How Engraving works

The Engraving feature unlocks through Yulia's quest chain in Act 1 of the main story — finish that chain and the Engrave button appears on the equipment screen.

Materials you need

Engraving consumes four separate armour pieces plus an Engraving Seal and returns a single one-piece outfit that fills all four armour slots at once. Seals come from clearing the Leonus or Hell dungeon; most recipes also need one extra material on top. All 85 engraving recipes in the game data follow this same shape.

Seal drop rate: Hell vs Nightmare

Running Hell gives roughly a 30% Seal drop chance but is capped by a 5-minute timer per run; running Nightmare drops at a lower rate (around 10%) but has no time limit, which suits long grinding sessions without watching the clock.

The reroll trap

This is where most players lose progress: when you reroll an engraved piece, the passive skill's LEVEL does NOT carry over — only the 3 substats are kept. So before rerolling, lock in the right priority: a Lv.3 passive matters most, a strong substat roll comes next, and overall gear score should be the last thing you weigh — don't chase a higher score if it risks losing your passive level.

Frequently asked questions

How many pieces do I need for the bonus?

Each set publishes its own thresholds, and they are listed on this page — a set bonus does nothing until you cross the first one, so half a set is usually worse than a complete weaker set.

Can I mix two sets?

Yes, if both reach their first threshold with the pieces you have. Compare the two partial bonuses against one full bonus using the numbers on each set page rather than assuming the bigger set always wins.
