Memory Fragments Guide (Gear, Sub-stats & Sets)
How CZN's Memory Fragment gear works: six slots, main vs sub-stats, 2- and 4-piece set bonuses, and where to farm them (Simulation Lv25, Crafting Lv40).
Memory Fragments are Chaos Zero Nightmare's equippable gear — the main way to push a combatant's stats once your team is built. This guide covers the slots, stats, sets and farming.
The six slots
| Property | Detail |
|---|---|
| Slots per combatant | 6 |
| Main stats per fragment | 1 |
| Max sub-stats | 4 |
| Set matching | 2-piece & 4-piece bonuses |
Main stat vs sub-stats
| Main stat | Sub-stats | |
|---|---|---|
| Count | 1 | up to 4 |
| Set on drop? | Fixed when it drops | Rolled randomly |
| On enhance | Grows with level | Added / upgraded randomly, cannot be re-chosen |
| Rule | — | Never duplicates the main stat's type |
Exact sub-stat ranges for every rarity are published on the Memory Fragment Scorer — this guide covers the system.
Set bonuses
All 19 confirmed 2-piece and 4-piece set bonuses, cross-checked between two community sources (hub-czn and prydwen.gg):

| 2 | 2-piece: a flat +12% boost to Attack. | |
| 2 | 2-piece: Basic cards deal 20% more damage. | |
| 2 | 2-piece: a flat +25% boost to Crit Damage. | |
| 4 | 4-piece: once you've played 4 or more cards, Instinct damage rises 20%. | |

| Wireth's Steel | 4 | 2-piece: a flat +20% boost to Defense. 4-piece: Counterattack damage rises 50%. |
| 4 | 4-piece: Void cards that hit 2 or more times deal 30% more damage. | |
| 4 | 4-piece: Instinct damage against Ravaged enemies rises 50%. | |
| 4 | 4-piece: Justice and Order Attack cards deal 30% more damage, capped at 5 stacks per turn. | |
| 4 | 4-piece: creating or using an Exhaust Skill card adds +5% ally damage, up to +15%. | |
| 4 | 4-piece: discarding a Passion or Void Attack card grants +15% Crit Chance for 1 turn (caps at 15%). | |
| 4 | 4-piece: gaining Shield from an ability adds +5% ally Counterattack/Extra Attack damage, up to +25%. |
Mixing a 2-piece with another 2-piece, or committing to a full 4-piece, is the core of end-game tuning.
Where to farm
| Source | How it works |
|---|---|
| Simulation: Memory Fragments | Unlocks at Captain Level 25; 60 Aether per run; difficulty 1–10 |
| Crafting | Unlocks at Level 40; scrap 10 fragments for an exact piece/set, or 5 for a random one |
| Legendary (from Difficulty 5) | Drops with 3 sub-stats; enhance to +5 to unlock the 4th |
Higher difficulty means better fragments, so raise your team via the Combatants and tier list before farming hard.
FAQ
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Can I re-roll a bad sub-stat? | No — sub-stats are locked once rolled, so keep fragments with two or more useful lines. |
| 2-piece + 2-piece or a full 4-piece? | Both are valid; the 4-piece gives the bigger single bonus, two 2-pieces give flexibility. |
| When should I start farming gear? | Once Simulation opens at Level 25 — before that, story progress rewards more. |
