ZZZ Trust Explained — How to Raise It Fast & All Rewards | Zenless Zone Zero

Updated: 03/07/2026
30-second summary

In ZZZ you raise an Agent's Trust by completing their Trust Events and picking the right dialogue choices — the fastest method is accepting DM invites (up to 3 Agents per real day). It unlocks after finishing the "Anby's Problem" Commission in Chapter 2 - Interlude. Each rank-up (Familiar → Friendly → Close → Trusted) grants Polychrome, Dennies and rank-exclusive items, and the top rank unlocks that Agent's dynamic wallpaper. Note: Trust does NOT increase combat stats.

What Trust is and when it unlocks

Trust is how close you (the Proxy) are with each Agent. The closer you get, the more character lore, rewards and small in-game perks you unlock. First you must actually own the Agent — pull them from a Signal Search banner (see the pity and 50/50 rules to plan your pulls).

The Trust system only switches on after you complete the "Anby's Problem" Commission in Chapter 2 - Interlude of the main story. A few Agents can start gaining Trust earlier, once you've watched their Agent Story back in Chapter 1.

The fastest ways to raise Trust

Trust rises when you pick the right dialogue choices during interaction events. Three main sources:

  • DM invites (fastest): open the contacts tab in the messaging screen to invite an Agent out. You can invite up to 3 Agents per real day, and each Agent only once per day. The community recommends doing this daily.
  • Trust Events: short character-specific side quests that unlock extra Intel and rewards.
  • City encounters in New Eridu: find Agents wandering the city and talk to them to trigger a choice event.

Careful: wrong dialogue choices can actually lower Trust, so pick answers that fit the Agent's personality.

The Trust ranks: Familiar → Friendly → Close → Trusted

Trust points build up into ranks. The English version has four: Familiar → Friendly → Close → Trusted, with Trusted being the top rank that unlocks all of the Agent's lore. Each rank-up is a reward milestone.

You can check an Agent's current Trust rank in their in-game profile (or look up your whole Agent roster with the UID tool).

What you get: rewards per rank

Every Trust rank-up grants rewards, including:

  • Polychrome and Dennies — premium currency for pulls. Per community guides you receive roughly 80 Polychrome per Agent in total across the Trust ranks (a community-measured figure, not an official one).
  • Rank-exclusive items at the higher ranks (see the Hollow Zero section below).
  • The Agent's Dynamic Wallpaper — unlocked at the top rank (Trusted / Trust Lv.4), the animated background you see on the main menu.

If you own many Agents, the Polychrome from Trust adds up — a steady source to keep pulling (see the pity system).

In-game perks: video store & Hollow Zero

Beyond rewards, Trust ranks unlock a few perks:

  • Video store staff: once an Agent reaches Friendly, you can hire them as a promoter at the video rental store (Random Play) to earn extra Dennies.
  • Hollow Zero item (exclusive Resonium): when an Agent hits the Close rank, you unlock their exclusive Resonium. With that Agent in your squad, entering Hollow Zero triggers a special event that grants a temporary upgrade to their Mindscape Cinema for the rest of that exploration run.

Important: Trust does not boost combat power

A common misconception: Trust does NOT increase an Agent's stats or damage. It only unlocks rewards, lore/voice lines, the dynamic wallpaper and the perks above. To make an Agent stronger, focus on their level, Mindscape (dupes), W-Engine and Drive Discs.

So the sensible approach is: knock out your daily DM invites to farm Polychrome and unlock content, and invest your real power into gear. To optimize Drive Discs, use the disc scoring tool to see which discs are worth keeping.

FAQ

Does Trust increase an Agent's damage or stats?

No. Trust has no effect on stats or damage. It only unlocks rewards (Polychrome, Dennies, items), lore, the dynamic wallpaper and perks like the video-store promoter and Hollow Zero Resonium. To get stronger, level up the Agent, Mindscape, W-Engine and Drive Discs.

When does Trust unlock?

After you complete the "Anby's Problem" Commission in Chapter 2 - Interlude of the main story. A few Agents can gain Trust earlier once you've watched their Agent Story in Chapter 1. You also need to already own the Agent.

What's the fastest way to raise Trust?

Accepting DM invites is fastest: each real day you can invite up to 3 Agents, once each. Combine that with Trust Events and talking to Agents around the city. Pick dialogue that fits the Agent's personality, since wrong choices can lower Trust.
