Zenless Zone Zero's size depends on your device. The key catch on PC: the download is smaller than the space you need to install, because the game unpacks the files first and then compacts them.

Note: each major update (like a new version) can add tens of GB, so always keep some spare space instead of filling the drive to the brim.

Good news for weak machines: ZZZ's minimum requirements are light for a modern title. You don't need a new graphics card or huge amounts of RAM to get started.

For smoother play, the recommended PC spec is a 10th-gen i7 with a GTX 1660; on phones, a Snapdragon 888 / Dimensity 8200 / Kirin 9000.

If your machine only meets the minimum, open the in-game Graphics settings and follow these steps for a smoother run:

• Start from the Low preset, then raise individual options only if your machine has room to spare.
• Lower Render Resolution below 100% — this is the single most demanding option, and dropping it visibly boosts FPS.
• Set Shadows and Effects to Low; the game still looks good while running far lighter.
• Cap FPS at 60 (or 30 on very weak devices) for stability, so the machine isn't fighting to push more than it can.
• Turn down Reflections and Anti-aliasing if your frame rate still dips.

On phones, use the battery-saver/low-performance mode and close background apps before launching.

A few ways to ease the load on your drive without hurting gameplay:

• Download only the voice pack you actually use (e.g. Japanese or English) instead of all of them — the PC size gap (57 to 71 GB) is mostly voice data.
• Install on the drive with the most free space, and on PC make sure you have at least ~115 GB free during installation before you start.
• Clear the recycle bin / temp files beforehand to avoid running out of room mid-download.
• Prefer an SSD if you have one: not required, but loading screens and scene transitions are faster and smoother than on an old HDD.

Quickly check these three things before downloading — if you meet all three, you can play:

• Free space: PC at least ~115 GB, Android ~20 GB, iPhone/iPad ~26 GB.
• RAM: 8 GB for PC and Android, 4 GB for iPhone/iPad.

The most frequent cause is that the installer needs TEMPORARY space to unpack files, which can be much larger than the game's final installed size — as mentioned above, sometimes roughly double the download size. Your drive needs enough room for that temporary overhead too, even though it gets cleaned up and the space returned once installation finishes.

A less common cause: your system drive (usually C: on Windows) is full even though the drive you're installing the game to has plenty of space, because some supporting components (drivers, temp caches) still need to write to the system drive regardless of where the game itself is installed. The fix: free up space on the system drive, or temporarily clear other data on the drive you're installing to so there's enough temporary room for the unpacking process.

Good news: your game progress (level, characters, items) is stored on the server rather than on your device, so switching devices doesn't lose any progress — just sign back in with the same linked account. What you do have to redo is downloading the game onto the new device, since the game files themselves (graphics, audio, level data) don't sync over the cloud the way progress does.

One thing to note if you're moving from PC to mobile or vice versa: install size differs quite a bit between platforms (PC is typically several times larger than mobile), so don't be surprised if the mobile download feels much lighter than the PC install you're used to — that's expected, not missing data.

Every major version update (usually every few weeks to a bit over a month) adds new content — Agents, maps, story — so install size tends to grow over time and rarely shrinks.
