Banner Mechanics & Rates
NIKKE uses a pull-based gacha system to recruit Commanders. On the standard banner (Ordinary Recruit), the SSR rate is 4% per pull. When a limited banner features a rate-up character (pickup), the SSR rate for that pickup unit is 2% — meaning half of all SSR pulls on that banner will land on the featured character.
Special banner types such as Pilgrim or Overspec have a lower pickup rate than standard, reflecting the different nature and value of the characters or gear featured in these banners compared to standard pickups — the exact rate is not officially disclosed. There is also the friendship banner, which uses Friendship Coins instead of the main currency; its SSR rate is likewise not officially disclosed.
Since each banner type carries a different rate, Commanders should always check the banner details before pulling to know exactly which type they're spending on and what rate applies.
Pity & Mileage
Alongside random rates, NIKKE offers a safety-net system called Mileage that guarantees a desired character if enough pulls are made. Each pull on a pickup banner earns a certain amount of Gold Mileage (the exact rate per pull has not been officially disclosed). Once 200 Gold Mileage is accumulated, it can be exchanged directly for the pickup character on the current banner, no luck required — this is NIKKE's pity system.
What makes Gold Mileage special is that it is never lost when a banner ends — accumulated Mileage automatically carries over to future pickup banners. This means Commanders can build up Mileage across multiple banners over time without worrying about losing progress from partial pulls.
Besides Gold Mileage, there is also Silver Mileage, earned from the standard banner (Ordinary Recruit) and used to purchase items at the Mileage Shop — a separate system from Gold Mileage's pickup redemption.
Recruit Currencies
NIKKE has 3 types of resources usable for recruiting: Gems (bought with real money or earned in-game), Advanced Recruit Voucher, and Ordinary Recruit Voucher. Not every voucher type works everywhere: when redeeming Gold Mileage (the 200-Mileage pity described above) for the pickup character, the system only accepts pulls made with Gems or Advanced Recruit Vouchers — Ordinary Recruit Vouchers do not count toward Gold Mileage redemption. So Commanders aiming for pity on a specific pickup banner should prioritize Advanced Recruit Vouchers or Gems, saving Ordinary Recruit Vouchers for the standard banner.
Some anniversary-type events also hand out a free SSR character directly through login missions, no gacha pull required — for example, the support unit Avistar was given out free during the 3.5th Anniversary (April–May 2026) to Commanders who logged in for 14 days and completed the event missions. This kind of giveaway only appears during specific events, not as a recurring mechanic.
Wishlist
Wishlist is a feature that lets Commanders pre-select a list of desired characters, increasing their chances of pulling those specific characters on the standard banner (Ordinary Recruit). It's a useful tool for Commanders aiming to target specific characters outside of the current pickup banner.
The Wishlist feature only unlocks after a certain number of pulls on the standard banner — the exact pull count is not officially disclosed, meaning Commanders need to pull for a while before they can set up or activate their wishlist.
An important note: Wishlist does not apply on pickup banners (limited banners featuring rate-up characters). It only takes effect on the standard banner, so Commanders should be clear about which banner type they're pulling on before expecting Wishlist to have any effect.
