Ranked Match in Pokémon TCG Pocket
5 rank tiers, how points work, and end-of-season rewards — compiled from independent community sources.
Ranked Match is Pokémon TCG Pocket's competitive ladder: you battle players of similar skill, winning earns points that move you up in rank, and losing can cost points depending on your current tier. When a Ranked Match season ends, you receive an Emblem matching the rank you reached.
The 5 rank tiers
Ranked Match has 5 main tiers, from lowest to highest. The first four tiers are each split into 4 sub-ranks; Master Ball Rank has no sub-ranks and instead places you by points against every other player.
How points work
Winning a ranked match always earns points; stringing wins together also earns a streak bonus on top.
| Win streak | Bonus points |
|---|---|
| 2 wins in a row | +3 |
| 3 wins in a row | +6 |
| 4 wins in a row | +9 |
| 5 wins in a row | +12 |
- In Beginner Rank, you don't lose points when you lose — this tier is designed to protect new players, so every battle is a chance to move up.
- In Master Ball Rank, losing does cost points, and your placement is based on your points relative to the highest-scoring players.
The exact points gained or lost at each tier can change between seasons as the developer rebalances things — this page describes the stable mechanic, not one specific season's numbers.
End-of-season rewards
When a Ranked Match season ends, you receive an Emblem matching the rank you reached — the higher the rank, the more distinctive the Emblem. This is a Ranked-specific Emblem, different from the Emblems awarded by Emblem Events (a separate multiplayer event type, see below).
Season cadence
Each Ranked Match season is usually tied to a newly released card set — the set currently active is B4 (Team Rocket’s Ambition). A new ranked season typically begins alongside a new set.
When a season ends, part of your rank carries over into the next season under the developer's rank-carryover rules — not everyone restarts from zero.
