Notorious Hunt is a Combat Challenge added in Version 1.0 of Zenless Zone Zero, unlocking at Inter-Knot Level 30 and offering 3 free attempts per week via Ophelia at Scott Outpost.
Find the right boss to fight
Pick the material you're missing (Main Reward) — the tool instantly points you to the boss to fight, its exploitable weakness, and the version it unlocked in. Since the community wiki only names 1 of the 10 material-to-Agent links (Girtablullu → Velina/Pyrois), this tool looks up by MATERIAL instead of Agent, so it never guesses at the other 9 links.
The 3 weekly bonus attempts are shared across all 10 bosses and never carry over between weeks. Enter how many you've used to see what's left.
Notorious Hunt is a type of Combat Challenge in Zenless Zone Zero, released in Version 1.0. Players take on the challenge by speaking to Ophelia at Scott Outpost, or by teleporting directly from the Compendium menu. The system requires reaching Inter-Knot Level 30 and having started Chapter 2: Interlude to unlock.
Notorious Hunt unlocks at Inter-Knot Level 30, after starting Chapter 2: Interlude. Completing each challenge awards Agent Core Skill Enhancement Material, and up to 3 challenges per week can be completed at no Battery Charge cost.
Per the community wiki, weekly rewards are split into 3 task groups, each with 3 escalating tiers of Denny + Investigation Merits: (1) number of Notorious Hunt completions this week (1/2/3 times); (2) number of full-squad wipes within a single challenge (no more than twice / no more than once / never wiped); (3) time to complete a challenge (under 10 minutes / under 6 minutes / under 4 minutes). Maximum total weekly reward: 90 Investigation Merits + 60,000 Denny.
The three weekly bonus attempts are shared across all 10 bosses — not 3 per boss — and never cost Battery Charge no matter which boss you fight. Attempts don't carry over between weeks: skip a week and those attempts are gone for good, they never roll into the next reset. Once the three bonus attempts are used up you can still fight any boss, but the reward payout drops sharply. Because attempts are shared, the efficient play is to point all three at whichever single boss you're currently short materials for, pushed to the highest difficulty you can still clear cleanly, rather than spreading them across three bosses out of habit. Per the community wiki, Notorious Hunt currently has no Co-op option.
Once the three free weekly challenges are used up, players who want to keep challenging can activate "Pursuit to the Depths" mode, where each further challenge costs 60 Battery Charge. Per the change history, since Version 1.7 players can choose directly between No Reward Mode or Pursuit to the Depths right after a battle; since Version 2.1 the buff-selection step can be skipped for a faster start.
The core loop is a stagger check with a health bar attached: build Daze until the boss enters Stun, then dump your biggest combo or ultimate right inside that Stun window — that's how most Notorious Hunt bosses are meant to be cleared. Treat Assist skills as your defense, not just extra damage: a well-timed Evasive or Defensive Assist turns a boss's scariest telegraphed attack into a free counter. Girtablullu specifically requires at least two Agents running Defensive Assist in the squad to unlock Chain Parry (also called Dual Parry), which lets you parry a string of its attacks in sequence.
The community wiki lists 10 Notorious Hunt stages, each tied to its own boss, a set of recommended attributes to exploit, and one Main Reward material used for core-skill/W-Engine upgrades — see the 10-row table below. Twin Marionettes only unlocks after clearing Chapter 3; the other 9 bosses are available earlier. The newest boss — Girtablullu — was added in Version 3.0, and its Main Reward, Timeworn Husk, is used to upgrade Agents such as Velina and Pyrois (this is the only boss-to-Agent material link the community wiki names explicitly; the other 9 Main Reward items are listed by name only, with no stated Agent — marked as not disclosed). HoYoverse hasn't published exact HP/damage numbers for these bosses.
