Craghowler
Craghowlers are the dominant members of rockhowler communities. These beasts will fight each other countless times before the strongest champion emerges as the leading craghowler....
Craghowler is a Boss enemy of the Wildlife family in Arknights: Endfield. You will run into it in Sword Vault Dale. Spawns a pillar and immediately smashes it, after which water spouts appear on the field: a fast one homes in on the active Operator before exploding, and a slow one lasts longer and damages plus knocks back every Operator it hits. Keep moving away from the fast spout and never stand in the slow one's path.
Class & elemental resistance
Lower grade (D, E) = takes more damage from that element. Bring operators of its weakest element.
Where it appears
How Craghowler attacks — and how to dodge
- Pillar Smash into Water Spouts — Spawns a pillar and immediately smashes it, after which water spouts appear on the field: a fast one homes in on the active Operator before exploding, and a slow one lasts longer and damages plus knocks back every Operator it hits. Keep moving away from the fast spout and never stand in the slow one's path.
- Triple Pillar Strike — Whips pillars up out of the ground with its tail three times in a row. Dodge sideways out of the straight line, and wait for all three hits before counterattacking.
- Pillar Slam — Slams a pillar into the ground: once in its normal state, but five times in a row once enraged. Do not punish early after the first slam while it is enraged.
- Roar (unavoidable tell) — The roar cannot be perfect-dodged, but it is always followed by a guaranteed Pillar Slam. Use the roar as a read: reposition during it and pre-dodge the incoming slam.
- Enrage phase (below ~40% HP) — After losing about 40% of its HP its eyes glow red and it enrages permanently until killed, dropping rocks randomly across the arena and breaking ruins. Keep circling; never stand still in one spot during this phase.
How to beat Craghowler
Not a story chapter — fought inside a Protocol Space (Crisis Fragment) once it's unlocked
Full fight
- Craghowler is the strongest individual to come out of a rockhowler pack — expect a straight step up in pressure from a normal Rockhowler fight, not a brand-new pattern.
- It's only fought inside a dedicated Protocol Space (Crisis Fragment), not out in the open world — you have to enter that space to challenge it.
- Clearing each difficulty tier gives one-time rewards (Oroberyls, T-Creds, promotion materials) — worth clearing every tier once instead of only farming the top one.
