Moonsign
OverviewCertain characters have a unique passive ability that states: "When this character is in the party, the party's Moonsign will increase by 1 level." These are known as Moonsign characters. If there is 1 Moonsign character in the party, "New Moon's Embrace: Nascent Gleam" will be active. If there are 2 or more Moonsign characters, "New Moon's Embrace: Ascendant Gleam" will be active.New Moon's EmbraceEffectNascent GleamAll characters in the party will gain the "Moonsign: Nascent Gleam" effect.Ascendant GleamAll characters in the party will gain the "Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam" effect, enhancing certain Talents and Skills of Moonsign characters. Unless otherwise stated, when Moonsign Level reaches Ascendant Gleam, the effects of Nascent Gleam will also apply. In addition, for 20s after a non-Moonsign character casts an Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst, they will increase the Lunar Reaction DMG dealt by all nearby characters based on their own Elemental Type, up to a maximum of 36%. This effect cannot stack. If the character's Elemental Type is:· Pyro, Electro, or Cryo: Increases this DMG by 0.9% for every 100 ATK.· Hydro: Increases this DMG by 0.6% for every 1,000 Max HP.· Geo: Increases this DMG by 1% for every 100 DEF.· Anemo or Dendro: Increases this DMG by 2.25% for every 100 Elemental Mastery.Additionally, after completing the Selenic Chronicles weekly quest in Silvermoon Hall, players will obtain the Moon Maiden’s Blessing: New Moon’s Embrace, thanks to which your party gains a temporary "Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam" effect in Nod-Krai.Unlike Elemental Resonance, the Moonsign interface in Party Setup only appears when at least one Moonsign character is present. This is also the only requirement for the effect to remain active, meaning the party can consist of just a single character. If the selected party in Party Setup activates a New Moon's Embrace not previously active, a notification will appear reading "Moonsign Shift: Nascent/Ascendant Gleam", both in the team setup screen and upon returning to the open world.Non-Moonsign characters contributionFor 20s after a non-Moonsign character casts an Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst, they will increase the Lunar Reaction DMG dealt by all nearby characters based on their own Elemental Type, up to a maximum of 36%. This effect cannot stack. If the character's Elemental Type is:· Pyro, Electro, or Cryo: Increases this DMG by 0.9% for every 100 ATK.· Hydro: Increases this DMG by 0.6% for every 1,000 Max HP.· Geo: Increases this DMG by 1% for every 100 DEF.· Anemo or Dendro: Increases this DMG by 2.25% for every 100 Elemental Mastery. In terms of damage calculation, this DMG buff is not a separate final multiplier like CRIT DMG. Instead, it is a Lunar Reaction Bonus that adds to the Elemental Mastery Bonus. In the example image, Chiori's DEF is 2710, and after using her Elemental Skill, the Lunar-Charged DMG increases by 12.6%, not by 27%, which would happen if it were a standalone multiplier. The 20s timer indicates expiration but refreshes independently with every Elemental Skill or Burst activation. This DMG buff shares a single counter for all non-Moonsign characters. For example, if a Geo character with 2000 DEF uses their Skill or Burst and then another Geo character with 1000 DEF does the same, the DMG buff will immediately drop from 20% to 10%. Furthermore, this buff is dynamic, meaning it doesn't snapshot the character's stats upon activation—it will increase or decrease as the relevant stat does. In the image example, Chiori (2710 DEF) uses her Skill first, and then Tartaglia (16,000 Max HP) uses his, causing the DMG buff to shift from 27% to 16%, reducing the Lunar-Charged DMG accordingly.Note that the percentage shown is indicative, as each point of the relevant stat affects the DMG buff regardless of whether it reaches a breakpoint or not. In the image example, Sucrose, without reaching 900 EM, increased her EM from 808 to 896, resulting in a minor, but visible damage increase.
