ZZZ Reroll Guide — Is It Worth It & the Fastest Method | Zenless Zone Zero

Unlike many gacha games, rerolling in ZZZ is high effort for low reward. Three reasons:

• You can't reroll for a limited character. A fresh account only has enough resources for the standard Star-Studded Cast banner, where the S-Rank is random from a fairly large pool — you can't pick who you get.
• You're already guaranteed an S-Rank. Just by playing, the standard banner guarantees one S-Rank Agent within 50 pulls. So nearly everyone gets a first S-Rank whether they reroll or not.
• The time cost is high. Each reroll takes roughly 30-40 minutes and needs a brand-new email (ZZZ has no guest accounts).

So the general advice is simple: don't reroll — make your main account, take the guaranteed S-Rank, and save your resources for the limited character you actually want.

Three barriers make ZZZ rerolling painful:

• No guest accounts. The only way to reroll is to make a new HoYoverse account with a new email each time. You'll need a stack of email addresses ready.
• Gacha unlocks fairly late. You must play through the opening for about 20-30 minutes before the Signal Search (gacha) feature unlocks.
• Lots of dialogue and cutscenes. Altogether, one full reroll loop takes around 30-40 minutes.

In other words, an evening of rerolling only nets you a handful of attempts — for a reward (a random S-Rank Agent) that you'd get by simply playing anyway.

The moment gacha unlocks, you'll have 20 Master Tapes to pull the standard banner — mostly from pre-registration rewards and your mailbox. Play a little more to level up (around Inter-Knot Level 8) and you'll gather more; per community guides, a fresh account can bank roughly 70-80 pulls total (the exact number shifts with whatever event rewards are live).

Key detail: new players get a 20% discount on their first 50 pulls on the standard banner. Pulling in 10-packs, that means only 40 Master Tapes instead of 50 to guarantee your first S-Rank. The base S-Rank rate is 0.6% per pull.

The Star-Studded Cast standard banner has a very newcomer-friendly rule: you're guaranteed an S-Rank Agent within 50 pulls. But that Agent is drawn randomly from the standard S-Rank pool — you don't get to choose. So even rerolling can't target a specific Agent; it just re-rolls the lottery from scratch.

If luck favors you, standard Agents worth having early include Rina (versatile support), Grace (Electric Anomaly), and Soldier 11 (strong Fire DPS). If you're set on it, run this sequence to trim each loop:

1. Prepare several emails in advance. With no guest accounts, each loop needs a fresh email + HoYoverse account.
2. Skip every dialogue and cutscene you can to rush the gacha unlock (about 20-30 minutes).
3. Open your mailbox and claim everything (pre-registration and level rewards) to gather your Master Tapes.
4. Pull the Star-Studded Cast standard banner in 10-packs. Your starting 20 Master Tapes give 20 pulls; grind to Level 8 for more to approach the 50-pull guarantee.
5. Happy? Log in and keep the account. Not happy? Swap emails and start over.

Tip: only reroll if you desperately want one specific standard S-Rank. If you just want a good start, the 50-pull guarantee already covers that.

For the vast majority of players, the most efficient path is:

• Make your main account right away and play to the guarantee for your first S-Rank Agent.
• Save your resources (Polychrome / Encrypted Master Tapes) for the limited banner of the Agent you truly want — pity never resets when banners change.
