mechanical penguin." — I am so sorry, my child, Maman should have spent more time with you... Did you hear the story? You'll never have to feel lonely again…""-.-..-...- -....--- -...-. -. -... -. -... — (I love you, Maman!)Maman, I'm getting a little sleepy... If it's time for bed, can you hum a lullaby to me again?""— Of course, my dearest child... As long as you want to hear it, Maman will always hum for you.""— Thank you, Maman! Your lullaby has always been my favorite. Now that I've heard it, I can return to my dream, and to the Kingdom of Water Imps in peace.""— Ah, my poor darling... Please don't forget, I will always love you. My love is... greater than the entire distance between here and the Kingdom of Water Imps.""— I won't forget, Maman... And so is my love for you. Greater than the entire distance between here and the Kingdom of Water Imps."After saying goodbye to her son, Zuria began to feel better. She decided to continue art exhibitions and share some picture books related to Loneliness Syndrome with her doctor. Madame Destree wanted her own experience to help others, so the exhibition included a book about Thelxie's Fantastic Adventures and guidance therapy. The woman said that at the moment when she placed the crown on Thelxie's head, she felt like she really saw something beautiful. Her child had returned, and he told her that he loved her. According to her, that was when she was finally able to bid farewell to her son. She felt like, at that moment, she was healed by some mystical power, and she was filled with courage from head to toe.Related Entries:Wild Fairy of ErinnyesThe protector of the Erinnyes Forest is an evolved Vishap who ended up in Fontaine. Although she looks like a Melusine, she has never been to Merusea Village, nor the Court of Fontaine, and can take the form of a Primordial Bathysmal Vishap. One day, she met a— the Hydro Dragon who was born in a human form as the Byakuyakoku prophet foretold. He taught her a human language and entrusted her to protect the island. She learned to say "Melusine" as "no," and "Pahsiv" as "yes," so Paimon named her Pahsiv, which is "Vishap" backwards. All of Erinnyes is the information system of the Hydro Dragon, through which he can sense changes in the water veins. The weeping willow near the lake collected information, the fog processed it, and the Loch Urania spring sent it. When the filth began to destroy the roots of the weeping willow connecting the water veins, Pahsiv turned for help to the Traveler and Paimon, who were passing by. If the willow roots were destroyed by the Root-Consuming Tumor, the information system would fail to function, and Neuvillette's senses would be affected. To save the weeping willow, Pahsiv, the Traveler, and Paimon sought three teardrop keys that opened a secret passage in the roots of the Erinnyes. To obtain the key on the foggy path in the south of the island, they returned three drops of pure dew to the glowing tree. The key near the willow on the east of the island was hidden near an altar underwater, trapped by seaweed. When Pahsiv, the Traveler, and Paimon went to retrieve the third key from a spring in the north, they encountered a Bathysmal Vishap near an activated altar. Taking the Vishap for a threat, the Traveler and Paimon attempted to defend Pahsiv, but she merely patted the Vishap on the head, explaining that the filth had wounded it. Calmed, the Vishap spat out the last key, which it continued to protect even after being wounded.Once all the keys were collected, Pahsiv, the Traveler, and Paimon went to the square near the Marcotte station, where a fountain with lion sculptures stood. A secret passage beneath this fountain, opened with three keys, led to the heart of the Erinnyes. To help the Traveler cleanse the weeping willow of its taint, Pahsiv shared some of her power with them, enhancing their abilities. During the battle with the filth, Rifthounds suddenly appeared from a magic circle on the ground. Taking the form of a Vishap, Pahsiv helped defeat the Rifthounds, and the tree's roots were completely cleansed. After saving the Erinnyes Forest, Pahsiv, in gratitude, found treasure chests for Paimon and the Traveler, who, in return, promised to visit her, feed her Tidalga, teach her the language, and show her how to say goodbye properly.
